The after-effects of the Final Battle are despair - especially when the magic disappears.

Reviews for Without Magic
I still love this story, but I'm getting very confused. "Reptoids"?? Are these just people with bad attitudes? Are these 'aliens' incognito as people? Are these magical people of some sort? Half-breed people/creatures? Suddenly it seems like SciFi has dropped into the middle of Fantasy. ... And just how is it that they are 'shooting micro-chips' at Hermione and Severus?Did I miss a chapter somewhere that explained the 'reptoids'? I know in the previous chapter Severus did something that made one of them obvious ... so maybe you could get him to explain, considering that he is a teacher, just what they are since he can make them change?
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
So many questions, LOL. Reptoids, yes. You could call them people with bad attitudes. Erm, maybe google the term? It'll give you some idea.
I wouldn't call it SciFi per se. Reading conspiracy sites is very inspiring where plot bunnies are concerned.
Thank you for reviewing!
Yay, Hermione! Go give it to him girl!
Ron really is such a prat.
Oh, but the romance progresses nicely and so naturally, without any strain or angst. How refreshing!
Continue this way, it's really a great story!
bye,

Ron is a prat, isn't he? I really must write something that puts him in better light, LOL.
Thanks for your lovely review!
Response from shalimar1981 (Reviewer)
It seems he can't help it, canon or fanon. But I can relate, I want to be a bit nicer to him, too. Just not much nicer.
very ineresting story, I really hope you'll continue this!!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you. I do have about half a chapter written, so I'll get there eventually. :D
Response from uptowngirl48 (Reviewer)

Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
LOL! More butt kicking coming up soon! Thank you for reading and reviewing!
Lovely. I like the way they're getting closer. But oh, good lord ... Can we PLEASE have a snog??? PLEASE??? Pretty please???I like her little piano portkey. I have a tiny silver grand-piano charm on a bracelet, so I pictured that!More please! Can't wait until she's back with Severus.

gently* Snog coming up soon, promise!
Teehee, I have a silver grand around my neck, lol. It literally begged to be used that way. :-)
Thank you for a lovely review.

Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Yeah, Ron will grow up eventually. I hope, LOL.
Thank you for reviewing!
I'm sad to know that Hermione and Severus are seperated, but not for long. Once Hermione saw Ron at the sanctuary, I was immediately hoping to read the confrontation between Ron and her. I'm glad to know that there are others out there that are alright. I enjoyed reading about Neville - I've always liked him. I think that perhaps William was a little jealous. Not of Severus getting Hermione, exactly, but that Severus has found someone who cares about him and is a good person. I'm hoping he meets up with someone. Anyway, please update again soon! I love this story, and I can never wait to read more.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Hermione will return to Spinner's End soon. :-) William will be back, too.
Thank you for a lovely review!
What can I say, except this is probably one of the most original HG/SS stories I've ever read. You really have a wonderful imagination.Very much looking forward to the next chapter, and I can't wait to read your other stories! :)
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you! You make my day!
Next chapter is in the queue. :-)
*hands over some Mozart Kugeln in thanks*

