I read this story a year or so ago and was discussing it the other night with friends. I decided to reread it. It was every bit as good as I remembered.

Thank you. I'm pleased it holds up, and I'm sorry for the late reply as, for some reason, I did not get notification.

Oh my - who would have thougt Percy to be the one? That was really scary in a way. But very fitting, too... the part about Snape and Molly was rather tough, but really plausible, and both their reactions very fitting. Molly would have been this kind of woman!
In the whole, a wonderful, fascinating and thrilling story.
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you found it conceivable and that it kept your interest throughout. I agree about Molly - she and Arthur are both Gryffindors, after all. :)

Oh my, what a dire ordeal! I'm so happy he managed to get out of this cruel prison. Extremely well told.
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you found it exciting and enjoyed the resolution.
Wow. I can't believe Severus was imprisoned with Dumbledore! It is amazing that he was able to remain sane in theose circumstances.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Yes. Fotunately, he didn't realize he was entombed with Albus until after, so the impact wasn't as great as if he'd uncovered the slab and found his old mentor buried with him.
That was a wonderful twist in the tale. I never expected Percy to be Severus' son, but once you explained it and listed his similarities to Severus, it made good sense.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
I'm glad it made sense. I'm also glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for commenting.
Loved the twist. It seems so justified coming with your description of what happened and why. Can't help but think your view of Snape's patronus is so much more suitable than a doe.. excellent job - loved it.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the twists and turns. I agree about the patronus, although I do like the doe, because it shows, despite how some people like to feel Snape is just nasty and irredeemable no matter what good he's done, that, at heart, Severus has a gentle, loving soul.
Ok, the whole Percy-is-Snape's-son thing was a little hard to swallow, I still really enjoyed this read.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great story. I did not see that plot twist coming. I love the way you let Snape deal with his inprisonment. In one of Percy's letters he wants Snape to eventually bow down before him, but Snape wasn't about to let that happen. Thanks!
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Thank you for commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the plot twists.
YES, I enjoyed the fic!!! You did a great job shifting the reader's thoughts about who was at guilt, and the ordeal that Severus experienced! The fact that it came down to Percy and that revelation was a surprise, to say the least. It was most excellent.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
I'm glad. Thank you for taking time to comment.
Love the plot twist. It was a fun story!
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Thank you!
What a happy ending, and I always loved Rikki- Tikki-Tavi and totaly agree with your view of his patronus!
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Thank you. :)
Considering what happens in DH, having a mongoose for Snape's patronus seems so much more appropriate than a doe :-))
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
I hear you. :) If you haven't, you might try reading my fic "Full Circle".
I enjoyed your story very much. Wasn't expecting the bit about Percy, that's for sure. Would you consider a parallel story from Hermione's viewpoint? I'd love to see how she worked through the various events. Thanks for your work!
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Re: the alternate viewpoint idea, we'll have to see what the Muse decides. Right now, I've got several post-DH fics I'm working on of different kinds and pairings. I never know what the Muse will bless me with. :)
I enjoyed this story as much the third time through as I did the first. Thank you for writing!
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
That's very kind, thank you. I'm glad it maintains your interest despite having read it already.
I quite enjoyed this fic. I'd always (that is to say sometime after OotP) thought that Percy was a DE. I'm glad that you portrayed him as such. I didn't, however, expect him to be Severus' son. Nice twist, that! overall, you wrote a great fic that was a pleasure to read. Thank you.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
I like your user name. :) Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
I like your more mature Harry. And I always thought Arthur Weasley's adaptability, strength of character, and acceptance was vastly underplayed--glad to see I wasn't the only one.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Thank you. Yes, I'm rather fond of Arthur.
This is such a good story! I read it over on the Gift Exchange's archives, and I was in the middle of it when the site went all weird for a day, and I couldn't finish it, and I was desperate! I'm so glad you're posting it to multiple sites--it's that good. Were I to nit-pick, there's an incorrect pronoun ("Sirius once told Harry and I an amusing anecdote...")--the first person singular should be the object form "me" instead of the subject form "I," but that's such a small problem. Overall your mechanics are very good, and the concept is well-conceived and nicely paced. The long imprisonment would be very hard to write, I think, especially for we want-it-right-now Americans, but you've done marvelously.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
I'm glad you found the story to read again.
Re: the nitpick, speech is full of imperfections, slang, colloquialisms, and abbreviations. I prefer to maintain such incorrections for the characters, as it makes a story richer and feel more realistic. Thank you for your observations, though.
Pretty good, I think he sounds like Alacard the way you have described him
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
I'm unfamiliar with the reference, but I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
Wow, very original & I'm very impressed.

Thank you. I hope you enjoy the last half.
Shacklebolt as evil and vindictive. Woah. Can't wait to hear the rest. I thought initially it was Harry. Might still be...

You never know! Thank you for commenting. :)
holy cow! Awesome fic!
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.
An absolutely riveting story, so many twists and turns, it all hangs together, and is beliveable, you have done a wonderful job, thank you. P.S. I can't help but wonder, who sent the sweets, Molly & Authur, or Severus.
Response from odogoddess (Author of Reckoning)
Sorry to take so long to respond; I don't check the archives as often as I probably ought. Thank you for taking time to comment on what you found of interest. I'm glad it kept you guessing. Ah... I'll never tell, but it might have been a joint effort, you know. ;-)
