There’s no such thing as Fate. The simplest acts can take you places you’d never predict. If life is like a game of craps, wrong bettors wager against the roll. Inspired by Wildcat’s Star Trek fic “A Roll of the Dice.” Written and posted with permission.

Reviews for Wrong Bettor
This is putting me in the mind of that Snapefic that never got finished where Snape's younger self gets time-traveled into the future. In it, he has to stay with the now-married Severus and Hermione, and Severus does not like Snape-the-younger!

Thanks for the read and the review. That other story sounds scary! But, fortunately, it also sounds worlds away from what's happening here. Wrong Bettor is almost all humour.
At the beginning I was as disoriented as Severus not understanding what was going on. But I was curious so I continued reading. What I found was an amazing story. Thank you so much!

Thanks for giving it a chance and for letting me know you enjoyed it! That means a lot. I did worry that some readers would be turne doff by the not knowing. but as that was a major point of the story, I didn't let that worry change my plot. So, thank you again for continuing on.

Oh, man. This totally blew my mind. And yet, what a fun read! It looks like they are going to get their happy ending after all, and that is all that matters. Hopefully the same can be said for all of the others.

Ahhh, the others... As I told sunny33, I love to see other writers' ideas of just what those stories are. (hint hint)I'm glad your mind was blown and that you had fun in the process. Thank you so, so much for reviewing every step along the way!

Awww ... sweet Violet was unknowingly diabolical? That's a Slytherin-Gryffindor mix if I ever saw one. What a great surprise! And now to find what happens next ...
Response from TeaOli (Author of Wrong Bettor)
She's certainly an S-G mix (in more ways than one!), but "unknowingly diabolical"? Is that even possible? Thanks for all the witty and fun reviews!

These two seem perfect together, so I do hope that all of this travelling business is over. Not that it wasn't loads of fun for the reader, but these two (and all of the others, too) need a break. And Severus has figured it out? Damn him! I was supposed to get it first. :)

How dare he work it out before you?!?!?! You're right about this being more fun for us than for them. Still, I'm sure they appreciate your approval of their (pending?) couplehood. That's something, at least. Isn't it?

I'm hearing voices in my head now."Keep reading!" "Go fold your laundry!""Keep reading!""Go to work!""Keep reading!""Make sure your kids aren't playing with fire!""Keep reading!"Um, majority rules?
Response from TeaOli (Author of Wrong Bettor)
Please. For my sake, make sure your children aren't playing with fire. Then "Keep reading!" That is the best compliment I've received for this fic. Thanks so, so much!

This was a particularly funny chapter. Well, except for the part where it seems that Severus will never figure out what is going on. I mean, he will, right?
Response from TeaOli (Author of Wrong Bettor)
Thank you and LOL! Poor dear Severus. He's been in a state of near-constant confusion since the prologue. And I like it that way.

Boy, he's getting sucked into this family thing, isn't he? I loved the cooking breakfast scene.I love how he continuously shows up in the same house with mostly the same people, and yet each situation is so very different. How disconcerting! And what has he gotten himself into now?
Response from TeaOli (Author of Wrong Bettor)
It's fun times for Severus Snape, haven't you heard? (He hasn't, mores the pity.)I think being in the same house is the only thing that keeps him (relatively) sane. If he were to travel to a different place, as well as experiencing all the rest, I fear he might start using wandless hexes. As for what's happening at the end of this chapter.... well, I see you've read the next, so no spoilers for you!

Oh, I loved Severus with little Violet. She was so very much a product of her parents. I think I had assumed that somehow children wouldn't be privy to what was going on. This story is making my head hurt in the most delightful way!

Violet is... special, and so is Severus when he's in her company.Ouch! Are you really enjoying the headache, or would like some pain relief? (I recommend reading on.)

This is great fun! In this installment, Severus is piecing together all of the things he has learned, and yet, he surely has no idea exactly what it is he is learning. I like how matter-of-fact Hermione is when she talks of each different version of herself as if it is an every day occurance to have hundereds of versions of yourself and you all know about it.
Response from TeaOli (Author of Wrong Bettor)
I almost feel sorry for Severus. For the Hermiones, knowing so many versions of herself exist is her every day. But for him...

I love how this is totally confusing, and yet, I almost don't feel confused at all. Which has probably now confused you, LOL. Poor Severus, at least the Hermiones have a notebook to keep it all straight.
Response from TeaOli (Author of Wrong Bettor)
If you're totally confused, but don't feel quite as confused as you should, then my work here is done. Thanks for reviewing!!
