Again, nicely done.  Lily is the perfect ghost of Christmas past.  I love how I get all "oh my gosh, what is going to happen" even though you undoubtedly are going to stick relatively close to the real story.  Just caught up in the drama I suppose...

Snapey Christmas Carol stories are my secret holiday passion.  I love them, and this one is starting off well. 

“What can I do, Lily?” Severus bowed his head and continued to weep at her feet as he asked for direction. “Live… feel something other than anger. Feel the joy of love and the solace of friendship. Please, Severus… Live.”Though I'm not much of a Lily fan, she has the right of it here. Severus has spent so much time thinking that life had nothing to offer him that he was completely blinded to any possibilities that might have come this way. Severus doesn't know how to live... perhaps somewhere in this night's journey he will might find a clue.

oh this is excellent! What a great twist on a Classic Story, I look forward to reading more.

"A Christmas Carol" is among my favourite stories too, also a couple of those previously written with Severus in the main role (he fit the part so well, don't he?). I really liked this first chapter, very well written and make you want to read more. I am very much looking forward for the next update.

Why has noone thought to do this yet?  What a great beginning to what is sure to be a fantastic tale.  The only thing that makes the great classics even better is stocking them full of the HP characters that I love!  I'm anxious to see who will play what part.  Can we expect the tale in it's entirety before Christmas?  What a great gift that would make!  Nicely done, ladies.

I think Remus would make a great Ghost of Christmas Past. Christmas Present almost screams Dumbledore. Future could maybe be a Dementor, perhaps Voldemort himself. That last would surely scare the Dickens out of 'Scrooverus'!
