Hi all!
Currently, I am off work to take care of my son who is ill. I read, write and draw Harry Potter fanfiction to distract myself.
Thanks for taking a peek at my stories! :) Comments are much appreciated and eventhough I have moved on to a different fandom (for now) I come here often to read your kind words.

Oh, this has been such an intriguing and wonderfully written story. It is really sad to know that it won`t be continued, as the premise was most excellent. Loved it.Thank you very much for what we did get, though. Fabulously done!

I was just thinking about this story and checked to see if there was an update - it will continue, I hope? It's so original, I have been looking foward to more of it!

Thank you for enquiring my dear Veronica!I have decided to finish the entire story before posting another chapter. I feel there was too much gap between my chapters, and I felt it would be better to post every three to four days to keep the flow going. So, once it is done, you will see an update often!Again, thanks for asking! It's great motivation to get it finished asap! :)

Re-visiting this amazing story.
Regretfully, no updates were forthcoming since this last one. Nonetheless, thank you for sharing that which you did.
“Tell me to stop,” he whispered huskily and flinched as though he wanted to spring at her again.....This cold, hostile, solitary powerful wizard needed her.....He was becoming utterly undone. For Hermione, there was no aphrodisiac more powerful.....Without a hint of hesitation, she pulled him into her embrace, pressing herself to him firmly as if trying to extinguish his solitude with the visceral soothing of her presence.....Hot Damn! Now we're gettin' somewhere! My heart breaks for Madam Pince, she has carried a torch for Professor Snape for so long. And now that Hermione has sussed out her secret, she is planning how to help the librarian. Where will all of Hermione's good-heartedness lead our intrepid threesome? And how about the good Professor? After having taken matters in hand "the thought of her being so wildly and openly responsive to him, one last image of her eyes gleaming with lust for him, wet lips parted, sent him over the edge."Poor guy! He has got to "screw his courage to the sticking place" (to paraphrase Lady McBeth) and go after Hermione and let her know he not only needs her, he wants her!Wonderful chapter, OpalJade! I can't wait for the next update—I'm having more fun than a barrel of monkeys!Beth

Hermione and Irma are going to get all tangled up in each other's little plots, aren't they? That will be quite interesting.
Response from OpalJade (Author of Mercury Poisoning)

Oh, I'm almost afraid to find out what little plot Hermione thinks will help! And how sad is a lifelong crush from afar.... I am sorry Irma destroyed the evidence--as pathetic as it might have been to find, it would have clarified the real identity of Mercury.I love the image of the starving man devouring the feast before him. He so needs to go back for seconds! (and thirds, and dessert, and coffee, and breakfast....)Now that he has the note, will he show up anyway? And how are you going to bring them together!!Tell your RL it has to get out of the way--you have readers to satisfy!!!!
Response from OpalJade (Author of Mercury Poisoning)
Your review made me grin ear to ear! I very much like the idea of Snape going back for seconds and thirds etc... such a lovely image! There might be a few misunderstandings before everyone is ready to have breakfast and coffee together ;)Thanks so much for your fabulous review!(I'll pass on your message to my RL!)

Oh, Poor Irma. That is really sad... the lonliness. Well, hell, all of them have that in them! I loved how he kissed her! Roar. I love it when he takes her like that!
So happy to see this here, can't wait for more. And now Hermione has an idea in her mind to help Irma!! Aye yi yi!

She could sense his hunger, like a man preparing to eat after a long fast. That Hermione would be the feast was too bizarre for her to comprehend. She couldn’t even compete with a chocolate frog when she was with Ron, and now this man, her snarky professor, had looked at her like he wanted to devour her as if she were the Welcoming Feast.I adored that paragraph! There was longing, and ambivalence, and sadness, and even humour. I am enjoying this story so much! I can't wait to find out what Hermione gets up to.
Response from OpalJade (Author of Mercury Poisoning)
I don't want to get too mushy with you my dear emmeline, but your kind words really moved me. I think it's because I really worked hard to write this chapter through some difficult times... and it really touched me that you felt so many emotions from that one paragraph. I'm also thrilled that you're enjoying the story! Thanks so much for your lovely review! :)

Gah! I just found this story and am utterly entranced. Your writing is simply amazing-- I laughed out loud at several parts. Am enjoying immensely!!! I myself do feel a bit sorry for Madam Pince (and I love the depth you have brought to her character)-- but, as always, I am rooting for sshg! Can't wait for your next update. ~kizzy

Oh wow that was some heat they generated in the back alley behind the pub, whew! I love how the machinations of Madame Pince are wreaking havoc with our pair, and now Hermione has something up her sleeve as well. It's all very intriguing. I was so happy to recieve an email that this story had been updated, thank you so much for a great chapter!!

