The seed was planted, indeed. I'm not so sure that Hermione's mother planted the seed as much as she watered and cared for an already existing seed till it sprouted and found the sun!Now I wonder what the guys were talking about while they were grilling in the back yard. Would her father give Severus his blessing or the third degree?I'm looking forward to the next update!!!!Beth

Indubitably, although I don't know whether Mr. Granger was thinking "Does this man have feelings for my daughter?" or "This man needs to get his teeth bleached!" more. ;)
Oh, brother! The 'mom' talk - how embarrassing...but, it did get Hermione thinking. Do you think Severus will be getting the 'dad' talk, too? Maybe the 'friends' will have something to discuss after dinner. Great chapter. :D

Well, I didn't write 'the dad talk', mostly because it didn't occur to me, but also because I feel like it wouldn't occur to Mr. Granger. He seems like an Arthur Weasley, kind and generous, but also slightly oblivious. :) *shrugs* I feel like the only thing he'd be thinking about would be: "I have to fix this man's teeth!" LoL. This chapter was the vindication I have always thought Severus deserved, and it is so beautifully written. I could see him as he slowly made his way to the dais amid the standing ovation and the echos of the Minister's words of praise. And the perfect element was the kiss, so unexpected and so full of meaning.I love this chapter soooooo much. Well done!Beth
