I love how you didn't feel the need to *over*-explain things, and left more subtle hints that built up through this. :)--and that Hermione was deemed 'incorruptible'. ;)

Response from richardgloucester (Author of A is for)

Thank you very much.  It's one of the delights of the drabble form that it forces a wrier to make every word count, and also to trust the reader.

Atoundingly good in just the lyrical quality of the word-weaving, you somehow slipped in an intriguing mystery with a satisfying resolution as well! Clearly, you must be a magical creature, yourself.

Response from richardgloucester (Author of A is for)

Hee!  Thank you!  I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

I really enjoyed this!  The taxonomy aspect was interesting and tied in quite nicely with the alphabet theme.  The twist at the end, with Slughorn having been used for nefarious purposes, was quite brilliant, too.

Response from richardgloucester (Author of A is for)

Thank you very much!

A is for "Amazing", and also "Awesome" which both describe this story very well. The characters are so real, and you made the materials and their preparations quite believable:) I'd love to see more of this Severus and Hermione.Brava!

Response from richardgloucester (Author of A is for)

Hmm - powdered zinc for galvanizing anything that comes into contact with water? *goes off to check whether galvanize has an 's' or a 'z', then goes back and changes it* What can one do with a zebra skin, other than wear it or make a drum?

Response from richardgloucester (Author of A is for)

Make love on it?!By the timee they got to Z everything else was packed up.And besides - Z is ALWAYS for zebra!

Response from Persevero (Reviewer)

One might risk a zebra-rash on one's bottom and/or zebra-burns on one's knees.
