I'm a forty-something American woman who is addicted to the SSHG pairing, relatively new to this fandom. I'm also considering starting some original fiction soon...

Hi, Linlawless! I'm here via the Quiz. (It's fun to read your stories for a change, instead of your reviews, lol!) I love this scene, and love that they immediately feel such an affinity with each other. It's a great read, very seductive, and no wonder that her party is ultimately 'happy'! :)

Hehehehe, ( think she's using positive reinforcement on him. This way, he'll show up for any party Hermione might decide to throw in the future, don't you think? ;) And he deserves a little extra reward for being such a gracious guest. :D Thanks for reviewing!
Well, that's one way to warm a house ;) This was not too angsty, not too fluffy, not to silly, not too dramatic... not too anything. It was simply perfect. I've never thought of Severus as "boyishly adorable", but then unfortunately, I've never seen him as Hermione has this night. Nicely done.

I really enjoyed this, both the first time through and on reread. Lucky wizards apparate, otherwise someone might wonder why Severus' car was still there after the party.Thanks!

Thanks, I'm glad you still enjoyed it the second time through. I've often thought that Apparating would be a heckuva useful skill! Between that and Accio, I'm kinda jealous that I'm not a witch ...

Wonderful story, and a great way to start off my morning at work (shhh...)! Severus managed to maintain his reputation for snarky behavior and still get the girl at the end, as is only proper. Loved the description of Hermione's home, also--my parents had friends in San Antonio many many years ago who lived in a house with a castle-like tower in it, and I always loved that place when I was a child. I immediately thought of their old house when I read your story!

I totally love those old houses with the turrets and towers and things -- they always call to mind fairy tales and romance and possibilities for me. I'm glad I'm not alone in that. I really enjoyed this, loved Severus' inner thoughts and the hotness at the end. Also wondering if it will be followed up with a sequel.
