Jealous. Possessive. Endlessly devoted. Such words could easily describe a man like Severus Snape, especially in regards to his wife. Unfortunately, Snape finds himself in the position of shielding Hermione from the temptation of a hot-blooded and much younger man—himself.
Silently and patiently beta'ed by the wonderful Madbrilliant!

I enjoy writing simple poetry about love, life, and betrayal; either about myself or those closest to me.
Notice! December 2, 2010:
This site is amazing. The numerous reviews and reads I have received here has been beyond humbling. However as I have gotten older, RL has taken main priority to reading and writing fanfic. Any tiny fraction of personal time I am able to indulge myself has been spent in the fandom, but I must admit it had been dwindling more and more. I will NEVER abandon anything I have begun, and attempt to finish my WIPs every day. However, like many authors, I have made the mistake of submitting my work to more archives than I am capable of maintaining with the care that is due them. If I am able and time willing, I might continue to update my fics here, but my main priority lies elsewhere. MODERATED ARCHIVES ARE A BLESSING AND NECESSARY FOR QUALITY FIC. I stand by that. Unfortunately submitting my fics to various moderated archives means more time necessary to edit the various mistakes each individual archives will find in my work. My fics will continue to be updated at Ashwinder and Potter Place Archives, anywhere else will have to take a back seat. This is my problem and I take full responsibility. Thank you for reading, reccing, voting, and reviewing my fics on The Petulant Poetess!

Well, I hope Severus is not going to kill himself... Good chapter!
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Haha, indeed! Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the read and review!
I understand that Severus can't give her advance warning, but geez. It would have been nice to be prepared for this. At least we know Severus can't be too mad. He's lived through it once from the other side. I don't know who to feel more sorry for, Sev the older, Sev the younger, or poor Hermione. Another excellent chapter. I am eagerly awaiting more.Hugs, Muggle Mom

Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Indeed! Fate seems like a nasty little bugger.
^____________________________^ yay! im so happy to proceed with this fic. sounds like ton of fun.
“Your… wife?” A devious smirk spread across his jaw. Jerking his hair out of his face, Snape drawled, “Kill me and you will never live to have a wife-will you?”The older man blanched, obviously comprehending the enormity of his mistake. teeeheee.

a very interesting little epiphany there, for young SS. a wonderful twist to this tale! I am enjoying it. Thanks for writing this.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
And thank you for reading. Next chapter submitted to queue and will be up in a few days!
Golly, this is an odd tale. I like it, it's got a lot going for it, stray bits of humor, a very strange younger SS who wants to persue his future self's wife, wierd and original backstory ideas about Lily and Severus.(How smart do you have to be to want your future self to have a happy life?)You've given this a lot of thought, thanks for sharing it.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Big fan of 'odd' and 'weird'! Soooo glad to hear this story described as such. Thank you for the read and review!
the familiar rhythm of her Potion master’s angered screaming lulled her back to sleep.wonderful!
then the mudblood business, creepy! how very strange and horrid that he would insult her and she would allow it. You've given us a strange sort of backstory for a weird time travel tale. I think it's neat that he recalls himself as an 'old man' (of forty-two!) the young SS is such a little creep. he'd enjoy breaking Hermione, would he? yuck!“And I know you’ve been listening to us, you little shite! GET IN HERE NOW!”A wonderful note to end the chapter.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Excited you enjoyed the various story-lines of this chapter. The mudblood business has been my favorite part of this fic. Thank you for reading!
Oh, fascinating! This just gets better! Thank you, Cat

Thank you! Next chapter complete and submitted to queue. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Younger!Snape said some cruel things to Hermione about why she would have chosen a Half-blood over a Pure-blood, and I heartily congratulate Hermione on her well placed round-house slap. It explained a lot about the reasons that Severus had tried to hard to protect his wife from his younger self. I can only hope he will be able to successfully brew the potion to send his younger self back to his own time before any permanant harm can be done. Younger!Snape is falling for Hermione, and I cannot imagine the fallout that can cause. Older!Severus will want to cause great harm to his younger self if he even slightly suspects that is happening – and I think that is probably one of his greatest fears – but he cannot harm him without harming himself and his relationship with the woman to whom he is married. Now that Younger!Snape knows that he falls in love with a Muggle student in the years to come, and marries her, he is devastated by the thoughts his future holds for him. Even more so, having seen the scars on Hermione's back, and knowing that Bellatrix is the only one to have mastered that grisley combination of torture, he knows that the Dark Lord will return and that he will be drawn into the nasty plotting and warring again. What's a wizard to do? Either of them... I don't envy them what is on the horizon.Great story, Mystery Author, and well done! Beth

