Having seen off the Dark Lord, survived Nagini’s bite and lived as a spy, what could possibly be frightening Headmaster Snape so much in the run-up to Halloween ...?

I'm way too old to be visiting sites like this (dare I admit to forty-something!) but my love of all things Severus Snape/Alan Rickman keep me addicted! Poor health keeps me from working and at home all day and gives me too many excuses to read/write fan fiction in an attempt to keep me sane. I have two lovely sons, and an even lovelier hubby, to try and keep me on the 'straight and narrow'. And, now, they're aided in that task by the more recent addition to our family of two beautiful black, male, kittens - Merlin and Mesmer! (I wanted to call them both Alan Rickman-related names, so, naturally, one was very nearly 'Severus'... Unfortunately, my family drew the line at that particular wizard so I had to be a bit more subtle - hence Mesmer [as in Franz Anton for those not familiar with the AR film, 'Mesmer']; the name also happens to be short for mesmerising!) ;-)
I have a few stories (and poems) posted at Occlumency, under the same pen name as here, and have gradually been expanding on my repertoire both here and there over the last two or three years. Despite claiming to be in 'fanfic retirement' of recent times, I now find myself with newer additions on Ashwinder, Fanfiction.net and Granger Enchanted where I go by the names of Sevvy253 or Sevvysgirl/Sevvysgirl253. However, this site retains the most complete listing of all my work to date.
I also have an account on DeviantArt - http://sevvysgirl.deviantart.com/
where I am gradually starting to display some of my artwork 'attempts'! :-)
And - finally - I'm being totally shameless in promoting my own new shop on Etsy! Here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/sevvy253?ref=si_shop
I'm only just starting up, so stock is limited at the moment, but I'm hoping I will go on to bigger (and better) things. From little acorns, and all that ... Please feel free to pop by from time to time to see what changes may be in store (no pun intended!)

If this is brought on by illness, it's hard to wish you well!
Ah, I was so excited to see you published a story, and what a little gem it was!I have to shamefully admit that I read it as a romance rather than a parody... never mind the cliches, they just make such great bedtime reading.:-)I have to agree with previous reviewers that this just begs for a sequel. Please please, we want to see these two go to the ball (and the restaurant) together, and wouldn't that just be a goldmine of cliches? ;-)So I do hope the muse stops over again!
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Thanks, Herbologist! The trouble is, I don't seem to be able to write romance really (other than in the poems I've done), & everytime I do, humour just seems to take over most of the time! However, whilst I admit to this definitely starting out as a 'parody', I think that somewhere along the line it sort of got a bit too serious to truly be considered that! Maybe I should label it as a 'romantic parody', or a 'subtle parody' or something? And, as I've said before, I don't mind what readers want to think of it as, so long as they enjoy it!But I think I will try & concentrate on more of the romance & less of the parody with the sequel/continuation (which I am working on & which I hope to post before Christmas)! :-)
Response from herbologist (Reviewer)
I love to read your very special brand of humorous romance, no matter what you call it. Looking forward to a pre-christmas update
Great idea. His worst fears are still thoes who really affect the heart.Good to read, that you let him get over his fear, heat him with jeleausy "costricting the chest" (liked this one very much) and then heading for the girl. finally. And there you have a good ending after 20 years of misery. This is why one should survive a snake-bite. To get what one deserves.oh, I'm so happy for him. Always. Everytime I read stories with these themes.Thank you so much for sharing, and thank you for still being addicted.

AH! It's a parody. (jsut read the first review)well, I did recognise some of the usual stuffing, but thought, well, thats the way the author wants it stuffed. But at least now it is official: I am pathetic beyond reparo.I do adore this romantic stuff no end, I can not be helped.
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Oh, bless you! No need to reproach yourself! I'm with you totally on the romantic stuff &, although I really did intend this to be a 'parody' (in as much as I'm really just doing a kind of tongue-in-cheek mickey take of all the SS/HG cliches out there), I am telling a tale too! I'm a sucker for romance too (albeit not too sickly/sugary) & I promise this will end happily (I'm working on a second part right now!)As I said to a previous reviewer, you can read this fic whatever way you like really - it was always intended to be lighthearted fun & humourous - but I know my jobs done if the reader enjoys it! So thank you so much for letting me know that! :-)

(love your name!) I'm really glad you enjoyed my little one-shot & I appreciate you taking the time to tell me :-)
Love this story. So typical of Severus to have no fear in the face of Voldemort but be terrified at the thought of asking Hermione out.
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Exactly! Thank you so much for taking the time to review - I really appreciate it :-)
that was very good. and I do like the things in your shop.very nice. :O)

