Reviews for The Potion Mistress
She is with Charlie? I do not see her paired with him often. I cannot wait to see the mystery of Severus and the guild to unravel. Good work.

Charlie is a for-now relationship - they see each other, but aren't in love - but you can't make Molly understand that!I'm glad the mysteries are intriguing you. Thank you.

Cool way to bring Severus back - thru the resurrection stone. Very original -I have never seen this done before - good work and I cannot wait to see what happens.

It's an odd position Rowling left Harry in - giving him the power to raise the dead at just the moment when large numbers of his friends are dying. It would not have been a good idea to use the stone on everyone, but if he was going to make one exception, it would have to be Severus, the man they'd all misjudged so badly.I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. Thank you for the lovely reviews.

I am beyond impressed with the lavish detail throughout this story. From the customs and relationships within the House to the carefully chosen photos at the end, this story comes to vibrant life increasingly with every new chapter. It is well worth the wait.

That is a review to gladden a writer's heart. Thank you so much for those very kind words.I'm sorry it was such a long wait, worth it or not, and I will try very hard to make sure it's not as long till the next installment.

That was quite interesting, with the intrigue, but I think my favorite part was the flashback to Charlie.

I'm so glad you liked that part. I've been worried that the long flashbacks would be too disruptive to the story, so it's lovely to hear that you are enjoying them.

Oh my. This is wonderful. I like Charlie's role in this. Their relationship seems so suited to what's going on in their lives, doesn't it? And I love JJ, he's the best. You write such fun men. :-P I'm really feeling for Hermione. I know she has like, this great support system back home, but with JJ knowing her secret, and her future on the line...I can just imagine her poor stomach is constantly in one big knot. And the fact that she runs everyday before she starts on everything else? Sheeeeeesh.I'm loving the many flashbacks. It's breaking up the day-to-day stuff at the Guild and introducing awesome plotlines.:-D Loooove you. I only read yooour WIPs.

Thank you so much for this loverly review!I see Charlie, in this story anyway, as the perfect "friends with benefits" guy. Someone to provide the physical comfort while she's at a place in her life where she can't manage a serious, intimate relationship. As you say, it's "suited to what's going on" rather than deep and meaningful. I'm very pleased that you read it that way.Yes, Hermione is a bit stressed at this point in the story. It's not easy living a double life, and who else could possibly understand what that's like? ;-)I'm soooo thrilled that you like the flashbacks. I've been worried that they would make the story feel disjointed.

Ooh, you've researched Zamolxis and the Kogaionon!*basks in the warmth of shared references and solid information*This is one of the rare fics that take a long and winding path to the eventual SS/HG pairing - and I love every step of it.I liked Hermione's lighthearted affair with Charlie and I'm very intrigued about Xie and the risks involved.Calpurnia's notes and the photos are wonderful - they give so much texture to the story.

I was thinking about you the entire time I did that research! (Hope I didn't get anything wrong.) I've never understood why none of the Charlie fic, or at least what I've read, does anything with the setting. It was such fun finding out about the architecture, art, geography, and legends of Romania. We'll be going back to the reserve again in the story, so there will be more of that to come. Let me know if you have any ideas of what else I can incorporate of local culture. It will be a while before Severus and Hermione get together, but I'm hoping that the flashbacks will build a sense of their connection so readers don't get bored. In the meantime, she's got Charlie. ;-)Calpurnia is the closest thing to a Mary Sue I've ever written - the historian who wants to explain what everything means and where it all comes from. I'm thrilled that you like her contributions.

Aww! I'm touched. And you're right about the Charlie fics ignoring the setting. If I have any interesting ideas about what to incorporate from local culture, I'll certainly tell you! And please don't hesitate to ask me too.
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of The Potion Mistress)
It's funny, because you get writers who do huge amounts of research on British culture and geography, but they never seem to think about what it means to be in Romania in the same way.I'll definitely be getting in touch for the next visit to the reserve! Thanks for offering to help.

Ohmygod. I've been away from Tallinn for over a year and reading the story, especially looking at the pics, I was hit with such terrible homesickness.... Anyway, thanks for the update!

Kribu has been so generous in sharing her pictures of Tallinn; it's such a beautiful city. I'm jealous that you had the chance to live there.

I was so happy to see an updated chapter! I really do love your fic, and I can't wait to read the rest of it!

Thank you. I'm going to try very hard to make sure it's not as long a wait for the next chapter.

this is a facinating story! i hope rl hasn't interfered too much and that you'll complete it. thanks so much
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of The Potion Mistress)
It will be completed, I promise. When is a different question.
I'm so glad you're enjoying it.
Wow, Buzzy! I'm completely crazy about this! First off, I must apologize for taking so long to get over here and read this chapter! But I'm so glad I did today.
I love the world you're building, Hermione's friendships, the guild ... everything. I truly look forward to much, much more! I also love the footnotes at the end - the pics are very neat! I wish I could be more verbose and coherent, but I'm just not right now, for some reason! Forgive me! I love it!
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of The Potion Mistress)
Hey Floo! That's plenty coherent for me, and wonderfully enthusiastic.
