Reviews for The Little Flat
Hooray! Finally they are together in their new home! I can't wait to read about the wedding and, perhaps, get a look at their lives in the years to come.Very nicely done, Valady! You've put a big smile on my face. Thank you.Beth

*preens* Thanks for the lovely review. Glad I could make you smile. :)
This was lovely - well done; I'm really glad it's all worked out for them and that Hermione was able to stand up to Harry about her feelings for Severus!I now really look forward to the epilogue ... :-)
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed my little tale.
Yay! Go Hermione!I just hope Severus is there waiting for her.
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
We'll find out in the next chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. :)
This got better and better, Your writings really improving, Good job look forward to more.
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Thank you very much. :D
Very interesting story and I totally believe the way that you've captured Molly. She is portrayed as everyone's mother in the books but I can totally see her as the interfering mother-in-law. Look forward to reading more.
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Thank you. If you'll recall, though, in GOF Molly was cold towards Hermione when she thought what Skeeter was writing about her was true! The next chapter is with the beta, so it shouldn't be too long. :)
I'm so glad to see this story back up again! I wondered if you would ever get round to updating & I'm really pleased you have.I always feel couples splitting up/divorce & everything is a kind of double-edged sword. On the one hand, I think the person instigating it is brave but, equally, sometimes, it's a huge step & if it involves breaking another's heart, I would possibly consider it selfish. However, Ron doesn't seem particularly upset to be losing Hermione - just annoyed that it's Severus he's losing her to! I really hope he's waiting for her back at the flat now ... And I also look forward to more of this. (Please don't leave us all hanging on so long next time!) :-)
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Sorry you had to wait so long. Real life and a missing beta are my only excuse. I do have a new beta, now and she's working on the next chapter. Hopefully, it won't take too long.
Good for Hermione, it's about time she stood up for herself and moved on from what she knows was a bad situation. Hopefully, Severus is there when she gets back. I have a feeling that Ron may choose to confront Severus at some point, even though he's already lost Hermione. And it's his own bloody fault in many ways, but Hermione bears a share of the blame for allowing Molly to bully her into ignoring her mother's wise advise and her own instincts in the first place. Speaking of Molly, good thing Harry's undertaking the task of forwarning Arthur... God knows, Molly's liable to lose it completely when she finds out that Hermione had the nerve have a love affair and then choose 'the other man' over her precious ickle Ronnieskins.
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
It was a long time coming for Hermione. The thought of Severus being so far away finally pushed her to make a decision. I imagine Molly come close to having a stroke when she found out. LOL
Thanks for reading and the lovely review!
I enjoyed the sparring between Molly & Hermione. Ha! Although the confrontation with Ron was too easy...are more fireworks to come?
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
You'll have to read to find out. Thanks for the review! :D
Come on Hermoine...what is the problem? We would all change places with you in a minute....Ron sucks, Severus is altra cool....I ask again what is the problem???? (you will let us know soon won't you Valady)
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Hehehe yes, very soon... Only a few chapters left and hopefully the wait won't be so long this time. :)
It's so nice to see this story back up again. Just what is Hermione waiting for? Staying with a Weasley, who lets his over-bearing mother rule the roost or running away with our dear, darkly romantic Potions master? No competition in my book - I'd be booking those flights without a second thought if it were me (if only!) I really look forward to the next update of this; good story :-)
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Sorry for the long wait, but my beta is quite busy. I'm with you, no competition there at all. Only three or four chapters left and you'll have all the answers. :)
It is so blissful for them, but I can't help but wonder when the little bubble will burst. Yea, and Ron's a tool. =]
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Well only a few more chapters until the end, so you'll find out soon. :D
I think Hermione needs to come a decision. You would choose Severus over Weasley wouldn't you? Look forward to more.
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Thanks. It won't be too long now until we find out what she does. :)
Mothers do often know best. I wish Hermione had listened to hers. However, Molly was obviously only thinking of Ron when she pushed for a quick marriage. Seems Gryffindors do like rushing into things! "He had come to a decision, one that could change things for the both of them."Oh, dear! That sounds rather ominous. It looks like they're going to be a bit too busy for a serious discussion any time soon, though!
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Hehehe it's a fast paced story, so the wait won't dragged out for chapters on end. Thanks so much for the reviews, sweety.
