Ohhhh Dark Severus. Itsa good change from some stories where Sev is overly sweet, good, and oddly perfect. A true Slytherin to the core, always willing to modify a situation to his advantage!
Very nice indeed
Really good!!!!
Well, girl, that was definitely different. I like the way you handled the challenge. Having Hermione aware of what Severus was doing and turn the tables on him like that in order to assure his own survival... nicely done.
Wow, very different perspective! Nicely written, ejoyable read...

Now this is a Snape I can get used to. I loved it and I hope that you continue writing such interesting tales. Thank you.

Thank you very much. :)
A different kind of story. Severus has no redeeming qualities, he's just opportunistic. Good plot.

thank you. :)
They are made for each other. Two peas in a pod. I don't think I have read a Snape like this, so you definately have a one of a kind story here. Tamara

thank you very much. I tried to do a different Snape than I usually write. :)
A Dark!Severus fic. I love it. He might be dark but he still has a soft spot for Hermione. I think he loves her in his own way. This is very well written and intriguing as well. Tamara

Yep. :) thanks! :)
That was definitely not what I expected, and I liked it a lot. Cunning and dark versions of Severus always draw me in. And I love when Hermione matches him every step of the way. Great job!

Thanks for the comments and the read. I apprecaite that. I, too, enjoy a darker Snape, but what's a kicker for me is when Hermione isn't fooled.
I purposefully did not look at the challenge rules. Sometimes they give too much away. I'm glad I didn't, because I think that gave your ending a better twist! One of my favorite early bits, though was calling the curse that killed Wormtail "the Sycophant Hex." I figured that was probably part of the challenge somehow, but you worked it in well. It suits him!

Teehee. Thanks! I'm happy you liked it. I had to read this again today to try to remember it all and am glad I did so. I really liked this story when I wrote it. There's something about a dark Snape that appeals to me at times. :)
I really enjoy your stories. I found this to be a good one also. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! I'm fond of this one, as I sometimes have a thing for a deviously dark Snape. I appreciate that you've commented. :)
Wow, that was...not what I expected...though I suppose that when you say dark, you do mean it.Great as always!

~grin~ Thanks for reading. :)
I liked this story more than I can emphatically put into cyber text. I read it awhile ago, when you asked me to, though I wasn't really a member, so didn't post a review. I do know, as I read it this time around, that what stood out, whether or not you wanted it to, was Snape's humanity.
Too often simple things that everyone desires are forgotten when dealing with fictional characters. Even authors, those that initially create them, forget.
Hermione did, what I think, nay, what I believe, Snape desires more than anything. To be saved.
To have someone that stands up in the crowded room and walks up to you, takes your hand, and says, 'I won't leave you.'
It made me smile.

Thanks for this review. I appreciate it. And, yes, he's right lucky to have someone to do that for him--and beneath it all, I think it's what he wanted.
Looking forward to reading more of this!

thanks! I'm glad you like it~
A very unexpected ending although I'm not sure whether I'd call it a happy ending. I can't decide who has the upper hand in the end - Snape or Hermione. Thanks for a great read.

I am pleased that I was able to entertain you, as your story has entertained me. Thanks for reading. I'm thinking Hermione isn't as naive as he thinks, though he might have her pegged. lol
Wow, what a complex and intriguing plot. Normally, this kind of Snape would have been a bit too dark for my taste, but now with HBP out I can't help wondering whether he might be much more like this than I would previously have thought.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Where Your Loyalties Lie)
Yes, when I read HBP, I did a double take and said, "Oh, no! That's kind of like I had in in Loyalties." I am so happy that you've read this. Thank you.!
Gosh that was indeed a dark version of Snape. And I loved the twist at the end.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Where Your Loyalties Lie)
Thanks for reading!!
Nice touch in the end, did not see it comming. I really enjoy reading DarkSeverus, it is so interesting and challenging to see how far one can go and still return to light. I was a bit doubtful to how easily he was able to fool Hermione, but then things turned out to not be quite what they seem. And good length too.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Where Your Loyalties Lie)
Thanks. I'd like to think that he's not as sly as he believes (not where she's concerned). LOL I'm happy you liked it.
