Rabid HP fan. Passionate about Snape.
Reviews for Not Here
This story is just as moving the nth time through as the first. So very, very well done.

Thank you! And thanks for your services to help make it good!

Soooo sad... I'm weeping. But entirely fitting. As much as I pretend to think JK's written him an out, I know she meant for him to be dead -- his death and Dobby's were mirrored too well, and the blank eyes tell everything. Perfectly done. I applaud you.

Author's Response: I'm especially honored by your kind words for I've read a lot of your work. I have no doubt that JKR considered him dead and gone and nothing more about him. To me it was just too cold and heartless. Snape needed more. I'm glad that sharing it has touched so many people.
Sad and touching. I think fandom is keeping himalive if they are fond of the S.Snape character, but I'm glad someone went back and gave him a better send off.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
I'm happy for fandom too. He did deserve a better finale, didn't he?
Well done. This is heartbreaking, but beautiful. You really captured the thoughts and feelings of those left behind.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thank you! I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Us left behind did need something to help us through, as I would think those in the HP world would also.
Thank you. This made me cry like nothing JKR wrote. I had expected him to die in Book 7, but you gave him the dignity, the honor, and the love that he deserved.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
I'm honored by your words. Thank you. He was treated very poorly, wasn't he? I'm even a little mad at JKR over it. I thought someone should make it right.
Absolutely perfect. If we can't have Severus back, at least we have SOMEONE giving him the respect, affection, and honor he deserves. Thank you!
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
I appreciate your kind words. Yes, we did some bit of comfort and healing if he was to be taken from us.
Very nicely done. Wonderful descriptions. I could really empathize with McC's tiredness and sense of determination.I could almost hear the the "clip" in her voice as she reproached Snape. *chuckle*Good job.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thanks for the review! McGonagall isn't hard to invision then put into words. She is always so stoic. But it was also easy to imagine her being very touched by Snape's sacrifice. She expressed what I think we all feel.
:sniffle: Oh, that's so sad! Very good, though.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thank you! *hands tissue*
Very moving and beautiful, doll. I am going to rec this to everyone right now.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thank you, SW!! (BIG HUGS!) I've missed you. I'm so glad that you got to read this though. Much love to you~~~SK
As I attempt to type through the tears.... this was so beautiful. And I'd love to be a fly on the wall when she gets her chance to lecture the last two Headmasters of Hogwarts. Just lovely.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thank you for reviewing. I'm glad it touched you. I had some damp eyes while writing this too!
A very toucing and personal snap shot of one person's feelings about the seemingly unknowable Severus Snape. Very moving.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And isn't it sad he had to stay so unknowable?
A touching tribute, but I still think he is revived.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Well, in my happy place, I like to think so too!!! In my head, I won't let him be dead. Thank God for fan fiction! Thanks for posting.
Gotta tell ya -- still in the land of denial.
But this was beautiful; thanks for the closure.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
So many of us needed this kind of closure. But I'm going to pretend Snape is still alive and snarking and snarling about. At least we have fan fiction. Thanks for reading.
thats so sad
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
It was for me too. But I felt I needed to do it. I hope it helped some people to find closure though too.
You might want to put a tissue warning. What a lovely story and a beautiful tribute--I can see Minerva doing that once she found out the truth about everything.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Well, I needed the tissues while writing it even! I did this while I was still coming to grips with his death and feeling like it was so unfair and cold. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for posting.
/me sobs hysterically
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
*comforts CMW* Join the club. So many of us shed so many tears. I hope this helped find some closure for many of us.
Response from cmwinters (Reviewer)
Did you hear about Jo's recent interview on MSNBC? Horrible, horrible, horrible, but you know what? She *did* just forget him there, it appears that she never gave him another thought, and it's entirely possible that the "A/U Snape" we're all dreaming up—you know, the one who's a potions master who can put a stopper in death and brews poison antidotes by the handful, the prodigious student who knew about the bezoar, the quintessential spy who prepared for every eventuality and always had a way out, the member of the Order and the Death Eater who KNEW the Dark Lord had used Nagini as an offensive weapon in the past . . . it's entirely possible he IS canon, because she appears to have gift-wrapped him and handed him to us since she never understood the character's potential and therefore never appreciated him.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
I agree!! It's easy to imagine he fooled everyone somehow! And I'm not at all sure JKR understood this amazing, complex, beautiful character she created either. I damn sure don't think she fully appreciated him! We in the fan fic world will carry on very nicely without her though!
Response from cmwinters (Reviewer)
Amen to that.
You do know about teh lj comm snape_after_dh, right?
*sobs* nice one :) *sobs some more*
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
I appreciate your review and your tears! Thanks for sharing. It's been rough for us all!

Dear Merlin, that's painful. Thanks.
Author's Response: It was painful, yet it was the closure so many of us needed. I know I needed to know that someone cared enough about Snape to DO something for him. Of course I'm actually happy to pretend he's still alive somewhere, being mean and snarly and flapping about in his black robes. Thanks for posting.
Just finished the book last night. As soon as I read this, I knew this was the missing scene. Minerva was perfect for this.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Wow, thanks for that! I sure felt like Snape was brutally ignored at the end after he made such a valiant sacrifice. I felt that Minerva was good too because he needed someone to "mother" him, not just wax romantically about his passing.
Lovely. Sweet and tender in all the right ways without appearing sappy.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thank you. It could have been easy to get carried away. This was written soon after I had read the book and still felt very emotional about it all.
Oh my goodness, I'm crying. This was beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Well done!
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
Thank you! *hands tissue* I'm so glad so many people are finding it healing for them.
Beautiful writing - a touching tribute; however, you really need to add a tissue warning. It is a bit difficult to leave a review when you have tears dripping down your face.
Response from Snapekat (Author of Not Here)
yeaaah, sorry about that. But your tears touch me! And I appreciate your review. I cried writing it too, if that's any comfort. It's been a rough week since DH came out.
Need more Kleenex now. That was great.

*passes whole box* Thanks for reviewing. I needed tissues while writing it too. It was very emotional.
