Hermione Granger, new Hogwarts librarian, has inherited the unenviable task of archiving parts of Hogwarts' neglected archives. There, she uncovers a manuscript by Salazar Sytherin and finds that his injunctions against Muggles aren't exactly what everyone has always assumed them to be. Unable to quite believe it herself, no one else believes her until, in a bizarre set of circumstances, the author himself appears and begins to meddle in Hermione's life.

Reviews for Schrödinger's Snake
Ah, sneaky Slytherin! How can he manipulate? Let me count the ways.I look forward to the next chapter.
This is a really interesting story so far, I very much look forward to future updates!
She really should have known better.
Yuck! She kissed Salazar? Ewew..... coniving little creep. Hermione is way over her head with this twerp.
LOL. I'm looking forward to more of Sal's schnanigans. Just the thought of Severus potentially being out-Slytherined, and Hermione knowing she's being completely played.... hoo hoo! Oh, yes. Let the good times roll! Great job!
Sal is cool. Sev needs to take notes and learn from a master!
I'm loving this!!! More soon, I hope!
but how intriguing he made no comment about her being muggle-born. i love the way you write sal...he is the sltherin! thanks so much for the delightful update and i look forward to the next chapter.
Burned by the original indeed! Severus and Salazar seem to be well suited for this challenge. Neither of them trusts the other. Hermione had better learn quickly! She's a quick study, so I bet she will.
Wow, what a great chapter. This is really such a cool plot, I'm really looking forward to the next chapter!!!gab
Yay! An update! I love this story! It's so clever. I find Sal quite endearing! Keep up the great work!
Yeah! An update! If you are going to be bested by a Slytherin, at least it should be the original. Very nice chapter. I look forward to an update.
Okay, I already loved this story, but now I LOVE THIS STORY.Please continue!
Poor Snape What will Sal get up to next, I wonder? Looking forward to the next episode.
Sal is very sly. I like it. With Severus I'm not sure if he is jealous of Sal because he is so popular or just very suspicious of his motives but Sal is Slytherin so of course he has motives. Maybe I'm just confused or something. I so love this story.
I am absolutely trilled to see this update, it is a magnificient plot:-))
Slytherin lives up to his image. I can just imagine Hermione getting lost in the moment with him.
wow! this is great!!!
That was truly funny. I hope you intended it to be humorous.
Looks like he should have listened to Godric and ocnsidered the holes being poked in his theory. Please update this, I'd really rather like to see Salazar's reaction to modern times and magic. :p
So what he seems to be saying is not that they should avoid mixing with Muggles, but that they should avoid NOT mixing with Muggles? And the purity concept doesn't apply to blood, but to talent? But what he really seems to be saying is that all witches should remain virgins because if they don't their power would be tainted? But that would lead to the wizarding population dying out, wouldn't it? If all wizards marry Muggle women and have children, then half of that generation would be girls who shouldn't reproduce and that would only leave half as many wizards in the next generation, and half as many again in the next and the next and the next. I am so confused! The point though must definitely be that he thought a primarily halfblood wizarding population was definitely the way to go.
Now that's an idea I've never seen written before! I like that. Very interesting start, and I wonder about Severus, giving handy hints seemingly randomly like that. I wonder if he knows more than he's letting on...Oh, and I nearly forgot, the bit about knowledge threw me for a loop. As a not-native english speaker I only know the meaning of the word as in 'stuff we know and stuff we've learned'. I had to consult a couple of dictionaries to figure what you meant there. I was a bit surprised not to find some sort of explanation in the A/N section at the end, but I don't know if it's just my own naturally limited vocabulary or if it's... common knowledge (hur hur hur!)
I like it very much so far, keep going. I'd like to find out where you'll lead us.

Wow. I liked Slytherin's pov. He's not the founder of his house for nothing. Quite crafty, that one.

He's got more than his arms up his sleeves, that's for sure! :-)

Now wouldn't that turn the Wizarding world on its ear? There would be bedlam in the streets!

It would certainly create some strong reactions! ;-) Thank you for the review.
