Wow, not what I expected. I try for happy or at least implied happy endings. However, I have to admit this is different and original. Perhaps a peek into the future? I'd love to see them happy, even if they don't wind up together.

I like that it was unexpected. I wanted to do something a bit unique - not have them be together. Because not every relationship, no matter how well matched, ends in happiness and their relationship has the potential of being extremely angsty. I've been asked before about a continuation with a happy ending. I haven't yet written it but nor am I denying that its a possibility.

Thank you. It is a bummer - but their relationship tends towards angst so much, I thought there needed to be a fic that didn't end happily ever after. Maybe he DOES say he's an ass... you never know! I left that up to the reader!Thank you for the honour of featured story!

Yes, I needed to write an atypical Hermione/Severus piece where things didn't go quite right. Their relationship is so potentially angsty with their personalities...Sometimes after all the wonderful friendship and romance fics, you need something a little different.Thank you for letting me know how you felt.

Yeah, sorry about them ending apart. Angst suits this pairing so well, that even with all the back and forth, I kind of had to be different and leave them apart. Thanks for reviewing!
Whoa, angsty. I'm not sure if I applaud Hermione's determnation to remove herself from Sev's tainted touch or if I want to slap her for not sucking up the pain and reahing out to the wounded animal that is the Gothfather Snape. Cool story though. Angsty. You can never have too much suffering.

Very angsty. I kind of enjoy the way you're conflicted and thank you for sharing that. I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to let me know. Angst fortunately/unfortunately seems quite suited to this paring.
... and then he realised he was being an idiot and ran after her, declaring his feelings. She was mistrustful, but agreed to give him a chance. And to keep having sex. Lots of it. For the next 150 years.

Otherwise, this was really good. Both of them were perfectly in character, the poor dears.

LOL. You know, I purposely ended it sadly. Their relationship has the potential to be so volitaile and they can both screw it up so well - and I just felt like there had to be one story where they both screwed it up so badly, they couldn't recover. A slight dose of what could have been. Y'know?I'm glad you enjoyed the story despite them not ended up together happily ever after.

I know, intellectually, that there should be stories that don't end happily. It's just that, whenever I come across them, I'm such a hopeless romantic I want to fix them. I mean, come on, he told her to be careful; from Severus, that's practically a declaration of undying devotion. How could she not get that? *whimper*
Very effective story. I'd be sad, but in my AU SS & HG are destined to be together and I take confort in that.

Yes, usually in my stories, they do. Not every relationship, no matter how well-matched, or well-intentioned, ends happily. Just felt like their ship deserved a story like that. Glad you enjoyed it enough to let me know.
no thats a horrible way to end it... can you please write another part for those who need the fluffy love and kisses scenes in their lives!!!!!!!!

I've been begged for a happy ending on this one. I'm trying so hard not to, because that was the point after all. To write a not-happy-ended story. But we'll see... I can always be persuaded.
