Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much!! I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed this chapter.
I'm soooo not looking forward to the conversation with the parents: such a tough discussion to have. I am happy to see this at the top of the list, though! Thanks!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Yes... I wouldn't be looking forward to it, either, but it has to be done...Thank you so much for reading :)
Ohhh I'm looking forward to June. Very good chapter. Nice to see Ron grow a few brain cells and make up with Hermione and Severus gave her a gem of advice. I hope it works out for her.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Grin. June will come :DYes. I prefer to have Ron semi-aquitted of idioacy and provide closure to that aspect of things. Unrelieved bitterness is never a nice thing.
Excellent closure with Ron...I always thought Ron and Lavender made sense, if Lavender matured. Another excellent chapter!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you. Closure with Ron was important to me... bitterness and resentment isn't nice, and Ron's not a bad bloke, in the end. Just clueless sometimes :)
Very much like Severus to react by clamming up and lashing out. I am very glad that Ron is moving on and glad that Severus is as well. For 20 years he obsessed and grieved and was unable to move past events. Now it seems like the weight is lifting and he's able to take a deep breath and look at his life more rationally. I like the small touches and covert kisses. I don't know how they'll hold off til June!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Smiles. Closure and resolving the past is an important theme for the Silvering Divide. Moving on with new life, you know...They will have to be patient for June, although the tension between them is racheting tight!!
That little display of jealousy revealed a lot. Can they wait two more months? :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Smiles. June will come, and I doubt Severus will break his resolve before then. He's had to wait 20 years for happiness and he's not about to wreck it now. He's a careful man... with a sneaky side for the small, covert signs of affection.
I am glad that things worked out so well for Hermione and Ron, and I wonder what happened to Severus Snape that made him so wise, patient and good natured.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Like Severus said... perspective and forgiveness and closure is an important thing... he's had time since Voldemort died to resolve many things in his mind. Stress and manipulation would make lesser men grumpy, I'd wager. Thanks so much for reading :)
Excellent chapter, lovely to see the relationship progressing. And sweet reference to Silence of the Lambs!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
THank you so much.I'm a big fan of the movie :D

Oh my god, this story is sooooo sweet and hot and I can´t stop reading it....or waiting for the next chapter! You descibe the emotions so perfectly in character of Snape and Hermione that I wish Snape would be a selkie in the books too! Please continue soon! And thank you so much for this beautiful story!!!!!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much; I'm so glad you're liking it.Hee. I always thought it a pity that JKR didn't go into Snape a little more. Although from Harry's pov, that would have been difficult, I guess. The Pensieve was her only tool for that.
just dove into your work - what incredible characterization! Your dialoge is revealing without being stilted, and lends itself to natural timing in your piece. Thank you so much for your hard work - imaginative and graceful writing like this deserves a huge hurrah!! Thanks for sharing. Please update as soon as you can.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much--I'm so glad that you think the pacing of the piece works. Thank for for reading, and for such a lovely comment; you've made my day, you know!
I love how they are getting along, knowing each other better gradually...
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you. I think that it's important for them to know about each other before they jump to intimacy, particularly being in a student-teacher relationship currently :)
I love how they are simmering. I love the line about the scarred, cantankerous half-man. So Severus.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much :D Simmering is a perfect word to describe the status!
Very nice, I love the comfortable, easy to read style you have.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much!
Nice building of the relationship. The box is a gem! :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Aw, thank you. I've been looking for a shell-inlaid box for myself, LOL.
Really loved their interaction in this chapter! That she's learning to read him fairly well and is occasionally holding her tongue helps too. The line he gives her 'to translate' was great. Looking forward to the next!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much!I think, with Severus, it's good to hold your tongue and wait for him to decide to speak, LOL.
This is an incredibly beautiful and well-written story. Quite the change from the normal fanfic faire and I enjoyed it immensely!
I am pleased that I found it whole and did not have to wait for the suspense of the next chapter! :)
Thank you for sharing this.

I love it! Loving how their hush-hush relationship can simmer for a bit.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you! Grin. Simmer, simmer, UST and tension :D
Good chapter, Ginny and Hermione's speculation on the selkie's sex lives made me laugh.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Giggle, Thank you. You can tell I attended boarding school during my high school years; this is exactly the sort of scene I remember with my friends!! Well, minus the selkie bit :D
Now that was a very nice idea! It reminded me of my own "arrange playtime for our kids" talk with other mothers... ;-)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much!