It's always heartwarming to see Severus loved in return. He deserves such happiness. I am intrigued as to why Hermione has yet to leave Ron. What could be standing in her way? They have gone to a great deal of effort to make their hideaway completely secure. There must be a good reason for that. I can't wait to find out more!
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
*hearts you* The only thing keeping everyone waiting is one of my betas. She has all the chapters, but rl is keeping her quite busy.
Well, I'll continue reading. I'm curious to see what happens next. :) Don't let that flame get to you, especially since it comes from someone who either doesn't write or doesn't have the guts to put their own writing out there for the world to see it.
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Thank you! *hugs* I've let it go for the most part already. There's always one of that type in every crowd.
lovely update. it is too bad she didn't listen to her mum...i wish i'd listened to mine. thanks so much
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Thanks. :) Yes, I think we've all had moments when we wish we listened to Mom.
I'll continue to read your story. :) I wonder what she's going to do and if she'll choose Severus. The other reviewer does have a point about run ons. We missed a few things, but I don't think it's anything to stop reading a story over. I've seen much worse. Trust me on that.Anyway, I've been writing for years, and I have had my fair share of nasty reviews sometimes. I don't let it bother me too much. You can't please everyone, and some people are just plain rude when they could be nicer and get the same point across.Cheers.
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
*Hugs you*
No one is perfect and certainly not me. I've seen stories on FFnet, so yeah I've seen worse too.
I've had flamers and bad reviews before, but that one just rubbed me the wrong way. I was more insulted for my betas than for myself. If someone doesn't like my story I can deal with that. I can't please everyone, and I gave up trying many years ago.
Who does she choose? Mmm, well, Hermione is no fool. :)
I probably won't continue to read this story, because you have some issues with run-on sentences that make it difficult to read. For example:"In a little cottage in Hogsmeade, Hermione Weasley prepared to leave. She was going to their flat, the one place in the whole of Wizarding Britain that no one except she and her love could enter. The spell they'd used to ward their little world was borderline Dark Magic, each had spilled blood in order to set it to recognize only them and let no other inside. The magic used was ancient, Purebloods had used it to protect their homes and estates for centuries from unwanted intruders. Its not as if anyone else knew about the flat, or about the two lovers, not even Hermiones parents knew."Those are just the first few sentences. Sentences 3, 4, and 5 all contain run-on sentences (starting at 'each had spilled...', 'Purebloods had...', and 'not even...' respectively.) Each of those should either be new sentences or contain a semi-colon. This issue cropped up throughout the first chapter multiple other times as well.I'm not trying to be totally evil or anything, but when you have a plot that's been done many other times by people with much better grasps of basic grammar, it gives me no real reason to continue to read YOUR story. Have you considered a beta?
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
I have two betas actually and one of them is PI Certified. This story also went through the submissions staff of TPP.
I guess the problem is you. If you don't like the story that is fine. I can't please everyone, nor do I try to.
Have a nice day.
Response from michiruwater (Reviewer)
That wasn't very mature. I only reviewed because I thought you might like to know of this issue with your writing. The run-on sentences are not something I am making up for giggles. If you do not want to improve, that is no issue with me. I won't bother to read anything you write in the future then.
Headmistress's Response: Michiruwater, her response was quite mature; your review, however, was not. In fact, it was incredibly rude. I would not even consider this concrit but just blatant criticism. If you do not like a story because of a certain reason, you have the right to voice this, but in a non-aggressive, kinder manner.
Let me also point out #9 in the Terms of Use, which you have violated. I highly suggest you revisit your attitude before you leave reviews and reread them before submitting to eliminate any language that might be considered rude in the future.
Tsk tsk tsk, naughty, naughty ;-)
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Who? Me? Hehehehe
Response from morgaine_dulac (Reviewer)
No, your neighbour, hehe
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
LOL You've never seen my neighbor. That doesn't make for a pretty picture. hehehehe
Response from morgaine_dulac (Reviewer)
And how do you know that I haven't seen your neighbour? (hehe, sorry, feeling mischievous today)
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
LMAO... If you did you never would have said that. Believe me!
Thanks, I needed the laugh after dealing with that review I received today.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Reviewer)
You're so welcome! And don't let reviews get to you!! It's not worth it.
I am really interested in where you're going to go with this. She's going to be in quite a position very soon, it would seem. (No pun intended!!)
Response from Valady (Author of The Little Flat)
Thanks! It gets interesting. I'll have the next chapter up ASAP. :)
