I liked it a lot, but...I'm not gonna lie...kinda creepy. Hopefully there was a good reason for it.
Again, I have to tell you how much I LOVE this story. Even though the slow build is killing me, it is actually believable and perfect. I find myself going back between new posts and re-reading my favorite sections, so I don't go insane waiting for new installments. That isn't to say I wish you would hurry up (well, maybe I wish that a little) -- but the quality of this story is so good that I wouldn't want to rush you for anything. Thank you for writing this. It's amazing!

Thank you! It's hard for me not to throw them together, I admit it, but the SS/HG stories I've always liked best are those that take enough time to present a believable progression of their relationship. That's what I've been hoping to do. It's made my day to hear that you're enjoying it so much! :)
Wow, this is an excellent story, wonderfully executed, normally I don't much care for stories where one character is already in love with another, but you have absolutely sold me on this story. I also adore your turn of phrase, sentences such as "I'd let slip the last vestiges of my sanity" just underline what a great writer you are. It goes without saying that I look forward greatly to your next chapter.
Okay, that is no way to leave your audience hanging! I love this story and I can't wait to see their romance progress....more please! Soon!

I'm new to this site, so I'm still looking over all the stories here. I'm really enjoying this story so far. I usually don't like to read stories in 1st person, but this is the first one I've ever come across that I really love. I usually don't read them because the only way to know what another character is thinking or feeling, is by what the main character says happens. I can hardly imagine what's going through Severus' head ever since he learned of Hermiones' feelings for him. I also wonder if Hermione will follow through with her idea of revenge against Umbridge for what was done during the trial.

I'm glad you're enjoying it despite the first-person narration. Initially I wrote the first chapter in third person limited omniscient, switching over to Severus' viewpoint when he was a young child, but I started thinking that it might be more suspenseful emotionally if I focused on Hermione, especially as their relationship begins to grow. I can understand the desire to view Severus' viewpoint as well, but I think it adds an additional element of awareness to view him solely through her eyes because he becomes much more unpredictable and mysterious. Or maybe that's just me. :P

No, it's definitely not just you. I see where you're coming from on this, and I agree with you completely. I think it definitely adds to the emotional suspense just to see things from Hermiones' eyes. I think you were very creative on this.

I hope you don't think I missed the late afternoon walk, at the beginning of this chapter! Even then, Hermione is already plotting to make herself more attractive to Snape. The way she handled the whole thing was excellent, start to finish.
Hmm, bet he's more interested than annoyed with her. Can't wait to see what comes next.

great chapter!i feel sorry for hermione. it's somewhat strange reading a snape/hermione pairing but this is one of the best i've read. i can't wait for the ball. I wonder what song they'll be playing. (may i suggst elliott yamin's "wait for you"? it seems ti fit hermione's emotions.)

It's ironic you should mention a song, because it was a song that gave me the idea for the fic. :P I hadn't planned to use any song in particular during the ball, but I listened to "Wait for You," and it is amazingly fitting. Thank you! :)

Wow...I've been bewitched by this one, reading straight through so intensely I can't even recall blinking! The summary sure doesn't give this page-trurner away! I never suspected I would be sucked right in like I was! You simply *must* update soon...very good characterization and 1st person POV! Five stars all the way through, and good use of nasty old Deplorable Dolores too!~HR

She is very effective as a vile plot point, isn't she? :P My sincere thanks for the compliment about the narration. When I first posted I was worried that everyone would dislike the first-person POV.

What more can I say, another excellent chapter. I was completely immersed in Hermione's POV, and the tension was quite palpable. I can't wait to see Hermione's plan for the Yule Ball.

Who !!!! Another reveiwer said that chapter seven ginny in the bed room could have been snape. I had to go back and reread it. Oh my goodness she is right it could be SHOCK! Oh my goodness agin and chapter 8 well talk about a mature way to deal with it i think it say's somthing about the writer that she could come up with that i am 30 years old. Im still waiting to get that mature i think i'll be waiting a wial more.Awsome story.
