It's Valentine's Day, the most miserable day of the year for Severus and Hermione. They would like nothing more for it to be over, but someone has decided that they'd like it to continue... Written for the 2008 SSHG exchange for julilith.

Magical Me:
Hiya. I'm tonksinger, mostly former author. I don't expect I'll be writing any more fanfiction, but I invite you to enjoy the stories posted here.

Assault by Teacup Reading. *snort* :)
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Bwahahaha!! "Madame Trelawney, you are under arrest for attempted prophecy, with full intention and foresight."
A great start! Snape feels very in character to me. Can't wait to see where this goes ( wink wink, nudge nudge)...
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
What's with the winking? Are you suggesting I write... smut??? Moi?!?! *flounces off*:P Thanks!
This looks fun.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
I think it is--more to come soon!
I'm so glad you posted this here on TPP. I have been meaning to check it out on the exchange, but those best laid plans... well, you know. It was a stroke of luck for me tonight, serendipity.I thank you, Tonksinger, and Lucius, for playing yenta to Severus and Hermione. If you two didn't interfere, how long would it take for those two to get together. I'm so enjoying this romantic, funny tale, I might just have to jump to LJ...
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Thanks for reading this! I realized that I'd put it up on Ash, but not here. Playing yenta is what we authors do. All in the name of "Phbbbbtt JK and canon pairings!"
So funny! Can't wait for more.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Thank you! More is on the way!
Lucius got what he deserved.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
In fic, the bad guys always do. Were it were so in life...
Great way to avoid Percy, they should have thought of it days earlier.Lucius Malfou is such a perv, he had better hope they don't skin him alive.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Skin him alive? Not quite their style, I think. But he will get his just desserts, never fear. Thank you!
This is so cute I can't wait to see who is causing their problem, and what just happened to Severus.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Thank you very much!
I will never understand why man as smoking hot as Severus Snape would ever bother to be jealous of a self inportant twit like Percy Weasley, or any man for that matter.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Because Severus isn't aware that he is smoking hot. He's as insecure as any thin bastard with a big nose and greasy hair. Thank you for reading!
i knew it! i knew it! of course the hair clue was a tip off. great update. smoochies
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Thank you! I hoped to hint at the identity.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Groundhog Day!
Author's Response: That was actually the prompt for this story--a Groundhog Day-type story. i just changed the holiday.

Percy head of the school governors? That's more derranged than Lucius! :P
Author's Response: Derangement is the basis of fun.

Ecccch, Valentine's Day. I too find it soppy.
Author's Response: Bloody Hallmark holiday. Utterly pointless.
Dear tonksinger.Okay, I am hereby officially intrigued. I have enjoyed the "repeating Valentines nightmare" alot, but this new development has thrown me for a bit of a loop. Can't wait to see where you will take this next. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Dear Contessa,As always, glad to intrigue and entertain. More is on the way, hopefully to de-loop you. Thank you!
lol, caught Malfoy. Hadn't realised you intended him to be a voyeur. Nicely done but can we still have the sex please ;o)
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Sex is forthcoming, never fear. ;-)
After making Hermione suffer through endless excruciating dates with Percy Weasley and torturing Severus with the attentions of Trelawney and Madame Pomfrey, I think Lucius better do some mighty fast talking if he doesn't want to be hexed so hard that nothing of him remains but a perhaps a few strands of platinum hair and a little grease spot on the floor.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Oh, Lucius will get what's coming to him, never fear... Thank you!HermioneDiggory's response: May I suggest that our duo Portkey him naked to a deserted island and send Trelawney there to keep him company on his little enforced vacation?
Just a thought. :P
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Ahahaha! OMG, I wish I'd thought of that when I wrote this... I encourage you to write it! It will be hilarious!
Lucius is in trouble, Lucius is in trouble! Don't wanna be in his shoes right now! :)
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Muahaha. I almost feel sorry for him, except I know what's about to happen... ;-)
This is really good so far, I want to read more!
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Then I shall post more ASAP! :-D
He missed his chance to save Hermione again! Well, maybe he would have just ended up at The Three Broomsticks as well. Hermione would have at least had an interesting person to visit with and perhaps snup Percy. Being at The Three Broomsicks together wouldn't have been too bad, though. At least they have ended the night in the same room. That's the point of course. Now when they come to I expect them to both remember this event.
I think they should have left Lucius tied up and let him work on his wandless magic skills. He may have gotten them together, but Hermione really got the shorter end of the stick with Percy. I'm surprised Hermione didn't mind Lucius watching. She must be a kinky Hermione. I would think that if that was what floated her boat she might want to do it again. With Lucius tied to the mantle of course. It's much hotter for him not to be able to touch himself. He has entirely too much time on his hands and an obsession with voyeristic sex to put this much work into getting a chance to watch Severus and Hermione just once. Did he plan to portkey them to his room more than the one time? What a silly man to think Severus wouldn't notice something. That's how a spy survives for 20 years.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
I'm sure they'll come up with some sort of evil revenge plan to get back at Lucius.
YOU GOT ME! I didn't suspect Lucius. I confess, I suspected Dumbledore or maybe Filius. He could have long hair in your story. Malfoy doesn't usually wear a pony tail. He is in so much trouble! They could give a lust potion to Percy that makes him think he is in passionate love with Lucius. Then take away Lucius' wand and put them in the room of requirement. Who's needs would the room deem the most needful? I'm sure they will get their revenge someway. Right?
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
Well, I'm glad my deception was successful!
The truely Slytherin thing for Severus to do would have been to go to Hermione and ask her if she had even actually been listening to that prat Percy when she had agreed to go out with him and magnanimously asked if she needed an excuse to get out of it. He could say it was because he hated Percy. He wouldn't have to make it outright look like he fancied her. Then when she said "Yes", which I'm sure she would, he could have her tell Percy that she had forgotten that she had already been asked out by Snape. Or, Snape could even show up at her date with Percy and start chiding her for forgetting their date, causing her to leave Percy with Severus to avoid a sceen, unless Percy was stupid enough to challange Snape or stick up for Hermione, which he probably would. Nope. Snape would also have to hex Percy. But he is very creative. I'm sure he has some curse that would shut Percy up without getting Snape in trouble. Hell, I bet there is some Weasely product that could be given to Percy that would get Hermione out of the date and off with Snape. Poor Snape. Does he really think she would willingly go out with Percy Weasely? Would Hermione be too proud to take his offered assistance? Hopefully, she would be perceptive enough to consider the possiblility that Snape does fancy her. How could she say "Yes" to Snape and keep her pride? Oh well, it doesn't matter since Snape passed up the Slytherin opportunity of the year.
Response from tonksinger (Author of Valentine's Day)
He might well think she'd be willing t go out with Percy; through the early books, Hermione and Percy actually get along really well, since they're both sticklers for rules and work. And there must be something appealing about him, since Penelope Clearwater put up with dating him for a few years. :)
Good humor, anticipation of things to come. I mean those to come. Never mind. Why can't Snape give her a break? He seems to know she is fancies him if he knows about the "the bouts of masturbation with each other’s names on their lips and faces in their minds." Which friend would pointedly NOT talk about her. Does he have any friends?
