I really like the premise of this story.  The first chapter did feel like we jumped feet first into the story - a little rushed.  It was all very well written.  I just found myself asking loads of questions before I got to the end.  Of course...as a wonderful author you may have planned that. ;)

I love stories that throw Hermione and Snape into the same house together. It always allows for such delicious tension!

I can't wait for Snape to make an appearance. I'm sure he will have plenty to say about the matter.  

Adding Ginny into the mix is a good angle. One of the things I like about your writing is that you always seem to peg Harry correctly. It's a given that preDH Harry will have an animosity towards Snape, but you always do a credible job of getting him to come around.

I love the premise so far, and with Ginny's condition in the mix time is of the absolute essence. Wonderful job pacing; nice intensity. I look forward to reading more of this story, Southern! You've got me on tenterhooks already. :)

Good prologue.  It is a prologue, right?  *snicker*  I'm looking forward to what happens, and I'm happy you are going ahead and posting regardless of DH.  (No spoilers intended.  To those who haven't yet finished the book, I have a handy set of manacles that should keep you pretty focused on your task.  Oh, and 10 points from whatever house you're in for not completing your assignment on time...)

This is one of the most touching and exciting HG/SS chapters I've ever read.Needless to say I love this story. I love the way you portrait the characters and their relationship. For me it is very believable.

I started reading this about a month ago but then it got lost and I never got to finish it. I'm reading it again and so far it's really good. I love the characterization of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Thank you for not making Harry a saint--he's definitely not perfect in canon. And thanks for not making Ron completely horrible, because he does have some good qualities!
