Well, keep in mind that the raven was going to commit murder on the spider, and spiders may not be cute and fluffy, but they (presumably) value their lives as much as birds do ;DAlison

Thanks for that! I was writing in answer to a 100 word drabble challenge at Bewitched Mind, and the original story was twice as long. It was an interesting exercise to cut it down and still have it make sense. And I love the idea of Snape's reaction - SO p***ed off at the world in general!Alison

Poor... Now, I don't know who. Raven or Snape? The idea is wonderful, although the last line feels a bit forced. It must provide the explanation, but perhaps a bit of word juggling might improve it.

I always wondered what would happen if a bug Animagus got eaten. The summary says it all! He shpuld have a tally going of how many times it's happened.
