A rainy day in winter. Hermione, lying ill in bed, is haunted by memories of the past and makes a final decision. This is a sequel to "Unkissed".

Thanks for the warning but even with it I can't help but cry because it's so beautiful and poignant. My throat is so tight I can't even breathe normally. You are such an amazing storry teller. So a thousand thanks for all the brilliant work you do.

Actually, I don't think it's sad - at least not sadder than any death ever is. Death is rarely kind, dying often is nasty and humiliating. So such a proud, independent death seems rather nice. Rather beautiful and satisfying.Wish all of us were granted such a death.

I totally agree with you. I wanted them make their own decision, and I am glad no one seems angry with me.Thanks for reviewing!

Oh my! Truly beautiful! Should include warnings about reading at work as I began to tear up. I love the rose dying (very Beauty & the Beast) and the picture at the end was especially moving. Wonderful job!
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I gave up reading fanfic at work as once, I couldn't help to laugh out loud. Equally embarrassing, believe me ;-)Thanks so much for reviewing!

Ironically today is gloomy and cloudy in Las Vegas (rarely happens). I think Mother Nature is shedding a few tears for our favorite couple. Beautiful ending but I really think you should have added a link to a tissue coupon....I'm another reader reduced to tears!
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Well, I warned you ;-) Hope that helps: http://www.flippeez.com/ecommerce/catalog/images/Tissue%20Box%20-%20Wizard.jpgThanks for reviewing!

What a beautifully tender end. Thank you so much. I loved the ending with the rose. It reminded me of the rose in 'Beauty and the Beast' and I suppose it shrivelling up signifies the end of the enchantment? The literal ending of the stasis spell and the figurative 'spell' that was the love that they shared in their 'real world' before they moved on. I thought that the epilogue in the previous story was a great ending, but this surpasses it, well and truly.Cheers.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Hi, reets, thanks so much for your nice words. Yes, that the rose dies resembles their death: the stasis spell is lifted when Severus takes his final breath. Initially, I had this planned as an independant one-shot, but then I decided to link it to Unkissed. Thanks for liking and reviewing!Oh, and I will get back to you later today ;-)

Oh, so beautiful. This was probably the most realistic and most touching story I've read of Hermione and Severus growing old and leaving this world. I hope you will go on writing, 'cause you obviously have great talent.

Thank you so very much. And you can count on some more stories from me. I am hooked. Bewitched. I cannot NOT write ;-)

Oh, my.You made me cry, you evil, evil person.I read all three stories and thought you did an amazing job in the telling. But still, you made me cry.I even read the poem at the end all the way through and I never do that. Well done.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Well, that happens if you ignore my warnings *g* I never let my readers walk into nasty traps...In case you don't know the song that goes with the poem, listen to it. It makes me cry whenever I hear it. It's from the film "Lord of the rings".Thanks so much for reviewing!

Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
My beta shell thought I would let one of them die after just a short time together - couldn't believe she considered me that cruel *g* Dying together after a long and satisfying life - I think they earned that. Both of them. Thanks for reviewing!

Oh gads! You did give us a warning, and I compleyely disregarded it! You don't just need a tissue for this stroy - You need a box of them! This was just so unbarable touching - and sad.

You made me cry! I usually try not to read stories that I know will make me cry, but I couldn't stop reading this, I had to see what happened. I hope you'll add more stories about what happens between 'Unkissed' and 'Journey's End' besides of course the one where Sasha is introduced. I really like how you write and portray the characters. Keep up the brilliant work. Cheers!
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
At least two more sequels, one with Sasha and Sam, one with Ron and Harry. And then there'll be a variation of the original story. Yes, I know, I have to find to write them. But I will, promise.I'm mad. Bugger ;-)Thanks for reviewing!

That was just beautiful. I loved "Unkissed" and while very sad, this was a lovely coda to that story. Thank you for the initial warning, though.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I rarely let my readers walk in a trap. Sometimes, I hold warnings back until the last minute, but I warn them. Thanks for liking both Unkissed and this one!

Oh, I am glad I didn't beta that and only got to see the final version. I am totally crying my eyes out. I'm sure if I looked at a calendar I would see why I am so emotional, but this story is fabulous.
It is also a perfect example of dignity through death. Not everyone should be forced to live a painful life through terminal disease if they choose not to.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I completely agree with you. Helping someone to die is a crime in Germany, but it isn't in Switzerland. Therefore, many travel to the neighbour's country to get the death they wish for. In my opinion, it is everyone's private decision to do so.And dear, I thought you earned a break from my writing :-)

That made me cry. It was beautiful and it made me cry. I believe after that, you totally owe us the Ron/Harry story.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
