Some people believe that love is an amazing gift while others feel that it is the worst curse to befall them. The course of true love never did run smooth. Of course, Hermione could always blame sexually charged teenage witches, Divination and Valentine's Day.

Reviews for The Curse of True Love
I like this story a lot! It's funny and sweet, and I'm looking forward to reading what Snape has to say next chapter. Poor Hermione--that's what you get for listening to Lavender!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
HA HA! I don't think that Hermione truly intended to listen to Lavender, I think it was more 'wrong place, wrong time' sort of thing. Though she's certainly learning to live with the consequences of her own decisions... she can't blame Lav-Lav entirely, afterall.
A fun story. I am enjoying watching Hermione wrestle with her "non-feelings" for Severus. I can't wait to see what happens before midnight to seal the deal. Thanks for sharing, JoAnne

Thank you for reading. Glad that you're enjoying it. :)
This story makes me giggle! I can't wait to read Snape's reaction!

:D Thank you. I'm glad you're liking it.
will you be updating?
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
Yes! I'm sorry. I wrote the next chapter, but I went on vacation before my betas could get it back to me. We all tried. So, I need to go through the edits and then I will be updating, hopefully some time this weekend.

Interesting begining so far. Your stories always have a way of leaving me dying for more. This looks to be just as wonderful.

:) Thank you. Chapter 2 will go up probably some time tomorrow. (Unless, for some reason, I'm able to stay awake tonight to get it done.)

Oh - great idea for a story - loved the 1st chapter and cannot wait to see where all this will go. Fantastic

Thank you so much! :D

Thank you so much! :D
I love the very schoolgirly 'true love's name inked on the back of one's hand' thing. I recently unearthed my old Latin dictionary, and was mortified to discover that I had decorated it with the name of the love interest of the day!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
HA HA HA! Yes, I think that it's a very typical thing for a teenage girl to do, seemed rather fitting. Poor Hermione. Thank yoU!
Woohooo! You rock, mate! You know that I love the premise indeed. I can't wait to see what you do with this. ~hugs excitedly~
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
I know that you do. I hope that you like what else I have in store for them... ;) Thank you, hon.
I didn't actually expect the names to be written on the backs of their hands. *snicker* I wonder what Severus thought about his name almost appearing on the back of Hermione's hand, with little hearts. Obviously some magic was involved, since the 'u' appeared while she was obviously not writing on her hand.I look forward to discovering what Hermione does with this information. I am pretty sure that she's not going to just jump into Severus's arms.
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
LOL! I don't think any of them expected the names to appear on the backs of their hands. And no, she's really not the type to simply jump into his arms. (Though it'd be so much easier if she was!) ;) Thank you!
such a cute story! I can't wait to hear the continuation of this one :)
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
Thank you.
Oh, goodness, what a mess! Allowing Lavender to see the name on Hermione's hand is a unique touch. Waiting for more!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
It is terrible! Poor girl. Thank you!
Oh you're evil to leave it hanging there. I'm hooked.
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
:) Thank you!
I really like this beginning! Right after the girls thought of Seth Smethwyk, I had to leave the computer for a few minutes ad I had the biggest goofy grin on my face, thinking about this story. I was sorry she got the rest of the name so quickly. I was hoping to see some Hermione/Seth meetings. Oh well, maybe you'll write that version another time. Thanks for this!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
:) Well, since the name was going to done by midnight, it had to be a bit quicker, and there were a few other factors in play, of course. ;) Thank you.
Way to go, Ron! I almost cheered when I read the 'glorious compliment' he paid Hermione.Severus's reaction to seeing his name on the back of Hermione's hand was... interesting.I'm very much looking forward to more of this!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
HA HA HA! I do like Ron, truly, but.... LOL! Thank you.
Oh, man. Hermione's going to have a rough time of it, and you know Severus isn't going to believe the truth. (Not that the truth is a good-enough excuse, anyway.) Lovely start!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
Yes, poor Hermione. This is going to be terrible for her. Thanks, Kel! :D
Oh, I LOVE this! Poor Hermione. And I love that it hit her so hard -- I can't wait to see what happens next!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
:) Thank you, Mia!!!!
This was utterly fantastic! How amazing it is to know that wizarding teens act just like we did! ;) This is a fun story, and I can't wait to read chapter two!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
HA HA HA! Thank you, my friend!
Great, sparky start. Looking forward to more! :)
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
Thank you. :)
this is a really great story.Poor Hermione, it must be quite a shock for her. and I wonder if severus realized what the name on her hand means. i'm pretty sure he knows the spell. imagine how he must feel: he just learnt that he is the griffindor know-it-all's "true love". and on Valentine Day! he will be ready to hex anyone who annoys him during the ball. it will make things interesting...
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
Thank you so much! Well, he might not know the reason, but... well, I cannot say more. Not yet anyway. Thanks again!
What a wonderful beginning. I'm totally taken in, and I can't wait to see where you go with this!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
SQUEEE! Thank you so much! :)
The very name intrigues. Especially if you know anything at all about the two principal characters involved. I'm enjoying this so far.
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
:) Thank you! I hope that you continue to enjoy this.
Great start. I can't wait till the Valentine's Ball.
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
Thank you!
Goody, I just love stories like this, and they are so perfect so close to Valentines Day:-) Poor Hermione, or, maybe not so poor Hermione, she has Severus as her true love, if she can just get him to understand that she is his true love, she will be a very lucky girl:-) I wonder if Severus knows something about the spell and its ramifications, his reaction when he saw Hermiones hands had a sligth bit of panic involved? Update very, very soon!!!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
Severus' reaction will be explained eventually, but no, he's not truly familiar with the spell. Thank you so much!
heh-heh! I love it - after so many angsty stories and dead-Snape fics, I need some fluff with a happy ending. Write on!!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
:D Yes, exactly why I needed to write it! No more deadly angst!
Well, I hope Hermione gets the last laugh. I don't think she would have cried in front of Lavender and given her that satisfaction. On the other hand, she is still a teenager. Looking forward to the next installment ... in which I certainly hope Lav-Lav gets what's coming to her! Thanks for your work!
Response from GinnyW (Author of The Curse of True Love)
She's still a teenager, tired, confused and, well... overwhelmed. She won't remain a basketcase through the entire story though. That, I promise. :) Thank you.
