Agoraphobia – The abnormal fear of being helpless in a situation from which escape may be difficult that is characterized initially by panic or anxiety and finally by avoidance of open or public places. As a result, severe suffers of agoraphobia may become confined to their homes, experiencing difficulty traveling from this “safe place.”

I am just a fan who likes to tell stories.I don't pretend to be an author and I may not even be very good at it, but I enjoy it. It gives me a break from real life.

Well. Mot is no happy Christmas elf is he? I knew Lucius was the bad guy, I hope Narcissa gets away from him.
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)

What a complex, moving story. It is very well written and just completely different from everything else I've read. Bravo on such a fine story. Can't wait to read more.

... holy hell ... what a story ... *shudders*I wonder who did that to Hermione and Severus and if they will ever be able to recover.
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Thanks. Can someone recover from this type of torture, I think it will be more learning to deal with it. Thanks for reviewing.

I was just thinking about Agoraphobia today and wanting to read more of it. You have excellent timing. Severus seems oddly lucid having just returned from thirteen years of torture, but I'm sure it will make sense once we discover exactly how he was controlled by his captor. I know, he's had a month to recover alone, but it still seemed like he was really... the word left me. We'll go with lucid again. He seemed very lucid for someone who was just talking to Albus as if no one else were there. But I'm probably just being nit-picky. It's just, I don't understand the mysterious villain's point in torturing Severus for all those years if it's being done in such a way that he doesn't really remember it. Wouldn't he want his victim to be aware of their own suffering. I think I've been sort of assuming that the villain was some former Death Eater who wanted to punish Severus for being a traitor. Well, I suppose I'll find out :)
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
It will make sense. Severus was not Obliviated like Hermione was. So the memories are there. I tried to show this by his remembering what he had done (brewing potions, raping Hermione) and showing him trying to organize his mind. I may have not done a good job of that, I apologise. It will take time for him to recover the memories. His tormentor never cared if he remembered or not, his plan was to use him and kill him. I hope this helps. Thanks for reviewing.

I wonder if Severus was left so long because the wizard responsible's wife got the jump on him (Narcissa?).
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Um, nope not Narcissa. :) thanks for reviewing.

Firstly, what on earth is Ugaritic? Secondly, why was he left alone so long? Thirdly, wonderful chapter, waiting with bated breath for more :)
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Ugaritic - Not a clue. Found the name on a website. Emmeline33 seems to know, maybe we should ask her :)Can't tell you that yet, but it has to do with bleep bleep bleepity bleep (evil I know)Thank you!

Oh. My. I can't imagine him being like that for so long!I have to say, the three portkeys on his body is sooooo clever! Very smart thinking on your part. So, when is the next chapter? heheheeh
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Thank you. I was wondering what kind of response I would get to a Snape toe ring. lol I always put the new chapter in the queue on Sundays, so far I have been really good about that. Then it is just a mtter of how busy it is. Thanks for the review.

As much as I love and appreciate each chapter, I keep wanting longer and more. The chapters run out of words too quickly!
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
I know, but I try to post every week. I have a limited amount of time to write, so timely updates overrule length. Sorry , Thank you for reading and reviewing :)

Thank you for this chapter, which seemed like some "calm before the storm" interlude to me. I still wonder how such a powerful wizard as Severus Snape could have been held hostage for such a long time and how his tormentor managed to make him do all those atrocious things. Hopefully, he and Hermione will manage to overcome the psychological damage somehow.
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Yes, I think the writer needed a break before the rest is told. The reasons will come out in the next chapter. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Oh my, I would have loved more answears, but I did like the chapter, it gave us a hint of the torture Severus have been through and I think it was necessary to give us some of the torture in small dozes. With the horror the two of them have been through, I think you as the author will have to balance the pace your plot developes. As I said, I would have love to know more, not to mention know it all, but to be absolutely honest, your chapter balanced this story very, very well!! Update again soon!!!!
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
I thought that myself and the readers needed a small break from torture, so this chapter kind of became a filler. Enough to satisfy for the moment. Not enough to overkill the signifigance. Thanks for reviewing and I will :)

Okay, before I read this, I have to say the title of the chapter creeped me out!Okay. I wish the chapter had more detail to it. I felt I was just getting snapshots and they were fuzzy. I hope later chapters will give more depth into what the hell was going on with Snape all this time.Eagerly awaiting your next chapter! :)Livvy

This story originally started as a one-shot that grew. It was going to be titled Terrible Lies. Once I realized there was more to it, I began to title the following chapters from other songs by NIN. The lyrics have nothing to do with the story, but I do try to match the titles to the chapters as best as I can. Everything Snape went through will be explained but mostly by another party. Thanks for reviewing.

OMG, did his tormentor feed the memories to Snape so he would think he did those things to Hermione himself?
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Nope, He really did them. The question is why? Thanks for reviewing.

Mystery, portents of justice, and Ugaritic--things I love in a story! I am glad Severus escaped his captor. I am guessing Malfoy? *bites nails* Waiting for more!

LOL Good maybe you can explain Ugaritic to me and sunny. Thanks for reviewing :)

Way to do the unexpected! I didn't think you'd have Severus escape. Then I spent half the chapter on tenterhooks that he would get blamed for Hermione and it would take forever to get that straightened out. It would be a realy angsty turn, but then so is the way you picked. I like angst very very very much, with a nice promise of maybe some comfort some day.
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)

Oh my God! After all the torture our beloved heroes have been through, only my strong faith in you make me hope that they will manage not only to survive, but to also see some happiness at the end of their ordeal. For the culprit behind this, public shame, humiliation and death are to little, to late. I want him roasting above a slow burning fire while he is neutered by a blunt fork and facing the giant spiders he will know will get what ever is left of him as their evening meal. There ain't punishment strong enough for him and anyone who at anytime would get the crazy idea to speak one word in his favour, should share his faith!!!!!Update again soon!!!
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Ouch. When we learn of the culprit, he will most definitely be sent to you for his punishment, as mine was not this creative. Thanks for reviewing.

That is one sick puppy out there. At first I thought it was a multiple personality issue. Obviously that is not the case. Malfoy seems too easy. I am reserving judgment on who it could be.
Response from silverdoe (Author of Agoraphobia)
Definitely a sick puppy. I hadn't even considered going the MP route. That could have been interesting in this story.

OMG. This is chilling. There went my original thought that the child was Snape's and that Snape did this to Hermione. Now I wonder who the perp is. I look forward to seeing how this story plays out; it's riveting and the writing is great.

Oh bummer! I wish this was so much longer!! Oh, poor Sev--the splinters in the anus was great--I mean, not great like good thing that happened to him, but the detail of it and the squick factor--very good.Oh, Sev... who did this to you? Someone is formulating in my mind, but I can never be sure...Another great chapter.
