I've said this before when I've stumbled across particularly well-written Dramione fics, but it deserves repeating here: I seem to forget how much I enjoy Draco's character, delving into the Malfoy family's dynamic, and Dramione in general until I read it again (almost exclusively reading SSHG nowdays). I look forward to this journey you will take us on, and to getting reaquianted with a few characters that I found most fascinating in the HP series, but were sorely lacking in exposure and depth during the books.

Holy crap that banner is just perfection! It took awhile to get a straight answer out of Lucius didnt it? Even now he phrased things so he could worm his way around if he wanted. Damn the man. Poor poor Draco

yIPPPEEEEEEEE!!! we have ourselves a saga to follow fangirls! Squeeeee!!!! I of course have a million questions you wont answer. What would Draco rather be doing than running Malfoy industries? Why are they short on money? they arent really going to have DE over for dinner are they? why did Harry have a Malfoy box? Where the hell is Hemrione? Waiting no so patiently for the next update you big tease.

I am uber-excited.  Always glad to see another story from you here; i've been on the lookout.  Thank you, and this looks like it'll be an awesome story!

*sigh* While I certainly don't blame Katie, I do see where Draco is coming from. He was young and desperate, and the desperate generally don't make well thought out decisions, and when you add in the inexperience of youth, it is almost always disasterous. And, I do think that Draco truly, to the core, understands that what he did during those years was wrong, and he really does have a deep, honest regret for them.

I've never really bought into the idea of Hermione being a potions researcher, as she didn't seem to have a natural affinity for it in the books. Yes, she could follow the instructions set before her and brew the potion 100% correct, but it always seemed to me that she didn't have that deeper connection with the art of potions-making. I do love that she's the Arithmancy Professor, and I'm very amused that she's Head of Slytherin House, and that Blaise is Head of Gryffindor.

I look forward to seeing how this continues to develop, but it's time for a break from reading, for me to get some writing of my own done!

*sigh* crap! I was so hoping it wasn't blackmail! Poor Draco. Why do I get the feeling that Harry knows a lot more about this than he let on? Somehow, this blackmail has the feel of someone on the dark side, or perhaps within the Ministry. I look forward to finding out!

Oh thank goodness, I do hope that's the end of Pansy trying to marry Draco! It's amusing to me that she can't tell the difference between a man not kissing her back and a man being a bad kisser.

The interraction at the quidditch game was... interesting. I do like that Draco and Charlie seemed to hit it off well enough, though I'm with Draco -- Harry is definitely not being completely honest. I really want to know what's in that box, and I hope it won't be too much longer before we get to find out!

As for Hermione, I'm really glad that he was drawn to her right away. It does make sense that he would feel the deepest regret to her, for standing by while she suffered at the hands of his deranged aunt.

All in all, a great chapter!

It's so sad to me that you have so few reviews for this fic! In just these first two chapters, you've pulled me in, and I can't wait to keep reading through the rest! I can't guarantee I'll review every chapter, but I'll certainly try *grin*

You've painted a very clear picture of the life Draco has built since the end of the war, and I do love how Lucius has bounced back since prison. He's treading a very fine line, but he's had many years' practice finding his balance there. I do hope he was honest with Draco about not restarting the DE's, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he lied. And, Pansy is very annoying. I do hope that she will be dealt with, and soon. Though I imagine she'll be very difficult for Draco to shake off.
