I love the artwork that Meladara crated to go with this chapter - I can just imagine them drinking steaming cups of tea out in the cold.
But poor Severus!

I loved it - especially since I shamelessly coerced her - the first two panels were already there, and I told her how similar they looked to Choose, and she added that beautiful panel. It was awesome!

How different things might have been if she'd been allowed to remember. Still, she knows now...
Rose smiled at him affectionately, and let him win.
I love that image!

Thank you. It's amazing how this story really struck a chord with me. I was quite emotional while I was writing it - it just seemed to push a lot of buttons.

Books! What a wonderful Christmas gift!
Will this memory be the answer to why she can't remember him?

Such a beautiful story. You made me cry... Several times. :)

Oh, thank you for reading - I'm glad you enjoyed it, even if it did make you cry ;)
I'm seriously sitting here sobbing and sniffling. Sheesh - you keep making me cry today! I love to sing - songs are so very powerful and emotional to me, and you've picked some wonderful ones to include in here. When Severus started singing I Wonder as I Wander, that brought the first tears. Thinking of him wandering all by himself, and that the end of his wanderings brought him finally to safety. At my son's Christmas-time wedding three years ago, their friends secretly switched out their recessional music, and played All I Want for Christmas is You. It was so fun! We all went dancing down the aisle! So it is a special song in my heart as well. And then for Rose to sing such a beautiful song to her adopted father, knowing how much he had gone through in his life, oh, man. I'm still wiping the tears away. Oh, Teddy, this was such a beautiful story. I can see why it affected you so deeply. You've obviously put a lot of your own heart into it. *huge hugs*And guess what - in about *looks at watch* four months or so, I can give you those hugs in person!!!

Chris, you've brought tears to my eyes! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your wonderful comments. Music has always been so important in my family, especially at Christmas, and the idea of the 'girls' serenading him and running into his arms at the end had me a bit of a weepy mess when I was writing it - talk about egotistical, crying at your own writing! LOL I love the idea of your son's wedding - what a thrilling and joyful way to greet the world as husband and wife - and a moment they will treasure forever. I wish I could have been there. Thank you - now I'm the one crying! My friend K is fond of saying, "no one cries alone when Teddy is with them!". I cannot wait until con - I have no idea at the moment how I'm going to be able to afford it, but I'm going by hook or by crook, and I can't wait to return those hugs in person!

Well, it's more than five years later, and I'm sniffling again as I re-read this story. The singing to each other just really gets me every time! This time I got all weepy at the Granger Girls concert at the end when Severus expected Rose to go to Harry, but she chose him instead! And remembering when Harry lost Ginny, and Severus thought he was going to lose his Hermione. You described so well how special he felt, belonging to someone and almost losing them. Now I'm crying again as I think about you and Trev, and the fear you had a couple of weeks ago. Babe, I am praying for the two of you again as I write this.
