The meeting with the Malfoys was very well done. They have started the process of clearing the air and seeing if they can have a true friendship. It's heartbreaking about Draco and I hope that he will recover. While he could be a prat at times, I think he really could grow up to be a decent person. And now Severus is in for it with Sara, isn't he? Oh my.

I'm definitely enjoying the looks back at his life. At least he can feel somewhat better about what Rita was writing since she didn't make any glaring errors. Who'd have thunk it? LOL I love his feelings about Sara and her observational skills. I can definitely see why he doesn't want someone like that in his life right now.

Nice chapter. I like how his neighbor is a tad suspicious of the interloper. I especially like the look at his parents. Definitely paints the picture that lead to the man he became.

So nice to see Dumbledore actually being nice, though something tells me he still has something up his sleeve. I like that he told the Bijou Severus was not a fan of the color scheme.

Interesting start. I always like to read fics where Severus survives. And I love the idea of a Rita Skeeter free world, even if she managed one last deed before she was done.

Lovely to see your story here. This is a great set-up for the delights to come. An end to his old life and the anticipation of a new beginning. But will his old life catch up with him? I guess we will just have to read on and find out.

Oh, Severus, understandable as your idea is, fleeing isn't going to solve anything. They will hunt you down, beg you to return on every anniversary, declare Jan 9th as S.S.-day and what have you! I hope you get at least a few months in peace before that. BTW I expect that you've cast a self-incinding charm on the Daily prophet! You don't want the Aurors on your doorsteps for exposing the wizarding world to Muggles. A very well written story, thank you!

I'm so pleased you're posting this story on The Petulant Poetess  Welcome!In some ways, Skeeter is shrewd to have delayed publication until after she'd croaked; I can't imagine Snape resting until he'd hunted her down for retribution! Her demise lends an interesting dynamnic: Snape can't pursue revenge, and he will have to live with his anger and deal with the consequences of the exposé. Can he flee from the repercussions in his new French home? I doubt it!

Sounds intriguing. One must wonder what fiction she will come up with, if she became delerious towards the end, or if, since she would not live to see the results, she would finally stick to the facts for once.

I look forward to more.  The fact that I'm reading a second chapter is telling.  Sometimes, I get irritated with a story in the first chapter and don't go to a second one.
