Cedric's got a busy year juggling an amorous Cho, Quidditch practices, avoiding hordes of star-struck girls, pleasing his father, Head Boy duites, winning a tournament and studing for his NEWT's. What's abloke to do when he falls behind in his studies? Call on our resident bookworm, of course.

Favorite Pairings: Hermione/Sirius, Hermione/Harry, Hermione/Cedric, Hermione/Blaise, Hermione/Remus, Hermione/Lucius, Hermione/Draco, Hermione/Death Eater, Hermione/Snape, Hermione/Tom aka Voldemort -- Hermione with just about anyone OTHER than Ron. I just can't fathom that pairing (sorry Jo). I also don't like Harry with Ginny (Yuck, pa-too-ee).
I also enjoy: Slash, Moresomes-- I'll read anything as long as it's written well or turns me on (lmao).
Favorite Movies: LOTR Trilogy, Twilight Saga, Dune, Children of Dune, 80's "chick flicks", Horror/Scary Movies (love 'em!), Hitchock Movies, Classic Movies aka Black and White, Any Jane Austin book turned into a movie, Period Pieces,

An update, YAYS! You made my morning, especially as there are so few Cedric/Hermione stories out there. Glad to see Hermione is still pushing to get Harry to tell Cedric about the dragons, even if he does already know by overhearing them. I can imagine what Cho will be like when she finds out Cedric will be studying with Hermione, I'm sure she'll get far nastier about our girl than she already is. What a witch ... and NOT in a good way. I look forward to the next update!

Oh, you'll get to see Cho's reaction in the next chapter *rubs hands together eagerly*I made your morning? That's so sweet, thank you! It's the whole principle of the thing, Harry telling Cedric even though Cedric already knows; isn't it.Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Hi! I just found this story and I'm absolutely loving it. Cho is SUCH a catty thing, no wonder Cedric's eye is straying elsewhere. I'm totally looking forward to seeing what happens next!

I actually just got a chapter of this story back from my beta today and I will be posting it here within a day or two. I'm glad you like it and thanks for reading and reviewing.
good chapter, I like the idea that Hermione was the one to want to tell Cedric about the dragons. I doubt a boy with so much on his mind would have thought to do that, at least not the ones I went to school with (smiles). More please..............Joanne.

LOL, boys can be pretty darn clueless, can't they? The next chapter is currently with my beta. ;O)
I really like this story!! It's so fun to picture R-Pat & Emma W as the happy couple. Squee!!!!

I'm glad you like it! Yea, Rob and Emma would look sweet besdie each other, wouldn't they? (lol) Both are the cutest people. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Thanks for writing a Cedric story, there are not enough of them around. I like the idea of the Cedric/Hermione pairing. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Your a good writer, keep it up..... Joanne.

What a lovely compliment, thank you. I'm a huge fan of Cedric/Hermione pairings too, had he lived in the books/movie he might have come to notice all of our girls fine attributes.I actually have up to 11 chapters of this story completed. The next chapter is at my beta and when I get it back I will be posting it.Thanks so much for reading and for your kind review!

11 chapters........great I can't wait! I too think that if Cedric had lived he might have started to appreciate Hermione more as she became older. It's such a shame he died. His good character was used well by J.K Rowling to get across the point of the evil of Voldermort and the injustice and senselessness of the death of someone with such potential. For me, the film brought that home more than the book did because I thought the actor (Robert Pattinson) gave the character such presence on screen and captured Cedric's personality well. He puts a face to the character so that now I really hate watching him die.........Looking forward to reading more of your story, Joanne.

Well, I must confess to having a bit of a crush on Rob Pattinson and it all started with him playing Cedric (lol)! He can put his face as close to mine as he'd like any day of the week. *wink wink*
I really like the direction you're taking. It's a real "Girl Next Door" kind of feeling. I admire that Cedric is the sort of person who is not into the superficial. Lovely. Can't wait for more.