Given this very detailed review, I'm especially eager to see your reaction to the next chapter. Many of your questions/guesses are addressed! Next chapter submitted to queue. Thank you for your read and review!!
Very nice chapter!!
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Thank you!! More on its way.
Snapes memories were a point I really was wondering about. Senior's memories should constantly change, dependent on what Junior does - you found a way of explaining that away by relying on the intentions only.So now he knows her full name. Imagine what that will do to him, knowing that the little girl placed under the Sorting Hat will be his wife in years to come? Watching her fall in love in Victor, when she will be his? Imagining her together with Ron ...I love how you portrait junior still so close to the prejudiced mind-set of a Death Eater. It will be a loooong journey for him to become the man Hermione will fall for.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Long journey indeed! One I am trying to explain, and hopefully it will be believable. More finally to come. Thank you for reading and for the awesome review!
poor junior. he has a lot to suffer when there is such a woman as Hermione around. *hehe* no pitty here.He did say very rude things to her. But then, that is what a sooo proud of those pure-bloods would say. dirty excuse for being angry about being rejected. his money! ha!as if the war-heroin would need this!no. What was the introductional conversation about? the younge self did do things the older self could not remember?I hope that brewing the potion strikes in one.or would it be nice to let younger self roast for another 4 weeks time?well, the mess he is creating would be to much to bear for the happy couple.but on the other hand, it would be so much fun for me to read!! *grin*am so eager to learn how it is going on!!thank you for the chapter!
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
I believe Snape senior hopes the potion will take in one. Much more on its way! Thank you for reading!
This is fascinating and disturbing in equal measure. I don't like where it seems to be going, but I can't stop reading... Splendidly written.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Thank you! Youre description of this fic is so pleasing to hear. More finally on its way. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
Wow. It's so wierd to think of Severus not knowing that Voldemort returned, that Bellatrix escaped, etc. etc... You've written the story in such a way that I feel right there in his confusion and discovery of what has occured - or rather what WILL occur. It would be a bizarre state to be in - learning of your future, but still not quite understanding it. I think this is a pretty amazing plot and I look forward to things to come.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Thank you so much! Excited you're are enjoying this tale. Sorry for the delay but more is finally on its way. Thank you for the read and review!
his personality really was a journey, wasn't it. phenominal update. thanks so much
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Journey indeed, which hopefully I have only begun to explore. Much more on its way. Thank you for reading!
Just started reading this tonight, enjoying it greatly so far.Junior is so arrogant thinking that Hermione couldn't possible know true evil because she is just a shallow, money hungry muggle born. Seeing her torture scars and realizing their sorce should be a real wake up call to him, the git.Looking forward to the next update.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
More finally on its way. Glad you enjoyed this. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
Really nice work - this tension of expectation and perception is exquisite - can not wait to see where you take this next! Thanks for your hard work.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Thank you so much! More finally on its way.
I want this story to go on. With crushing, heavy desire, I wish for the next chapter already. The tip-toe dance is fantastic, characterisation perfect and suspense palpable.Do you think it might be passable if younger SS was called Snape and older Severus? When they are not being Junior and Senior. Or would it interfere with POV too much?
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Very excited you enjoyed it! As far as their names, I see young Severus as a secondary character in this tale so only he gets a nickname, whereas our favorite older Potions Masters gets to use both Severus and Snape. Giving them both nicknames would improve the POV actually. I did try it but it felt disrespectful to older Snape, lol. Next chapter finally complete.Thank you for reading!
Response from nata (Reviewer)
Squee! Looking forward to it!
Quite an intense chapter. It seems that no matter how hard Severus tries, he can't keep his younger self from finding out about what happens in his future. good for Hermione for slapping the crap out of Junior. He deserved even worse. Such horrid accusations!
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Junior did deserve it, and more! More finally on its way. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
Hermione is handling all of this remarkably well. I am really perplexed by the animosity between the younger and older men. I love it!!!
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Happy you enjoyed it! More finally on its way. Thank you for reading!
This is an extremely compelling fic and I'm enjoying every word!

Excellently done-it's so difficult to blend the different tones of war, love, sex, repentance, pride, and everything else together, and this certainly does it. I suspect it will hold up nicely in reread while we wait for the next chappy.
Response from Battle of Lissa (Author of Bound to Happen)
Thank you! I humbly apologize for the long delay but the next chapter is finally complete. Thank you for reading and reviewing!sapphire_pheonix's response: It's complete? and with the betas, right?... I'm so excited for your update that I keep checking to see if it's even in queue!
