I have had a long absence, but there are new chapters up and more on the way. New Midnight Visitor (trying desperately to finish) and another short fic (Touch).
Reviews for Double, Double
I can just hear Severus, " Potter as well? let joy be unconfined. Shall we now await Mr Longbottoms arrival!.''
how delicious! thanks muchly
After seeing the sequel pop up today, I had to go back and reread this one -- and I loved it as much this time as the first. Very funny and I am so glad you decided to continue. I like the feeling I got that Snape and Luna are the "normal" and well-behaved ones in this story. Thanks for sharing. Now I am off to giggle at the sequel, JoAnne

Thanks for your input, I'm glad you liked my brainworm!
Hah! Too funny. I love it. Can't wait to read the next bit.
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for your review :-)
Well, that's a unique interpretation! :)
very cute and entertaining.
Sooo funny! I loved the arguing between the witches during the brewing, and Snapes robes being all they had of him. I can just picture Snape's "delight" at Harry being involved in the next effort.
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Glad you enjoyed! To tell you the truth, the arguing was my favorite part to write. Maybe I'm just contrary that way. Thanks for your feedback. (Grins like an idiot)
Oh this was so wonderful! The potion didn't work but wards did! Love it!
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Glad you liked! I am still working on the sequel. I thought I'd leave this as a one-off, but Snape needs convincing. Thanks for the review!
LOL. Too funny. I'm sure with Harry's help things will go... I'm not going to finish that thought.
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Not smoothly, no... is that what you were thinking? With Snape, nothing ever goes according to plan (smirk)Thank you for the review :-)
What an ungrateful SOB! Go get him, Hermione! Scry his pants off! lol :D
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
LMAOIndeed she should scry. But that involves Divination and we all know what Hermione thinks of that. Thanks for the feedback, though. I'm glad you enjoyed
Good for a laugh, nice one!
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Heehee glad you liked it! Thanks for your review :-)
Er... I could follow enough of those ingredients on my own and am quite sure I can live without the gory specifics. Especially Luna's part. *Shudders*
Judging by Severus' reaction to this attempt, somehow I imagine he'll be simply delighted if Harry decides to join in on the fun. LOL
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Heeeheeeheee! I know! Wouldn't that just serve the Sultan of Snark right???Instead of one barnacle, make it two?(Rubs hands together in evil-plotting-mode)What do you think? Shall Harry also refuse to let go of his new hero? Thank you for the review!HermioneDiggory's response:
Absolutely, Harry should join in. Why should the girls have all the fun?And Harry should bring along Professor Snape's all-time-favorite Potions student to make the nightmare complete... Neville! Adding those two to this noxious brew should guarantee for an explosive ending.
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
... even I could not stoop so low as to inflict Longbottom apon Snape. Your Sadism is truly legendary! (Bows before Royalty)Say... I need a beta for the sequel. You interested?HermioneDiggory's response:
Love to!
This is hilarious! I loved the questions and answers during the brewing. And Snape's efforts to get Hermione to unhand his person cracked me up! Poor man, if he thinks she is bad now, when Harry gets hauled into this, Severus will see just what a "personal barnacle" our Hermione can be! Good job!Beth
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
I am so pleased you enjoyed :-)I thought the threat of Harry would be an ominous foreshadowing of possibilities to come. But he's not exactly 'speaking' to me right now, so he'll have to wait to get involved.I'm glad it tickled you! And your review is lovely fuel for the fires of my fevered inanities--I mean Imaginings.*happy dance*Thank you!
SOOOO funny. I do hope you write more. I'd love to read about the bushy-haired barnacle in search of her favorite 'ship. Poor Snape if he thought Voldemort was persistent. He won't find any peace in peacetime.
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Lol! Ooh, ooh I think you just gave me a nuggett to start with. A barnacle on a 'ship.... hmmmm. Pirates of the Carribean theme? A naughty nautical tale of tenacity in the face of adversity? .... must go back in my think tank to ponder this. If anything comes of this, you're getting credit for the initial inspiration. Thanks for your lovely review!
