Reviews for The Silvering Divide
Wow, that was a twist that I didn't expect. So Severus is part selkie...
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Grin. Indeedy... Eileen adapted her name slightly from Leenash... I hope you enjoy the rest of the story, given the twist :D
I love the psychoanalysis Hermione gave the Dark Lord. Nice to see a different line of thought as to the who's and whys of that man. Animal abuse is a sign of many things by the way, including, but not limited to spousal abuse.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thanks. Like I said, I don't claim to be an expert, but I had fun reading it up on wikipedia and spinning the notion that the Dark Lord ticked the boxes :D
Hey, Balrog was quite the character in LotR. It's nice to see a nod to that story too. I'm having a lot of fun reading this.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Chuckles. Thank you... I like giving the nod to other fantasy books I love.Thank you, for leaving me a note to let me know you're enjoying, and for reading :D
I loved the conversation between the two. It seemed so real and possible.

Thank you!
How interesting. I'm looking forward to reading more about selkies.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
I hope you enjoy the selkie-world I've created here! Thanks for reading.
Ooh, dueling lessons! And trust Hermione to start teaching herself mermish. Very canon so far! (With the exception of the obvious changes)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much. I'm a big fan of canon, so your comment made me smile a lot :D

I like the way he is slowly becoming more relaxed around her, letting her in. :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you... I like a slow development in a story... and a little UST never hurt anybody, did it?
I loved the "Squash for wizards" part... Thanks!

Thank you so very much; there are two chapters in the queue at present, so there should be an update forthcoming :)
Gorgeous imagery! Now, why isn't Hermione reflecting a little more on Severus' ancestry? Just wondering. Loving this story!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thanks so much :) She is reflecting, but she's not quite sure what to make of his ancestry at the moment.
Charlie and the Dragon. Sounds like a child's book! The interaction between Snape and Hermione is fascinating. :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Chuckles. Charlie/Draco is one of my favourite side-pairings.Thanks so much :D

Like this.Think Hermione could have also told Harry that she at least knows Snape reads his letters, having witnessed one such occasion during a detention, since as far as Harry knows Snape could just be incinerating them without ever opening them. That would give him a little hope.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much for reading!
I am so fascinated by your story! It is so different than all of the others. I am really enjoying reading about the selkies...I've never really thought about the mer-people before! Also, I agree with the other reviewers - your character development is great, true to form, and this is a very intriguing post-DH story, plausible as well. Of course, I love HGSS but thus far I would really like the story even if there wasn't a proposed future for them. Really, I am just so interested in the selkies - and wondering if this is a deep secret regarding Snape's family history? I can't wait to see how the story unfolds!
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you so much--there is a huge world under that lake, I promise you :DI'm glad the characterisation rings true for you. Snape's history will unfold as the story progresses, yes!
wonderful update. too bad they don't have access to the internet in hogsmead! thanks so much and i so look forward to the next update.
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you for reading!
Ohhh, you revealed a tiny bit, just a tiny bit! Could the name Prince come from Leenash being a princess??? Oooh, dying to find out!And the Balrog thing was adorable :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Just a tiny bit, yes :DBalrog creeps me out hugely. I shuddered writing that bit! Thanks so much for reading!
Interesting story so far. Can't wait to see an update when you have the time. :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thank you--I'm so glad you're enjoying it!
Great chapter. And by the way, Timtams can definitely be used for sucking up your tea through, but I think thats a waste of a perfectly good chocolate biscuit! They come in all sorts of yummy flavours now. The chewy caramel centre is especially good. :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Thanks :DChuckles. I can't say that I've ever tried it that way. My favourites are the original ones, but the caramel ones are good, too!
I'm thinkin' what they are thinkin'! :)
Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)

Response from Somigliana (Author of The Silvering Divide)
Always. Hermione does seem to love a good mystery. Thanks for reading!
