I am a latecomer to the Potterverse (way after HBP). I was searching the web for everything and anything about Snape one day when I accidentally stumbled over my first Severus/Hermione story. I read it, was intrigued, searched for more, and the rest is history.
My fandom world very much revolves around Severus Snape and Lucius Malfoy.
My favourite 'ships are Hermione/Severus, Hermione/Lucius, Severus/Lucius, and my OT3: Severus/Hermione/Lucius.

Thank you for your lovely reviews!I'm very happy you enjoyed this!
YAY!!! Hogwart's magical balance is on its way to complete restoration, and I think Severus and Hermione are reaching their own sense of balance as well. I wonder if the Room of Requirement will be restored, too?
Lovely chapter!

What a sweet chapter! Even if Hermione has had to spend a few antsy hours worrying about Severus, she and Blinky had a chance to talk about "The Headmaster" and she learn a few things she hadn't known- like saving the elflings.
I'm so glad Hermione hugged him when he came to her rooms! And why is he so pale and dishevelled? His talk with the Bloody Baron must have really surprised and upset him. I have to go find out what happened!

Severus and Hermione are taking their time... feeling each other out so to speak... and I hope they'll get over their shyness and pickup the threads of their friendship as they research this problem with the castle.
Another thing I'm curious about is what exactly happened ten years ago when Severus left. Did he go before he was cursed into remaining in his Animagus form or after? Where did he go for his "walk?" What took him so long to come back to Hermione's house?
I'm off to find out what happens next in this wonderful story!

I love that the Baron wouldn't say anything, even if the school was in trouble, just to anyone (if the school is even in trouble, I'm reviewing as I go). The elfling saving was an excellent thought. I assume when you say teacher's wing (rather than teachers' wing) it only refers to one or two of the teachers, since having them all in one spot in a boarding school on the level of Hogwarts would be a liability to students needing quick help. I really should reread the books, I didn't remember the ghosts having house loyalties except Ravenclaw, but something is itching at my memory about it. I was 11 when I read the first and I grew with the books as they came out, really.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you for this lovely and detailed review! The way I read it the ghosts are loyal to their houses. I would have to look up the details, but I remember a passage about Nearly Headless Nick always being happy to point out the way to new Gryffindors and I'm sure there were others.About teacher's wing vs teachers' wing... ~mumbles something about embarrassing typos~ All fixed now. I'm assuming that the teachers would have living quarters apart from the students, but would be accessible to the students and able to get to them quickly in cases of emergencies via Floo or secret passages. Maybe they have some sort of monitoring spell on their house too? I seem to remember that Minerva appeared in the Gryffindor common room one or two times to finish a student's party in the books and I'm thinking she'd only know if she had some sort of monitoring spell as the walls in a castle would be rather thick. Or perhaps the ghost or portraits keep an eye on the students too? ~ponders~
At last, there was a knock at the door. Hermione opened it and found a pale and dishevelled Severus in front of her.Oh dear. Apparently, whatever Severus was able to glean from the Baron doesn't exactly bode well for their current situation.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!About their current situation... ~looks shifty~
Okay, if there's a single reader who doesn't know the Raven is Snape by now, then you've thrown at least myself off very neatly haha. Five stars.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Lol! By now you know ;)Thank you for reading and reviewing!
This is a really intreaguing story. Love the mystery behing the seemingly harmless pranks. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!I'm glad you're enjoying this.
I am glad he is back and they are working well together. I didn't even mind the long gap between chapters as it gave me an excuse to read your whole story again! Thank you!
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!I'm extremely flattered that you like the story enough to reread it! ~blushes~
Hm...I was just re-reading this story the other day in the Featured Fics section, wondering when (and if) another chapter would be forthcoming! (Don't worry...I understand that the grating noises of real life all too often drown out the gentle whispers from the muse.) I must have picked up on your vibes or something...
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
I'm really flattered that you like the story enough to re-read it. ~ blushes~ It's finished and I'll update regularly from now on.
Love the story, I look forward to read the rest of it (though Severus should have a really good story for why he left Hermione without a word, no matter what he considered their friendship to be back then)
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you! You'll find out more about Severus' reason in the next chapter ;)
I'm so glad they are working together, it seems they are building a friendship and maybe a little more. Minerva had the right idea putting them together. Looking forward to the next chapter soon.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
At least they're talking to each other :)Thank you for reading and reviewing!
Hard to get that closeted man... but al least there is more interactions coming. Nice update my dear!
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!Severus is very hard to figure out.
Severus and Hermione do such an approach/avoidance dance. The impression I had in this chapter was that she was willing/interested in picking up by being friends, but he was not so ready to do that. Could however long he was trapped as a raven have erroded his ability to trust others? At least he's using her given name! Thanks for this update. As always, I look forward to the next installment.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!Things are definitely awkward between them because they have to find out where they stand with each other.
This is a good one!! I was sad to reach the end of chapter 7 and look forward to the rest!!
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!I'm so happy you like this :)
We still need to know what happened between them ten years prior. It's obviously hanging over them, and is making things a bit awkward. Hopefully Severus will have something about what's going on in the castle. The research at least will provide them the opportunity to talk things over.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Severus and Hermione definitely need to resolve a couple of things. Thank you for reading and reviewing :)
Lovely chapter, although he is dressed now, thank you! You are not very generous with hints about what had happened ten years ago ...
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!All will be revealed eventually (she says mysteriously).
Malfoy? Green hair? The mind boggles.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Green and frizzy...
Hermione showed some amazing restraint in questioning Severus. Very good on her allowing him some time to adjust to being human again. Hopefully he can provide some illumination in to the castle's problems and I'm looking forward to learning more about the past.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!Hermione can be surprisingly un-Gryffindor-ish sometimes :)
Well, it wasn't the perfect welcome back after ten years of absence scenario, but there was no shouting or hexing, so I'm going to call it a win. I do hope they discuss their past so it doesn't continue to hang between them. Perhaps the castle won't let them leave until they do. :)
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!I agree, no hexing is a good beginning, especially given both their tempers ;)
Great chapter. Where will they go from here. Severus owes Hermione an explanation, I hope its a good one for his sake, or a friendship might be lost.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
Thank you!Severus definitely owes Hermione an explanation...
Would Blinky tell an outright lie to Hemrione? Or was there some little hole in the question she asked the house-elf that allowed her to deny knowing anything about this... but she didn't come right out and say she hadn't ever seen or heard of this kind of occurrance before... Hummmmm.I think Severus is trying the give Hermione a message. This gets interestinger and interestinger with every chapter.Beth
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of The Owl and the Raven)
I'm so happy you like this!Blinky is a very clever elf :)

Hummm...this is getting more and more interesting. And now... I have to wait for a new chapter! Augh! This is a good compliment, right? That people can't wait to see what happens next?
