Reviews for The Scent of Magic
What a gorgeously-written story...I'm definitely keeping an eye out for future chapters of this one! Loved the mention of the Lush stores (I mail ordered from them for years before they finally placed a store in Dallas!), and Hermione's quest for aromas and scents put me in mind of a book I read years ago called "A Natural History of the Senses" by Diane Ackerman. Your story may cause me to dig that book out again from its dusty shelf! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Thank you for your kind words! I'm thrilled you enjoy the story so far. And the book you mentioned? That was one of the books I consulted for my research!
Obviously I enjoyed this story immensely (the squee!-containing reviews dotted around your chapters should be enough proof, I assume?). I like you style of writing, which somehow strikes me as very unique. I liked the feel of the story - so calm and sensuous, and yet interlaced with a certain amount of quiet dispair. It was very, very rewarding.Did I mention that I enjoy your wit? The references you've put into it (and I'm sure I've only found some of them!) are wonderful. This is magnificent. Now I have to go look at everything else you've written. And I also cross my fingers that I someday find original writing from your hand. I'd love to read it.

Thank you for your wonderful comments. I'm seriously thrilled you enjoyed this story so much. :)In terms of original writing, there are a few poems here at TPP, and some titbits here on my website: http://juno-magic.fancrone.net/blog/projects/magical-advent-calendars/5 However, I am working on launching some of my o-fic as an Indie author with an original epic fantasy novel and a series of urban fantasy novellas later this year. If you're interested, keep an eye on my blog. :)

Oh, and I have to leave another comment even though there are more chapters to go. The gloves! What a reference! I loved it.
And I am still entirely in love with this story. And the depth of your knowledge! I applaud you!
I have to break my normal code of reviewing-conduct, and review before I've read everything published. And simply because of the reference to Grenouille. I love that book, and I am growing more and more fond of this piece of fanfiction art. It is so different by focusing on smells, but it is so fascinating and mesmerising and it totally ensnares me - as if I had one of those migacal perfumes sprayed all ower my laptop.
Reading this again, and that last paragraph still makes me tear up. Also, having become a BPAL addict in the last few months, I'm appreciating this fic in marvelous new ways! As always, an exquisite read.
Truly amazing. I loved ever explicit detail of scent and emotion. I feel as if I have been on a journey during the reading of it.
This was even better than A and N. Snape seems more like his irrascible self; Hermione feels more true to herself as well. I am not usually a big romance fan,but I like the way you twist it.I hope one day you continue with their story and include some little Snapes. It would be fun to have a young one with Snape's wit but Hermione's heart.

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you liked the story. But sadly this story is finished, and I'm afraid there won't be a sequel. Sorry!
