I have to apologize to everyone, period. Real life swallowed me whole, as I have been struggling to make a living writing original fiction over the last 8 years. It has not been easy, & has been complicated by health issues. I hope people can forgive my long silences. Trying to make enough money to live on from writing is a lot harder--waaaay harder--than it looks. (At least I didn't leave any posted fanfics unfinished.)
Anyhoo...
These stories are works of parody (& thus are allowable under US law), and are not written for profit. Just for fun. I'm not making any money off of any fanfics, nor will I ever. I'm just playing around in other writers' universes.
...I am, however, making something of a living off my own stories. (If anyone wants to play around in my universes, you may visit my website, www.jeanjohnson.net, and look up my policy on Fanfics & Fanarts. It's reasonable enough and fairly easy to follow, too...)

Alas, she has been exiled to Siberia, and hasn't had much of a chance to come around all that often. (No, seriously; she's working in a research facility somewhere in Siberia.) She'll wander by once every blue moon or so (icy cold blue, that is), so maybe you can catch her...~Lotm
Helen? lol! Is that a reference to the Greek myth? 'Cause by freaky coincidence I had always planned to call my first born daughter Hermione after the Greek myth. But then JK spoiled my little plan. >:[ I can forgive her though, and I'm sure my little Alison is happier not having a famous name. Just felt like sharing. Sorry.
Nice snapshot, btw. Chuckleworthy.

Don't be sorry! Hermione is an interesting name, even if JKR rendered it an icon of her writing. But Alison is a good name, too.Having been named after both my grandmothers, having uncles and cousins who share names (making it very confusing at family reunions at times), my thoughts on the matter are, give your kid a first and a middle name. One simple-ish name, and one multi-syllable name, in either order. This way, they can use either name, or break up the multi-syllable one into their choice of nickname. DON'T name your kid both names after people who are still alive and running around whom they'll come into frequent contact with, as the poor kid (yes, me) will NEVER be able to have "her own" name...and yes, i do feel that strongly about this. They could have named me Elizabeth which was the name one of my grandmothers wasn't using, and which not only very pretty, but full of different ways to break it up into nicknames, but nooooo...Anyhoo, I'm glad you liked this one. It was short, it was cute, and it was fluffy (pillowed). *snerk*~Lotm

Shoulda mentioned, in greek myth Hermione was the daughter of King Menelaus and Helen (later to be of Troy). And since my name is Helen and I love mythology, I thought it was cool. In a geeky kinda way. ;)

Sweet. I hope Hermione knows where to get a supply of conditioner at Hogsmeade.
