At the urging of Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape takes on Hermione Granger as his apprentice shortly after the beginning of her Seventh year. After completing her very rushed N.E.W.Ts, ending a relationship, making a friend, gaining an enemy, and battling everything Snape could throw at her, what else is left?

I write fan fiction: I am a big SS/HG shipper, but I also like RL/HG, DM/LL and tastefully written Dramione or Lumione on occasion.
I photoshop: I use photoshop an awful lot to create my own banners and edit photos - I love my DSLR.
I am a bibliophile: Paperback, hardcover, graphic novel, fiction or non-fiction. You name it, I read it and collect it.
SEVERUS SNAPE IS MY ONE TRUE LOVE!!!
Reviews for Amor Vincit Omnia
Can't a man eat his breakfast? Voldemort has the worst... timing, among other things.I have always been amazed at the things that people may be called upon to do during a war. Wonderful and kind people have to do the unthinkable for the greater good. And I resent the way Albus manipulates others to carry out his plan for "the greater good," but I do see that in the great scheme of things, saving the most might mean losing the few. And I guess this is precisely where Severus finds himself. Granted, his decisions earlier in his life lead to his being Dumbledore's tool to bring down the Dark Lord, but I imagine it is all a very painful thing for him that seems to go on and on and on... still he killed the girl with as little suffering as possible.I hope Severus can be persuaded not to hurt himself after he has been forced to hurt someone else. What an angsty chapter, brandy. Well done!Beth

It is amazing what people would do for the greater good. And yes, he did try to spare her the suffering that she may have had to endure had he chosen to take the other course of action. The next part may enlighten you further as to whether or not he does continue to hurt himself. Lots more angst to come! Thanks for reviewing!
fun so far. I will keep reading.

Thank you :) And please do.
Oh, my aching head. Snape's right– that's gonna hurt in the morning.I never doubted that Hermione would ace her N.E.W.T.s, but think she was very concerned that she might flub something and not do well on one of them: Potions. When Severus asked her why she was determined to pursue an apprenticeship with him she told him, "I respect your work, and I am grateful for everything you do 'or us. That is why I have chosen you as my mentor,’ she answered. It was as much a truth as she was telling him for now. Now I'm wondering just what the whole truth is. Obviously Hermione and Dumbledore know more than they have let on to Severus about.I am looking forward to following where you take the Potions Master and the Know-It-All.Beth

There is still much more to come in the following chapters that I hope will illuminate some of the things that seem a little shady right now. Thanks for reviewing, Beth :)
Poor Severus. Hopefully Hermione can be his light.
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
That is the hope. Thanks for reviewing!
Brutal, but I understand his desire to cleans himself. War is a horrible thing. Good people do horrible things that they would never dream of doing otherwise.Lots of angst to come, I'm sure. My favorite kind of story. And even though you wrote it a while ago, I'm not advers to AU stories. I'm glad you decided to post it.I anxiously await your next chapter.
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
I never understood what drove people to hurt themselves until I wrote this story. And yes, you are correct that there is more angst to come, but thankfully now with all of the chapters beta'd I will be able to get them all up by June. Thanks for the review :)
Any hopes of further parts of this stoory being posted? I'd love to read more!

Hermione is making a habit of being carried by the potions professor. This is going to be interesting reading. Look forward to the next chapter ;) .

I'l a very curious girl by natur. So this strange gidt that she's given him for Christmas is nagging me a great deal. And I don't know why but I feel it has somethong to do with his possible feelings for her. So it should open now if he tried again. Am I close?
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
Heheh, guess you will just have to wait and see what happens... Thanks.
I saw that you posted this story on Granger Enchanted recently. Hopefully that means you'll start posting the other chapters to this story soon. I really enjoyed this first chapter and can't wait to read the rest.
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
Yeah, I will be getting on it some time soon. I don't know - it still needs to be beta'd. Thanks so much! A~

Thank you so much! I am glad you liked this chapter! A~
"Love wins over everything" If my old memory serves me correctly, that should be the meaning of the title. An interesting one, might I say. I'm glad to know I won't have to wait long between updates, and I'll just ask how many chapters there will be. That way I can prepare myself, because I know I will love it and be sad when it's over.
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
You were very, very close. The quite literal translation of it is "Love Conquers All" I thought it was appropriate for a romance :)The story is complete and there are 12 chapters.I am glad you like it so far. Thanks for reviewing! A~
great start! looking forward to seeing some more of your work!
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)

Heh, thank you :)I'm glad you liked it...A~
I think he has every reason to be emotionnal once in a while. I just wish he weren't cutting himslef like that. I hope Hermione will be able to help him.
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
Well, lets just see if Hermione is the answer to his problems :) Thanks for reviewing!
He's a very OOC Snape, isn't he? I mean, I'm 41 and I can't think of ONE 37 year old man that was or is EMO, or cuts himself. That seems to be a very teenaged thing to do. I would expect him to drink himself into a stupor, not resort to cutting! Actually, for our age group (Sev would be 50 now), there were NO Emos or Goths when we were teenagers!
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
Well it's an AU story, and yes he is OOC and a very different Snape to what a lot of people would be used to. Perhaps everyone is so used to a Snape that would be willing to drink himself into a stupor that it makes it hard to accept that he might harm himself out of grief instead. It's really just a matter of interpretation. As I think I mentioned in the A/N, it was written a few years ago now, and at a time when I struggled to grasp why a person would physically damage themselves - it is mearly a cry for attention, and I think that it is something that I think Snape would do. While I would not call him Emo, he is an emotionally unstable character and that is simply what this is all about - how in his time of need, Hermione was HIS rock instead of the other way around.
This was a very interesting chapter, and I was blown away by the scene of Hermione and Snape comforting each other down by the lake. This must be the first time in decades that Severus has opened himself up to another person.I really like that Hermione has taken the bull gently by the horns and gotten him to promise to escort her to the Halloween Ball. Not a date? Yeah, right. Our Miss Granger is a very clever witch. And you are a very clever author. Beth
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
More like a sentimental fool of an author :p Lol. Although, you could say that was a good thing some of the time. I am glad you enjoyed the lakeside comfort scene. It was one of my favourite parts to write. And not a date indeed :) Thanks for following, Beth!
I'm surprised he accepted the hug to be honest.
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
Ordinarily, I'd be surprised, but with him being so vulnerable and in desperate need of some lovin' I imagine the that a hug would be allowable. Thanks for reviewing!
Aww, I love the tenderness in this chapter. I love Hermione's boldness. I'm really looking forward to their date!
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
Thank you, my dear. There will be more tender boldness to come yet :)
I was a bit surprised by the warning and then by the fact that Voldemort was still alive. I thought he was dead and the trio was returning for their seventh year. I wonder now what Dumbledore has imagined for Hermione. I hope it's not a too hard to do task, but considering who we're talking about I'm a bit scared.
Response from Hanagasume (Author of Amor Vincit Omnia)
Lol, well it will all hopefully be cleared up by the next chapter for you :) Thanks for reviewing!
