Glastonbury Tor has been said to be many things: a pre-Roman settlement, an entrance to the underworld, the mystic isle of Avalon, the spiral castle of the Gwyn ap Nudd, the Fairy King of the Tor. Hermione Granger and Severus Snape are about to learn the truth.

Reviews for The Wild Hunt
You begin with an interesting premise. I am interested to follow and see where this story goes. Beth
This is so incredibly fascinating, and the way you have pegged Severus' and Hermione's personalities in relationship to one another is spot on. I love the descriptions you use throughout the chapters, especially those relating to Hermione's dissociation from the world around her.

P.S. – I am really drawn to this story, so I have recommended you at the livejournal community, The New Library (http://community.livejournal.com/the_new_library/85562.html#cutid1). Congratulations on having two of your stories recommended on this site (the other being 'Ego Stroking')! I read the whole thing and really like the IC Snape. Hermione on the edge is really great, too. I hope you can wrestle your muse into updating soon. I love the Glastonbury setting as well.
I really like this...the story grabs you and sucks you in. I wish I found it completed because I would have devoured the whole thing in one go. As is, I will anxiously await the next installment.
And here I thought the dog was going to be Severus. Lots of cliffhangers in there... I like it. :)
"...reminding employees not forget that Friday was Dress Like a Muggle Day. " LOL. The mental picture alone!I love your sense of humor in this story, and this fic is very refreshing and wry.
Good. Everything except her relapse with Kingsley. I know what you want to show, her state of mind, but the state of mind with Snape half an hour later was just as telling and much more a grown-up Hermione.
I have a hard time associating with this type of confused, indecisive, secretive, disbelieving, unintuitive and in other ways stupid Hermione. But, there she is.
Uh huh. So, the old man is an immortal, hunting the dying with his hounds. Lovely. What about Snape's dreams of hunting as a dog? Miserable bastard ;-)))
Have you changed this story? I think I would have remembered three dogs spelled to find Snape. Most interesting, by all means.
I've finally decided to re-read this from the beginning. I remembered the Tor and nothing else. Well, it is a good opening chapter at the second reading, too.
Exquisite. I love this.
I knew it. This is wonderful. Thanks so much. Now if you would just get Viktor and Luna together.......
The old man is Gwyn Ap Nudd. My research years ago said that the name Gawain derived from Gwyn. Interesting theory. There was a book years and years ago, by Jill Tattersall called 'The Wild HUnt'. And there is a book called 'Lucifer's Crown' by Lillian Stewart Carl. You should read both, if you haven't. You are drawing out so much of the reasons I am moving to Glastonbury. Please let me know what you used for research. Thanks.
Oh, yes! This is so cool. Whern I first went to Glastonbury in 1972 it spoke to me. It was like coming home. The Tor has a magic of its own. The labyrinth is still there. I have walked it. I sat at the Top of the Tor in 1974 on each of the Celtic Festival dates, Beltaine, Lughnasa, Samhain and Imbolc. Spirits walk there. Magic is tangible there.
Such a petty man. Tsk tsk. Still loving it. Thanks for a truly intriguing read.
Too cool for words. I am so glad someone has thought to bring Viktor back. And you are using my other home city, too. I am going to be your biggest fan on this one.
will you be finishing this story?
WOW! The mention of Glastonbury Tor was enough to pique my interest (visiting there was my favorite trip when I lived in England) but reading the rest of the chapter is just like reading one big HOOK. I am well and truly caught on your line and can't wait for more!
What an absolutely *fantastic* beginning! I wanted to read some fic today, but wasn't sure what I wanted to read, and thought rather unexpectantly, "eh, let's give this a try - ho hum" and WOW, I'm glad I did!!! I look forward to seeing this progress!
Oh my, almost too emotionally overwhelming. You've captured early grief quite clearly. And Snape's antipathy. And the dog's longing. Which are all tied together, I think - or, rather, they gave me the same pang.
(I quite like the present tense, btw.)
This is really an excellent start. I'll be looking forward to more chapters.
I like the direction this story is going. It will be very interesting. I think that Hermione is going through the stages of grief very naturally. I look foward to the rest of the story.
Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Nice story and i love the mix of the tale of the wild hunt I don't know much on it, but do know he did of dogs that were his hunting dogs and he would hunt anything or anyone or something to that nauture. Its beena while since I read anything on the wild hunt. I do remember reading a story a writer by the name of jane yollen (sp) wrote based of the wild hunt. This story kind of reminds me of it.
