I'm a 26-year-old Accounts Payable manager for a construction company. Basically, I'm paid to write checks and intimidate the menfolk around here. I live with my boyfriend and our dog. I wasn't sucked into the HP fandom until just after the release of HBP. So, I'm a newbie compared to most of the fans out there. I've written in several other fandoms (under different pennames) - Anita Blake, Buffy, X-Files, etc.

Great start! This fic is really fitting my mood today. It's been drizzling all morning and I've been feeling rather melancholy. I loved the reactions of the various characters to what Hermione saw. I thought that Harry and Ron were spot on, as well as Hermione. That last line that Hermione delivered at the end of the chapter was amazing. Well done.

Thank you! I live in New Mexico and in July/August we have monsoons almost daily. It will be nice and sunny all day, and then sometime between 5:00 and 8:00, the clouds will roll in and drop rain at an alarming rate. It only lasts for about 30 minutes, but it's heavy. So, the weather played a part in the mood of the fic, especially in the first few chapters when I constantly wrote rain into the story. Anyway, glad you're enjoying it so far!
Great start, was it him that she saw?! Can't wait to see what happens next. We all love a bit of a romantic Snape, so looking foward to that part of the story!

In the next chapter there will be a confrontation between Hermione and the man in the cafe which will answer almost all the questions about what happened to Snape after the gang left his body in the Shrieking Shack that night. I hope you continue to enjoy it!
An excellent start. I can't wait to see where you take this. As for making Snape romantic, I think someone who has stayed true to their childhood love for close to 30 years can be safely considered romantic (obsessive and other stuff as well, too but certainly romantic) :)

That's one of the reasons I love DH. He's still a snarky bastard, but we don't have to go way OOC to make him all romantic. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of the fic as I post it.
