A rainy day in winter. Hermione, lying ill in bed, is haunted by memories of the past and makes a final decision. This is a sequel to "Unkissed".

Reviews for Journey's End
I must say, I didn't like this story because it's sad and an ending. I so dislike stories that make be cry, but I image on that was your aim. To move the reader to tears.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Well, I did put a warning at the beginning... you might have liked to take it seriously before reading a story that also states "CHaracter Death". Thank you for reviewing anyway.
I just reread all three stories. My daughter just shook her head at me and asked why I reread a story that makes me sob. I tried to explain that it is just that well written. you. Thank
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Glad you like the stories enough to reread them - Thank you for this, and for leaving a review! *hugs*

Thanks, dear!
Last night I found the first story and I just finished reading the last. I got choked up when you stated that this story was going to be sad, then I started reading it and started crying. Amazing how you can get so wrapped up in these characters that these emotions can overwhelm you. Amazing story, thanks for sharing.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Thank you for reading the stories, especially this one. And thank you for telling me it gripped you. That's why I write; that's why I still post.
This is sad, but fitting. The truly sad part was that Hermione was not ready to die. Thank you very much.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Who is ever ready to die? And she welcomed death in the end, I think. IMO, they live on as ghosts ;-)Thanks for reviewing and a happy new year!

I cried for 10 minutes. It was sad and good at the same time. I'm still crying as I type this. Excellent heart-warming sequel. I really enjoyed reading it. Please do another multi-chapter SS/HG fic.
Author's Response: Uh, sorry for having made you cry. Althoug I really love to get reviews for this story ;-I
I did a few multi-chaptered SS/HG fics, all to be found here. Currently, I am working on my third original story, so not much time for fandom. However, eventually I will post what lingers on my harddrive.
Thanks for reading and reviewing!
DarmioneFan's response: You're welcome.
Don't know really what to say. The first thing coming to my mind was something like "you miserable bastard!". Because how can you do this, ending the second story with a cloud of fluff, that leaves me grinning lighthearted only to find an innocent little link, following which has me crying short time later. Had a bad feeling reading the title but didn't expect to have to face sad personal memories in a fanfiction. But that's my problem. To you: Extremely well done, thank you very much!
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I like innocent looking little links ;-) Sorry for having written sth that grieved you. I take my ideas out of real life; occasionally, those ideas lead me to write dark stories. There are some others amongst my stories, but I always put the proper warnings up.Thanks for following the link, thanks for reading the story, and many thanks for reviewing!
Well it's stories like this that make me hope there is an afterlife for characters and they get to be together. Didn't expect my morning to start with tears
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Sorry for having made you cry... And a total yes for the hope of an afterlife! Thanks for reviewing!
sad yes, but beautifully written. and just how i would have wanted it to end...very satisfying. thanks so much
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I had the story outlined before I wrote Unkissed, then found this fic to be the perfect end for a life full of love and tenderness. Thank you so much for reviewing!

Thank you for the most unwelcome CRY! =( That was so moving, and with the rose at the end? That was just evil and now my husband is going to wake up wondering why I'm in the office crying like a first year.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Hmmm, I like to be evil!Sometimes. Now go and read sth funny. Or sexy. Or both ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
Well, I've just spent all night reading this trilogy. Wonderfully written as always. Of course, I'm in tears right now with the ending of this.I love that song. When my six year old was a bit younger we would listen to it and I would sing the chorus and we would wave our hands around to express the words. She still remembers it when she hears it.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Sorry for having made you cry, and thanks for reading the stories! I love the song, too. But it makes me sad, and I thought it is perfect for this sad story. Thanks for reviewing, dear!
why did i read this?! *sob*
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Sorry for making you sorry. I think I gave a proper warning at the beginning ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
Response from Iamgin (Reviewer)
You did give a proper warning...but like a fool I was intrigued. :P Although it is a testament to your abilities that I shed a few tears as I read this. So good job. Good, sad job. ;)
That is a beautiful ending. Of course I'm crying, but it is beautiful.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I think I will have to write something fluffy for the years in between - I received far too many tears for this story :-)Thanks so much for reviewing!
Gah sad is right it made me cry.And agian I say you are a great writer.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)

Gutwrenching sequel.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I truly hope "gutwrenching" is meant in a positive way, as much as you can call a story about death and loss positive ;-)Thanks for reviewing!

*wipes off the tears to see the keyboard*It's a sad ending, but so ... right, too. And it does remind one that everyone is mortal - and no matter how long and wonderful one's life has been, it will come to an end some day. At least they had a choice, and stayed together.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Your words caused goosebumps appear on my arms - thanks for that! I wanted to write something sad, but I didn't expect people would shed tears over it...Thangs!

I don't know what you were talking about when you said you should apologize. This was the perfect ending. Bitter, romantic and sweet. I am glad that Severus decided, becuase it wouldn't be right for him to live, and mourn, when he would miss her so much, but I am glad that they had so many children and such happy lives, evn though it made the ending so sad, to show all that they had left behind. It makes you wish that they could have lived forever with their love. I started crying halfway through, and I am still half blinded by tears. It was beautiful. Thanks so much for writing this, and unkissed, and that valentines one, as well. And, um. sorry, this seems to be on the long side again, and I basically went over the whole story, but anyway, I loved it, totally and completely.Whew! Okay, wipe tears, blow nose, apologize for run-on sentences, like usual. Check, check, and check. Okay, ~the end
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
I love long reviews! And I apoligised because of the bitterness in the story and because I wanted to warn readers as early as possible that this is not a happy tale. I wondered how Snape should die - really die, not the horrible death imagined by Ms Rowlins - and came up with this. After a long, happy life, a life worth living and a life not lived alone. I am glad you liked it, and thanks again for taking the time to review in detail.

Well, crap. You made me cry. You know how many fanfics have made me cry? I can't think of another, and I've been reading fanfics for nearly a decade. *sigh* It is a good story, though. I'm not angry about it at all. Because you gave them a good life, and death is inevitable, after all. I do feel terrible for Sasha, though.

Author's Response: Thanks a lot for reading against better judgement - I warned you, didn't I? Of course it was my sole intention to stirr up emotions. And yes, I feel horrible for Sasha, too.
Very very sad but a fitting end to their love story. Well done and thank you.
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
My pleasure. The first sad, but not dark story I have written so far. I'm glad you liked it!

Sad it is indeed but, beautiful too. I am telling my age when I say it reminds me of song by John Denver most commonly known as Annie's Song "Come let me love you, let me give my life to you, let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms, let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you, come let me love you..." In my opinion the ultimate love song and fitting to your story of ultimate love. Beautiful! Irish

Hi, Irish,*g* Thanks for telling me about the song, or rather, reminding me. Have to find it between my vinyls and listen to it again...Thannks for reviewing!

That was a beautiful ending to that story line. I had definitely wondered if they truly had stayed together, and they had. Sadly, I do try to stay away from the death of either Severus or Hermione due to me trying to flee the feelings of sadness.. but this was not qute that bad. They lived together for a very long time, and then died together. I would have liked Severus to stay alive after her, and that sadly made me have to lower my rating, but that is the only reason that it is so low. It was beautifully done, and thank you for letting me know that there was indeed a sequel. =)
Response from chivalric (Author of Journey's End)
Usually, I don't write about death, at least not about their death. And I couldn't let Snape stay alive - he loved her too much and he decided to end his life at a point where he chose it, not waiting for a maybe more cruel death. His decision - he's the sort of man who always needs to take life in his own hands. Or death. Thanks for reviewing!
