Rabid HP fan. Passionate about Snape.

This is beautiful - I always wondered how Minerva felt after Snape's death, and I've always had a soft spot for the two of them. It had to be an extremely complex relationship, and this gives me a sense of closure - thank you!
Thanks, I needed that. Although I think Minerva and Severus were good friends, actually. That comment she makes in one of the books about how it had been 6 or 7 years since Gryffindor had won the quidditch cup, "As Professor Snape kindly reminded me," just SCREAMS to me that they are much better friends than the Children think.

I think they had a comfortable friendship too. She wasn't quite Dumbledore, so maybe Snape felt like she understood his position better. And I also felt like she could act as a bit of a mother figure in this story and give him the comfort he deserved. Thanks for reviewing!!
I'm so glad that fanfic loves Severus enough to give him the redemption he deserves.
Beautifully written.
That was fantastic! A much needed addition to DH.
Very sad, but enjoyable, if you know what I mean!

Yeah, I actually do know! Thanks for posting.
Yes... Beautiful.
That was extremely touching. I had a hard time holding back tears. I just finished DH last week, and I found Snape's demise to be so sad. I really was hoping he would get some redemption after years of loneliness.

I hoped (but didn't expect) more too. We in the fan fic world can take him in and make him ours now. That's the joys of writing! Thanks for posting.

Oh that's wonderful! I love how you tied in her memories & regrets. Your description of the physical (dirt on her face, on his, the weight of his body...) and the emotional were so well written. I love the line about his eyes, how you phrased that. The tears and trembling, the sternness, the anger... Just wonderful. Thank you!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm glad the story moved you. Thanks for reviewing!
That is such a touching scene and I love that Minerva is going to give both headmasters an ear full when she gets a chance.Beautifully written, well done.

Truly wonderful and so needed a piece for an unsung hero.I would truly hope that Minerva would act that way. You wrote such a beautiful and touching scene, that I would love to see you do a story of Minerva coming to grips with what has happened at the end and remembering Hogwarts time under Severus as headmaster.I'm sure the conflict would be amazing.(PS, her talking to their portraits is also something that I'd bring popcorn for...)

You know, I am thinking of doing another post DH piece. But it would actually be something about another meeting between Snape and Lily later in their lives (so actually pre DH but DH compliant). But there have been so many possibilities left for the fan fic world. I anticipate a lot of good work ahead. Thanks for reviewing.
Damn it Jo Rowling...you didn't do justice to this man and now the fan fiction writers have to make up for it. We all knew Dumbledore told him that he would have to kill him but why didn't they (Severus and Dumbledore) confide in the rest of the Order members? This was beautifully written and a extra page that should have been in the book. Thank you

I'm feeling very conflicted toward JKR too, right now! She created an entire world I love, but she treated some of my favorite characters horribly. Thank God for fan fiction! And thank you for reviewing and your kind words!
just too sad .I'M STILL NOT OVER IT AND YOU SAID IT SO BEAUTIFULLY. i ask myself....how is it possible to love a fictional character so much and I ANSWER, i DON'T KNOW! I just do. thanks, barb
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
I'm not really over it either. But writing this helped. But yes, I do adore and am totally devoted to this fictional person and feel very protective of him and his memory. I'm glad that Snape has us though. At least we DO consider him a great hero. Thanks fo ryour kind words! I very much appreciate it!
Of all the characters we lost, I will miss Snape the most. Thank you for giving him the respect his creator didn't. Thanks for this beautiful piece of closure.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
It hurt to lose Lupin and Fred and many of the others. And even though I expected to lose Snape, it didn't make it any less painful and tragic. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I'm really surprised and honored at how many people are enjoying this one-shot.
Lovely and fitting tribute to our beloved Potion's Master... Still can't believe the way she dumped him, so cavalierly, leaving him to die in that dingy shack. And, to add insult to injury, she doesn't have the decency to have him repatriated to Hogwarts! Not one word from the older Order members to signify their knowledge of his passing. I'm still miffed by the whole thing. If his contribution to the war effort didn't count in JKR's eyes... just feels like spitefulness toward those who liked that character.Bleh! My rant is finished... *sniff*
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Well at least fandom can do right by him now. I feel like she abandoned him and WE are left to pick him up and claim him for our own. I'm happy to do so. Thanks for posting!!
thank you.very moving in a way i think it might be better that JKR left the eulogies to us fansi think we can pay our hero a great tribute ourselves
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Since it feels like she dropped the ball on fitting tributes, I guess it is up to us! I'm glad to be a part of it. Thanks for reviewing.
Beautiful! Absolutely fitting! Was very saddened that JK left a scene like this out of her book. I kept thinking...didn't anyone find him? Didn't anyone take care of him in death? Thank you for this!
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
I felt some closure was needed for Snape. I hated the thought that he was just left in the shack to bleed out and be forgotten. Since I myself couldn't go find him, I thought Minerva would be best. Thanks for posting!
Very moving and beautifully written. It's good to see that someone gives Snape the recognition he deserves. I would love to see Minerva having a go at the two portraits.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Wouldn't we all like to give them a piece of our minds! I hated that either had to leave, but recognize their sacrifice. I think Snape deserved as much honor as Dumbledore though. Thanks for reviewing.
I was terribly disappointed when in DH, no older character was permitted even a line or two of musing about Snape once the truth was revealed. The adults who survived must have had such a complicated reaction. Thank you so much for sharing this version of what one of them might have said.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
It was painful to see how forgotten he was. And he was SO important to the entire series! I think that even after the war he would be a very talked about person and one who would inspire great debate and curiosity. In death he would have achieved what he longed for in life; respect and recognition. Thanks for posting.
Very moving and bittersweet...

Thanks for reviewing!
Thank you from someone who cared about Severus Snape . And I think this would have been Minervas exact reaction, upon hearing the truth.Bravo!!!Catharine
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
So many of us cared about Snape! It feels like the one who didn't was the one who created him and had control over his fate. That's sad. I'm glad others cared enough to keep his memory alive at least. Thanks for posting