Thank-you! The next chapter is currently with my beta and after I get it back I will be submitting it here. The next chapter has Cedric discovering even more interesting things about Hermione.I like your reference to the "Girl Next Door" theme. I hadn't thought of it quite like that but now that you mention it that theme runs through out the story.I'm glad you like it and thanks for reviewing!!
I like the way you portray Cedric here. That's just how most people feel I'd think when they are putting on airs. Deep down they know it's wrong and costing them something in the end. :)
Response from caughtinblackseyes (Author of Diggory In Deep)
Thank-you. ;o) Cedric is, at heart, a good lad but all those expectations just keep piling up and up. In the next chapter we'll see more of why he admires Hermione so much. This chapter had more to do with her loyalty and percieved personality but the next will have more to do with his admiration of her magical abilities. I'm just waiting to get it back from my beta freedachicken but I'm also petitioning for a beta from this site too because I'd like to post my Sirius/Hermione story on here as well and my present beta has chosen not to beta the new story because she's not familiar with that pairing.Sorry, I tend to ramble. Anyway, thank so much for the lovely review.
This is a really interesting take on things. I like the way you've looked at Cedric's point of view after the goblet incident, and the whole Cho romance seems quite comical so far. Aso loved Scott and Hermione's reactions to Cedric's predicament ;-) Poor Cedric! I'm really looking forward to seeing how this story develops, and hoping it won't have a horribly sad ending...how closely are you sticking to canon? Okay, you don't have to answer that, I guess I'll wait and see... Anyway, great first chapter!

I'm here to tell you that cedric DOES NOT DIE!! I couldn't possibly kill our sweetheart, that's just wrong. You'll be seeing more of Cedric's friend Scott Summers, boy will you ever but not as much as Susan Bones.(LMAO)
hmmm

Sorry, I hit a wrong key and sent before I was finished. . I often wondered why JKR chose a Hufflepuff (and I was sorted Badger myself) to be the sacrifice at the end of Goblet. I know she wouldn't kill off Ron or Hermione, but I wonder @ diggeory
Response from caughtinblackseyes (Author of Diggory In Deep)
I've done some research on badger characteristics and here's what I've come up with: They are known to be enornously protective and fierce of their young. In the book and movie, when transported to the graveyard Cedric immediately went in to protective mode of Harry who was younger and percieved as less able to defend himself.Thay are very determined and loyal, as we already know. What's really interesting is that in one article I've read there is a sentance in there that made go "HUH?" Here it is:"The habitat characteristics that emerged as having the most influence on Badger social group densitiy were the "diggability" of the soils and the length of hedge rows."Now doesn't that just reek of Cedric Diggory? We have part where it states that it emerged as having the most influence on Badger society... wasn't Cedric Hufflepuff's Golden Boy and didn't his silent bravery and fierce and loyal capabilities not only make in one of the most popular people at Hogwarts but also made him The original Champion of Hogwarts. Ands that whole diggability word, well come on I don't need to elaboarte on how much that sounds like Diggory (lol). And the hedge rows can definately put the maze on ones mind as it was made of high hedges, smack dab on?!So with all of this maybe Cedric was the natural choice to give up is life, as I said, badgers take on nemesis often twice to three times their size if one of their young are being threatened (again Harry). Cedric was all a good and wonderful Hufflepuff should be and we will never forget him because in reality not only was he one of the first known casualties of the war, through his death awareness of Voldemort's return cam to light. Cedric's death though extremely heart breaking and sad, was not in vain!
I love it when an unsung hero rises from the dead to star in his own little homage!! Can't wait to see where you're taking this!
Response from caughtinblackseyes (Author of Diggory In Deep)
I was beyond upset when Cedric was killed off. I think you're exactly right, he is an unsung hero but beleive me in this story I'll be singing his praises (and not so praiseworthy behavior) to the high heavens. Thanks for reviewing!
