Aww... my favorite kind of romance with these two are the ones that are through letters.  I suppose it is because they aren't as afraid to say things when they aren't face to face, and they have more time to think before they speak.  Also the added bonus that it is difficult to fight and be all angsty when the conversation is taking place one side at a time.  It is interesting that she mostly knows it is him, and we assume that he know that she knows, but he continues to keep his identity a secret.  Is the poor man so insecure, or does he just like the intrigue that comes from her not knowing 100% that it is he sending the letters and flowers?  I'm loving where this is going.  Looking forward to more fabulous correspondence, the reveal, and *scrolls back up to check rating*  maybe some naughty bits... you know, for their sake.  They really do deserve it.  Keeping my fingers crossed for speedy updates :)

Ok, it's definitely Severus. I think what confirmed it for Hermione is him passing her the butter at breakfast. I think he's more comfortable doing things this way for now, considering how insecure he is.

*sigh of relief* Now she knows it isn't a prank.  Let the courtship begin.  Yay!

Oh, I gave an internal squee when I saw this updated!  (Couldn't do it aloud, didn't want to wake the kids.)  This just keeps getting better, belle.  It's interesting that he knows that she knows, but something is keeping him from doing anything more about it.

From gifts to letters, and the bear... LOL!  Can't wait to see what happens next!

I dearly love the Weasley family, it was good to see them included in this chapter.

Perfect beginning, I like finding out how Hermione has been living her life before she came back to Hogwarts.

That was a great way for Hermione to see Snape again.

Makes sense she would come to the conclusion that Severus is teasing her, given his recent sarcastic conduct and her discovery of the rash of Slytherin pranks.  But I'm confident her romantic side will win out over the cynical side, and she will come to trust him... hopefully.

I'm glad the Weasleys were kind.  She needed it.

She's trying to guesswho it can be, but what will she really do when she discovers for sure who it is? I don't think she's ready for friendship or more with Sev', so she should really question her own feelings to be prepared when/if he revealed himself. Unless it's someone else...

I don't think anyone's playing a prank on Hermione, but I can understand why she has those fears, especially after the fireworks in the library. Perhaps Severus put the student up to it, so he could get the flowers on her desk. I wonder how much longer he's going to wait before he lets Hermione know that he's her secret admirer.

Another great chapter!  Poor thing doubting *his* affection / intent and getting depressed at the thought that the whole thing could be a trick instead of an admirer.

Sigh--another lovely chapter.  I suppose that was a natural conclusion, especially after the prank.  Hopefully, it isn't like that.
