I'm relatively new to fan fiction, only discovering it after reading DH - around August '07. The first fic I read was a DM/HG fic on Pureblood, and second was an SS/HG on Ashwinder. I've been hooked ever since. :)
I still really like both of those pairings, though I tend to read more SS/HG than DM/HG - who can resist the sexy Potions master? :)
I am also attempting to write my own fic - DM/HG - so if you're into that ship, feel free to tell me what you think. And I'm always interested in reading a good fic so if you have any "must read" recs, feel free to drop me a line. I'm always looking for new stories to get hooked on. lol

Nothing like using the wrong grammatical spelling to ruin a reader's attention to the story. If you're wondering which word I'm referring to, it's "rode", not "road". As in, I rode the horse, vs. I ran across the road...Otherwise, I think it was a decent enough story and you did a good job.

Sorry you didn't really care for the story and thanks for pointing out the error - I'll fix it post haste. I know the feeling of being 'pulled out of a story' when you read something completely 'off' all too well, and it definitely is annoying. Thanks for the review.
What a wonderful story! I've rarely seen such excellent handling of prompts; I'm so pleased to see your efforts were rewarded with the win. I'm really new to fanfiction, and I haven't had an opportunity to read many stories. But I clicked on your name via the reviews you left me this morning, and I'm so glad I did! (Although perhaps I shouldn't have read this at 6am; should have waited for tonight when hubby was home!) 
I greatly enjoyed their banter and dialogue throughout the story; I loved seeing Hermione's embarrassment and insecurities, as well as how she managed to overcome them in pursuit of her goal. I adored the way they were both trying to ply the other with alcohol in an attempt to end up in bed together. You did a great job with the lemons, of course, but even better was the care you took in making the story about much more than smut. I liked the mutual respect and admiration that built throughout, leaving us with the perfect balance of fulfillment and promise for the future. Well done!

I've now been in fandom a year - still pretty new by some standards - and I remember when I first stumbled across fan fiction and just wanted to read everything at once. I'm glad you stumbled across my story and enjoyed it. :) I had only been in fandom a few months when that was written and even now it's my only completed fic. Well, thank goodness the air conditioning just kicked in because this file I was fanning myself with just wasn't helping. An absolutely wonderful take on that prompt and I loved the little liberties you took with it. Severus goading Hermione is one of my favorite pastimes. She's a whole lot of fun when she's riled up.

Death by Hermione, indeed!But failing the real thing, I'd love just one visit to that shop - the Muggle versions are so much less interesting, even coupled with the kind of wonderful fantasy you provide!

Now that was some steamy fun. :D I like the twist you took on this challenge and going back and forth in POV really helped the story out. It was more fun wtih the innuendo of Snape not admitting he knew it was her, letting her think she had gottean away with it.

I loved it. There were so many goodies in this story that literally made me squee. I liked the way Severus teased her with the words he used. The whole of it was rich with entertainment.

But I am hoping that I can justify that with the idea that, when faced with a very embarrassing situation, you try to imagine it's not as bad as it actually is, and I think that's why Hermione was deluding herself with all the hints. Plus it allowed Severus to have a little more fun :)

Thank you! I actually had to shorten the banter between them - it was so fun to write - and went through several versions trying to shave it down. I wanted it to be a simple one-shot and a 10,000 word chapter kinda defeats that purpose. LOL

Oh wow... is it suddenly hot in here or the air-con has stopped working? Seriously, I should have known better than to read this between lunch break at the office. I've been squeeling stupidly for the first half of the story and practically glued my eyes on the screen for the second half! LOL. Hmm... mental note, should save things like this at home...