This was hilarious! I loved that phrase, "my own personal barnacle"--that and the ongoing argument over ingredients throughout the process. At the very least, one would think that interrupting the incantation with excess verbiage would botch the spell all by itself...but I'm not a witch, so what do I know? On the other hand, according to Sev, what do they know? I can only imagine Hermione wearing him down over time and "barnacle" becoming a term of endearment...
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
What can I say? Snape totally took over in this one. "My own personal barnacle" was completely his, and he insisted that I use that particular turn of phrase, or he was going back to his trailer and never finishing the piece. Bastard.I had the same thought about all the interruptions. It just added to the 'comedy of errors' appeal to have the girls bollux up absolutely everything. A term of endearment? Really? You would have me inflict THAT on Severus??? (Smirks evilly) That, my dear, sounds delectibly evil and just what Mr. Snarky pants deserves.... (muahahaha) Serves him right for railroading the director and ad-libbing all over the place. Lovely review! Thank you!
Hermione at wits end and Ginny has to comfort her?a new idea.usually she takes over and has the plan at hand.but this time she is absolutely lovelorn. behaves like he will never accept around himself. ha! just in hiding. not back from the dead.was the potion from Macbeth? beach scene?
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
SNAPE: O_o Indeed it was the potion from Macbeth. Five points to the house of your choice for guessing correctly.RAVENSBLOOD: Oi, back in your box, Snape! Thou great bat of snark!(Aside) I tried to make this a romance in the end, but Snape would have none of it. I couldn't get him out of character no matter how hard I tried. With Hermione, it was just too easy, hence the over-the-top lovelorn loss of her higher brain functions. Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoyed it :-)
Response from salvamea (Reviewer)
*grin* my first response right of Snapes feather!!!ohhhhh and I actually GAINED house points!!!(he must be on drugs, admit it.?)which house? I am a straigtht Slytherpuff or Huffledore, can't make up my mind yet.yes, you were right to leave him by his own. don't twist him to much. If he is in hiding, then there is a reason for it. and as I said, he would never allow one Hermione that behaves like that near him. you were absolutely right. and after that experience, she will get right back on track. ready for all the fluff she goes through in so many other stories at TPP.
Quite amusing!Thanks.
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Thank you. I'm so glad you think so!
I loved this, however - I think that Shakespeare wrote in Iambic Pentameter not Tetrameter? Funny when he told her not to finish her line! Poor Severus... with Harry helping he will not escape!
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
I thought so as well, but in the course of my studying this particular verse I found there was a difference.Tetrameter (from tetra or four) is like Pentameter (from penta or five) in that it refers to the number of lines that form the rhyme.I'm absolute PANTS at explaining this, mostly because I don't really understand it that well, myself. When I write poetry, it's free-form, and it's been about a decade since I took Creative Writing. I might continue this in another one-shot, then again, I feel for Severus. So maybe I'll let him stay uncaught. Thanks for the review!
LOL, lots...
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
YAY! That's what I was going for. Thank you for the review!
It's very original. I love it. Just a queation though: does the question mark after the end means you might write more ? Because I'd love to read it were it the case.
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
... I might be persuaded to write another one. Or maybe a series twisting the Bard's verses to suit my nefarious purposes. I just need to have inspiration smack me over the head. Any suggestions?
He He loved it! It also reminded me of a time when in 2nd year of High School I played witch number 1 during our end of year Drama production, but unfortunately Severus Snape did not materialise- Do you think that maybe there is actually a difference between esoteric toad or a naturally poisonous one despite Hermione's research? *smirks* Thanks so much for a great take off of one of the Bard's great works.Cheers,Rita
Response from Ravensblood (Author of Double, Double)
Hmm... considering the magical world has its own plants, beasts, and predelictions concerning food, I figured there would be a difference. (There, that was my know-it-all moment)I'm ever so glad you liked it! I couldn't get it to leave me alone... always in the back of my head like one of those viral songs. Thanks so much for your review!
Poor Hermione, LOL.... nice, thank you.
