"Appearances really aren't everything, are they?" Post-war: Draco and Percy both manage to survive the war, but Draco thinks he should do some damage control to his social image, and decides to seduce/form an alliance with a Weasley. (Prompt 27 of the two_broomsticks 2006 fall fic-a-thon: Draco/Percy.)

Reviews for A Weasley of His Own
Very nice! I like the way you portray Percy. I like him as a dignified but compassionate and fair person.

Thank you so much for your review. I have a soft spot for poor Percy. I'm so glad you liked the way I portraied him.

I love that Draco loses some of his famous "cool",when he talks to "his" Wealsey.

I saw this fic recommended on Facebook, but I just decided tonight to read it on a whim. It's very good! I really like your take on each Percy (whom I rarely like) and Draco. And you left me wanting to know where the story goes. If I should see a sequel, I will not hesitate to read it. Thanks for writing such an entertaining and enthralling story.

Thank you so much for your lovely and thoughtful review. I have actually written a fluffy little sequel which I will be posting soon.

Now at the ball will Draco finally crack and call him Percy? This was very sweet.

You've managed to transform both of these young men into people we can feel sympathy - and even affection - for. Not an easy fete - to take two undesirables and render them so human in their thoughts and actions.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I have a real soft spot for these two. I'm so happy I managed to make them sympathetic!

I'll admit to a soft spot for our young Mr. Malfoy - so many strikes against him getting his life straight... He's figured as the central character of several of my newer pieces as well, which perhaps makes you and I kindred authors /g/ I find myself trying to help him find his true heart. You've painted Percy far more kindly than I ever perceived him but perhaps being one of such a horde he felt the need to take some unwise turns just so he'd be seen...

This is the first time I've seen this pairing, I wasn't sure at first , Percy isn't my favourite Weasly, but the way you have written it, it works. I love Draco's scheming innermonolouge, and Percy's calm compassionate acceptance, of Draco.

I'm so glad you liked it despite the strange pairing and you gave poor Percy a chance! Sorry for taking so long with the second part, but things have been hectic. Hopefully it should be ready soon!

I really love what you've accomplished here: as you've written them, I can see a glimmer of potential for two of my least favourite characters. And you haven't made their terrible histories disappear in order to write their attempts at redemption.I'm very much looking forward to reading more!

Thank you so much for the lovely review! I am so glad you decided to give Draco and Percy a chance. Unfortunately I have been lax in updating, but don't worry, the next part has been written and will be put up as soon as the mods okay it.

Heh. I jumped the gun a bit by answering the review before posting the second part. Sorry. The second part has just been posted.