Thank you,
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
, how very kind of you - on both counts! :-)
Why is it so true that we can be terribly brave at certain things but a little something like asking someone out on a date terrifies us? I suppose it's like a poster I saw recently, said something like "big spiders prove we're all screaming little girls on the inside".As far as the cliches go, I think I just expect them at this point. I've longed to write a SS/OC story with Hermione in the backgroud going "but, but, that was supposed to be ME".Glad the muse stopped to visit, hope she comes again.
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
LOL! You are so right about the little things sometimes being more scary than the bigger stuff - I can definitely relate to that! I'll also confess happily to being a screaming little girl, on the outside aswell as the inside - I'm absolutely terrified of spiders!! (Still can't watch *that* scene in The Chamber of Secrets!)And I definitely agree with the SS/OC thing needing a jealous Hermione in tow! You really should write such a thing (there's not enough spoofs & parodies out there IMHO) - I'd read it! Thanks SO much for your amusing review! :-)
I like your optimistic Snape who is pursuing what he wants rather than letting things happen to him. His thoughts about his colleagues, especially Pomona were hilarious. Thanks.

Very adorable. Can't wait to read more.

If you're not just tricking us. Please give us another treat...
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
I'm definitely NOT tricking you,
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
& I promise to treat you to some more just as soon as it's written! Thank you SO much for reviewing :-)
Very good I wish it had another chapter!
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed my little one-shot - & there will be more (though almost definitely another one-shot or 'stand alone', rather than an additional chapter) as I'm working on it right now! :-)
You know? There is only one thing missing to this story to be perfect... a sequel! I have enjoyed your presentation so much! I was hoping to read the encounter of the two "partners" at the Italian restaurant (I'm Italian, btw, therefore ready to celebrate the triumph of our dishes), instead nothing! You stopped the story just in the moment it had become irresistibly intriguing. Oh well, I' sorry to declare that you tricked us. But I forgive you ;) Thank you very much for sharing this lovely piece and sorry for my abominable English.
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Well, firstly your English is SO much better than my Italian (I struggled out in Rome with it earlier this year!) - so no apologies needed on that front :-) Secondly, I'm actually in the process of writing a 'sequel' (although it will almost definitely be another 'stand alone' or 'one-shot', rather than an additional chapter/continuation of this &, although set at Christmas, will indeed include their little restaurant encounter, complete with lovely Italian food! Thanks SO much for reviewing! :-)
Response from Memory (Reviewer)
Ah, bene! And should you need info about the dishes, don't hesitate to ask ;))))Changing subject, did you personally draw the Snape on the objects you sell online? I can't see him well on my computer, but it looks very good.
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Haha! I LOVE Italian food, so conjuring it up in my imagination shouldn't be too difficult!! And, as for the illustration of Snape -- my son (who, just this summer, qualified as a Graphic Designer) designed the basic picture & I simply added a few decorative bits with an on-line site that offers a similar application to Photoshop. We had to do something original or we would have been in all sorts of trouble with copyright etc.! Thank you for asking & for visiting my shop & coming back to me with your thoughts xx :-)
Enjoyed it. No idea what it's a parody of, but still enjoyed it.
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Thank you,
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
! By 'parody' I'm really just more making issue/fun with the over-use of certain things & the 'cliches' out there in the SS/HG fandom. Hermione's perfect body & teeth, for example, or the varying titles so frequently used for her. The fact that Snape considers himself a pervert for lusting after a former student is just my take on how I think he would actually feel - it is after all pretty much that! Don't get me wrong, I like this shipping (or I wouldn't be writing it!) but so many aspects of it have been done to death or are conveniently overlooked. I guess it should really be labelled more 'tongue-in-cheek' than actual parody - but unfortunatley there wasn't a category for that! ;-) I'm glad you liked it though! :-)
Brilliant parody, well done you! :D
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Haha! I have posted this fic elsewhere &, so far, you are the *only* one to realise (or at least comment that) it's a parody! Perhaps I should award you a prize?!! (Definitely the 'treat', not the 'trick' in your case!) But thank you for reviewing - I really appreciate you taking time to do that :-)
Response from HermioneJeanSnape (Reviewer)
Oh thank god! You never explicitly said it was a parody, so I was really, REALLY hoping it was, because if it was parody, it would be hilarious. If NOT parody... well, you'd be able to cook an egg on my face. Seriously, did you have a cliche checklist? You hit so many of them! :D
Response from Sevvy (Author of Trick or Treat)
Thank you! I started panicking after reading the review after yours, thinking it really wasn't coming across as a parody! (Actually it can be read either, or any, way really - & so long as it's read & enjoyed, I don't really mind what label people put on it to be honest!) :-)