Yum yum! *Gratefully accepts choccie treats and tucks in! ... Smacks lips.*Thank you!
Now here you are once more with another great ta;e. I like some of the moments in this story where music and the art of story telling comes into play here. This little chapter was little fun,...hmmm i am srring that Severus is having a little crush indeed. This is becoming very very good.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you so much for this wonderful review, you've made my day!
Severus thinks it's just a little crush, but, boy, is he in for a surprise... :-)
fascinating story. thrilled to see it updated. Yay!! Severus and Hermione are bringing the magic back!! Please update soon.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm glad you find it fascinating.
Thank you for reading and reviewing! :-)
I'm so glad you've updated! I had given up on this story, to be honest. I thought for sure it'd be just like that other story on Fanfiction (the world has loss its magic, and Severus and Hermione were working on getting it back). That story was abandoned....I hope you stick with what you said - that the next update won't be so long in coming! So now we know how Severus feels. I'm going to have to go back and re-read this story, because I've forgotten if Hermione likes Severus as well or not. I think she does, but I'm not sure.Wonderful job though, and I hope you update again very soon!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
This last update took me a while longer than usual because I wrote a couple of one-shots between.
Thank you for reading and reviewing! :-)
So the Muggles have messed up yet another natural envirnoment. Sigh.
This is an intriguing story, and I like the way the relationship between Hermione and Severus is developing as they get to know each other in new ways.
(BTW - I think you meant chile-induced heat, not chilly-induced heat.)
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Indeed. Thankfully, it is only a small fraction of Muggle gov. workers who do that. Although we might get a glimpse of just how powerful those scumbags are ;-)
I am very happy that you find it intriguing and like the slow pace where the potential relationship is concerned.
As to chile/chili/chilly, I write in British English, having spent the majority of my English speaking life in the UK. According to http://dictionary.cambridge.org/results.asp?searchword=chile&x=0&y=0
the correct American version would be chili, I believe. I've had a discussion about this issue with NSS a couple of chapters ago, but I can't for the life of me find the relevant link right now. In any case, chili is the American term. Chile would be a slang term according to the Cambridge dictionary, I think. But thanks for pointing it out, I shall do some further research on it.
Thank you very much for reading and reviewing. :-)
Response from Leandra (Reviewer)
The chile/chili usuage depends on which part of the US you're from. The New Mexico Chile Pepper Institute defines "chile" as the capasin plant and it's fruits, and "chili" as a culinary dish consisting of chile powder, beans, tomato. As a Southwestern girl, I follow their rules. So, "chilly" is UK? It's amazing how one language has such variation!
It worked! I think I'm almost as excited as Hermione and Severus. LOL!I really, really like this story!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
It has worked. For now. ;-)
Thank you for a wonderful review! :-)
Good to see Hermione and Severus out gifting, You couldn't get them to disperse a few chem trails while their at it could you? Thanks for the update - looking forward to more.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Funny you should mention the chem trails. You know, I really pondered the issue. In the end I decided against it because it is already one beast of a plot. I do believe that anyone interested in this subject will not hesitate to search for more information and inevitably come across Don, and the next thing they'll do is hurry to buy the ingredients for a cloudbuster. :-))
Thanks for reading and reviewing. Next chapter won't take as long.
I love this story =)Cant wait for more updates!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm very happy that you love it. :-)
Update should be coming soon, definitely a much shorter wait than for the last one. :-)
Thanks for reading and reviewing!
I am enjoying your story. Severus's insecurity is so sweet. (I know, using "sweet" to describe Snape.) I like the interaction between him and Hermione. I'm glad she tactfully pushed Draco away.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm glad you're enjoying it. :-)
LOL, yes, describing Snape as sweet *coughs*, but I think I know what you mean.
She had to push Draco away. Before too long, she'll discover just how much Severus means to her...
Thanks for a lovely review!
oooh nifty idea. though interesting the people you decided to kill off/survive. alas, i amdisappointedf that there is a plan to get back their magic.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you. I think it's the normal thing to figure out a way to regain their magic...
I just discovered this one today - please tell me you're working on new chapters!!!
I was wondering when someone would bring Orgone into the magical mix. An original spin though to have wizards in league with muggles. Are you an Etheric Warrior by any chance? Expect to see Hermione deploying Holy Hand Grenades, Tower Busters and the like soon. Keep up the good work.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Orgonite just begs to be brought in, doesn't it? LOL And those Muggle scumbags just beg to be taken down a notch, I'd say. :-)
Well, they "poured" the latest batch, didn't they... That screams tower busters to me even though I didn't describe the use of teflon muffin pans *snicker*. They'll bury it near that tower in the next chapter, and then we'll sit back and wait to see if the magic comes back.
The Power Wand sits by the computer, Carol's pyramid on top of another cluster of electronic destroyers, and I rarely carry less than ten TBs with me. I guess that'll answer your question. :-)
Oh, and thanks for a wonderful review! Blessings
Response from melusin (Reviewer)
Aha suspicions confirmed. A novel way of waking up a few pyjama people - I mean muggles *ahem*.
Hmm, love the story so far... Like every other story, I didnt want to read it at first because it just didnt apeal to me, then of course I clicked it and decided wtf im just going to read it. And im glad I did. Cant wait for the upcoming chapters! *prances around*
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Wow, thank you! It's funny you put it this way because there are quite a few stories that I started reading even though I wasn't really attracted to the summary, and then I got totally hooked... :-) I'm glad you don't regret reading it!
o jeez what a way to leave us! i know it has been years since this story has been updated but i hope you finish it one day it is really great.
Ack! Evil cliffie! So Charlie's back from the spirit plane, carrying a bulky package ... oh, I'm crap at this sort of thing! Just update soooooooooooon !!!
Oh, stop! You KNOW what that note said! It's the rest of us who are frantically reaching for our computer mouses/mice/meece .. whatever! to find out! *applause*
Head still spinning ... mind is boggled. The concept of Snape having Red Cloud on his side .... *blinks*. Still, love the story!
