In her third year, Hermione realizes what Professor Lupin is after Professor Snape assigns his essay on werewolves. He in turn becomes captivated. There will be a chapter per year of school and an epilogue. No worries, there will be no romance until she is of age.

Reviews for Professor Lupin is a What?
He better take a lot of time. I enjoy very much SG/HG but not when she's so young.

Not until she's an adult. I have a chapter for every year after this, and an epilogue. I don't like it when she's that young either. Thanks for the review!
"I take it you mean another question, Miss Granger?" LOL! :)

I just had to have him say that. Thanks for the review!
She's quick on the uptake, isn't she?

Most definitely. Thanks for the review.
Loved this first chapter, I look forward to read more.

Thank you very much! Once I get the rest of it back from my beta, I will post them.
That's the way to Severus Snape's attention: being remarkably clever! Can't wait to see how Hermione manages to keep his attention over the following years...

Great beginning! Yeah, I guess he has a little time to put his thoughts in order. LOL :D
Response from blue artemis (Author of Professor Lupin is a What?)
Thanks for the review! The story is complete, the rest of the chapters are with my beta. I hope to get them up soon.
I'd have loved to see this written as a longer story that took the time to really develop the feelings between the two, but overall i liked it.

This was one of my earliest stories. Thank you!
Frightened Hufflepuffs. LOL. I like that Umbridge got what's for. Much better than in canon!
Response from blue artemis (Author of Professor Lupin is a What?)
Thank you. I've realized this series is quite a bit of my wishful thinking.
To quote an episode of The Tick: "Roof pig! Most unexpected!" I did not see that one coming, let me tell you...but I am glad that you're keeping Sirius alive in this. Hermione is ruthless when it comes to those dear to her--so Severus better watch his step as she gets older! She may just out-Slytherin him, and then who will be pursuing whom?

This is a bit of my wishful thinking. Thanks for the review!
Wooo Whooo Okay - nice twist and really departed away from canon. Total left swing! So now what happens?
Response from blue artemis (Author of Professor Lupin is a What?)
There are two more chapters and a very short epilogue on their way. I'm glad you enjoyed the twist!
Good for her for waiting up for him.

She's a smart girl, and although she hasn't figured out what she wants yet, something deep inside knows. Thanks for the review!
Arrgh! These chapters are too short! You're killing me here! Can you tell I'm enjoying this story? Poor Severus, he's not used to anyone doing anything for him without some kind of ulterior motive...he doesn't understand it, so he pushes Hermione away from him. Hopefully they can reach a kind of friendship in spite of everything.
Response from blue artemis (Author of Professor Lupin is a What?)
It is finished and back from my beta. I will get all the chapters posted, I promise. Thanks for the review!
At least someone showed him kindness and careing attention. Of course it confuses him. Oh, but now Poppy knows - something.
Response from blue artemis (Author of Professor Lupin is a What?)
It definitely confuses him. Thanks for the review!
Oooooh Only Hermione would take an essay assignement and come to the reaslization that he'd had an incident with Lupin. Interesting start.
Response from blue artemis (Author of Professor Lupin is a What?)
Thank you! I was prompted to write a story about how this may have happened, and a fascination on Severus's part. I hope I make it work.
Response from beaweasley2 (Reviewer)
You did.

It's a fascinating idea, and the start of the story is quite intriguing. But to be honest - even though Hermione's conclusions are understandable, as is Snape's reaction in a way, they do both come rather fast and quick.
It would have been much better, in my honest opinion, if it had taken Hermione more time to come to her conclusion, more opportunities for adding detail for her to finally make her move and confront Snape. Same goes for Snape and his sudden interest in her. I can imagine that he might be interested in a student after such a proven reasoning, but it feels out of character for him to think so soon that "she wouldn't be a child forever", as well as that he should already be fascinated by her. Intriguqed, yes, but already fascinated at the first occasion?
Author's Response: You are right. This was one of the first things I wrote. Thanks for the review.