Merlin! I love this story! You write with pathos in all the right places, with humour when a tension reliever is needed, and with remarkable attention to character detail throughout! I want to see what happens when Hermione happens on Severus on the far side of the tavern's back door. In a perfect world, he and she would jump each other's bones right there in the alley. Or he would Appirate them to Treacle Cottage for some serious snogging and sex.*sign* Can you tell how much I love SSHG?Great, great writing!BethPS- I wonder what effect Madam Pince's note to Severus will have? Will she be found out?

The sadness of the parents and friends of those who lost their lives in the War was palpable. I was happy to see Molly and Andromeda helping Mrs Creevey in her grief. A new era has dawned, and bloodlines have no meaning, and that was a beautiful way to show it.Sadness aside, there were quite a few things that had me either smiling or laughing out loud:(1) Remy was already happily heading towards the basement door, and if elves had tails, his would be wagging frantically. (2) Remy poked his head in swiftly when he heard a noise coming from the family room, hoping to be of service again, but Snape waved him off with a hand gesture that looked like he was swatting a fly. Remy smiled brightly and waved back before retreating behind the door again.(3) And last but certainly not least, booze makes Severus HORNY as hell. And he and Hermione are going to soon be drinking in the same tavern. It doesn't get any better than this!Very well done, OpalJade! Now I have to go read the next chapter. Beth

Thank you so much for another wonderful review Beth.Once again, I'm very happy that you were able to put into words exactly what I was trying to convey during the sad scene at the Ceremony. I'm also glad that you found some humour in there as well! And yes, alcohol makes Snape horny as hell! lol!

"Hermione Granger couldn’t have been more shocked if Madam Pince had pulled up her sleeve and revealed the Dark Mark on her forearm."You made me laugh out loud!I can't help feeling sorry for Madam Pince and her unrequited feelings for Professor Snape. And I'm afraid that the events she is setting in motion with her plan to lure him back to in interest in academia (and thus to her library) via a "collaborative relationship" with Hermione Granger will backfire and cause her pain.I don't believe I've ever read a story featuring the librarian in a central role, and I like the way you are putting her personality traits to such good use in your story line. What will happen when Hermione approaches Severus about discussing his heavy metals research with her? I'm guessing there may be sparks a-flying to begin with, but hopefully the sparks will turn into flames of love... they are my favorite couple, after all. This is such a good beginning and I have to run—RUN I TELL YOU— to the next chapter!Beth

Dearest Beth, I can't tell you what a pleasant surprise it was for me to find these reviews this morning! I am beyond thrilled that you are reading my story. :)I am also amazed that you were able to pinpoint so eloquently what Madam Pince's intentions were! Research =Library. As far as Madam Pince's plan backfiring and causing her pain? I guess that's a risk she's willing to take. I think she's given up on the idea of Snape 'for herself' and now she's settling for just "seeing" him more often.Thank you so much for your incredible review and your enthusiasm for the next chapter. You've made my day! :)

What a great read. Very original and funny, as your previous chapters. Feels like we actually were in the tavern to witness the scene. Looking forward to another great read in chapter 4.ps: You made me crave a Veela Vodka. What's in it?

This is a great premise -- Irma as matchmaker, for reasons that make her so much more human than she appears in the books.

Fantastic, my dear! How I love seeing it on the blue screen--such a silly thing, but I do.
And I adore little Remy the house-elf. If you can figure out a way to keep him in the story in some capacity, I'd be very happy. I don't know, as I generally despise the little things, but he's a gem.
So many of your descriptions are evocative and graceful. You're a very talented writer!
Author's Response: My dearest lulabelle, thank you so much for all of your help with this story...I have learned so much from you!
I am beyond touched by your kind words...I might cry! (and after meeting me in person a few days ago, you know this to be a very true fact!)
Yes, let's try to keep Remy involved!

Very interesting take on the various states of mind (and heart) following the war! And lots of layers to this story already--how many chapters are you planning? Some very fun lines, too, including, "Pomona’s long list of entrée ideas, an amazing number of which involved cheese in some form."Cheese, indeed! Looking forward to more!
Response from OpalJade (Author of Mercury Poisoning)
Thanks for this wonderful review! It's such a compliment that you find my story to be both layered AND humourus! My outline (how sterile!) indicates that Hg Poisoning will have approximately twenty chapters (but Lariope tells me that sometimes these things can mushroom out of control!)
