Hello all, I am a 53 year old from NZ. Although SSHG is how I started and still my main pairing, I'll give pretty much any pairing a try, whether it be reading or writing. Sev and Herms need a bit of variety at times. ;)

This story is absolutely adorable. I love the people cheering them on, too.

So beautiful! Poor Hermione to get sick like that, but oh, what a tender and loving side Severus is showing here!

Just as well no-one but Poppy can see him! :)

"Hidden Assets" ... *cough* *gasp* *giggle* *snort*Nice start so far ... I'll be curious to know Snape's reaction if he ever finds out what is it that has the Resident Swot daydreaming in the clouds ...
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Resident Swot. LOL :)
YAY! Harry has talked to Hermione and made it clear that she and Severus have his support. That has to be a great weight off Hermione's shoulders. Now if Ron and Ginny can see their way to lending their good wishes, that will be the icing on the cake.
I like that Poppy knows everything and has taken pains to see that Severus has been able to care for Hermione undiscovered during the overnight hours. She really has a soft spot for him in her heart, and anything that makes his life happier is fine by her.
The "accomplice" that surprised me the most was Madam Pince. Her character is not often developed much in fanfic, and I like that you have given us a peak into the quiet witch's thoughts and feelings. When she told Hermione about Albus and Minerva's love when he was Miss McGonagall's professor, I was delighted. Hermione will have an understanding woman in her mentor, and that can only be good. Regardless of what Minerva will share, or not share, with Hermione about the pitfalls of a professor dating a student of legal age, she will understand completely what Severus and Hermione mean to each other.
When Severus knelt by Hermione's bed and declared his love for her, I melted. Melted, I tell you! His heartfelt expression of his feelings was filled with hope and longing, and Hermione's feelings mirrored his own. I'm looking forward to seeing how Severus manages their "alone time" next week. With all the theories now circulating among the student body about the reason for Severus' ill demeanor, they will surely be emboldened to expand on their theories until they learn the real reason. This could make for some devilishly sophomoric whispering.I have loved this tale from the beginning, and again you do not disappoint. Wonderful chapter, Sunny!Beth

Thanks, Beth! Ron may be a problem, but you will have to wait and see. :)
dear madam pince. that was quite wonderful. love this story and you!! thanks so much
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Thanks for the review, kim! :)
Hello There! I just started reading this story of yours on Monday. And I totally fell in love with it and blew through the first five chapters. It was actually reccommended to my by a friend and I was like why not? I'm so glad she told me to read it now! This fic of yours totally rox my sox! I've always been a huge fan of SS/HG getting together while she's a student. I don't know, I'm just naugty that way. But the way you're writing them is amazing! She's not crazy "Innocent!Hermione" and he's not "Cliche!Snape" They have their own distinct personalites that aren't abrasive or too extremely out of character. And I'm a bit of a voyer at heart so I could totally relate to why Hermione kept going back to check him out. Thanks for the wonderful addition to my library of stories I love. Much Love ~ Brena

I'm glad you are enjoying it! :)
I wasn't expecting Madam Pince to come along, but it was a pleasant surprise. I also hope that Severus finds a way for he and Hermione to have some 'alone time.'
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
I think he might... :)
I totally loved ms. pince talking to her, and how he laid in bed with her. Totally cool.
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Thanks. :)
Awww this is a lovely story, and I say that as a true non HG/SS fan. Hooked now. More please!
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Coming! :)
"It’s amazing how soft and yet how hard it is. Like velvet over steel. It’s beautiful.” Ohhh yes. Just beautiful ;)
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
You were imagining it, weren't you, missie? ;)
You know, I am not really a fan of SS/HG, but I am really enjoying the slow, sweet courtship.
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Oh goodie, we may have a convert... :)
Snape's pubic hair. SNAPES! Now I can't stop thinking about it! ;)
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
There are pills for that... :P
So Minerva's not going to be problem, and Harry seems reasonable. Any chance Ron won't be an ass?
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Not telling! You'll find out. :P
Oh, how sweet. They have two allies.
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Everyone needs allies! :)
You gave Madam Pince a heart!!! Well done, I always feel a bit sorry for the old dear! Great chapter, sweet declarations of love and the promise of future shagging... what more can a fan fiction fanatic want??
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Depends on the fan fiction fanatic, I suppose. Some like it dark and angsty... *whistles* :)
Ok There are definitely still moments of "aw" but you really need to hit edit on the long emotional speeches. They are a little too much, definitely much too "let's have a recap" and also very OOC for both characters. Hermione just wouldn't do all of those sex talk out in the open things either. It just feels like you forced it a little too quickly. Up to Chapter 3 was great, but then I feel you started jumping the gun. Your Snape is definitely going too far OOC. I really do admire you for your tenacity in writing a story though, god knows I haven't had the patience. I just think this story has the potential to be great, but very few people on here will offer constructive crit. and I wanted to at least provide you with some before the story goes too much farther with all of the OOC stuff. I think it just throws you back out of the story because it doesn't mesh with what we know about the characters, at least to me. I hope you know what I am trying to say. I think you have done really well overall, but the dialouge just needs work. Nor would Hermione tell harry that she was off to shag snape, you know?
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Firstlyl, thank you, Maeve. I always appreciate it when reviewers take the time to tell me what they think. Yes, I agree they are somewhat OOC, but it is intentional. In Snape particularly, I am exploring his potential once he has escaped from under the thumb of his two taskmasters and is free to live his life as he wishes. He has shown that he is an emotional man before. His tears as a teenager; his great love for Lily which surpassed her marraige to another and even her death; his outbursts of anger, such as in the Shrieking Shack in POA. He is not a cold, emotionless man, but has had to hide his feelings for many years. Now he has found someone he trusts to reveal them to. Hermione has grown up. She is nineteen, in love, and completely at ease with Severus. Maybe she wouldn't tell Harry she is off to shag Snape in normal circumstances, but in this story he is her de facto girlfriend/confidante, so he will just have to suffer! :)I realise that not everyone will like the way I have taken these characters, but I value your input anyway. Thank you for your thought-provoking review. :)
I absolutely loved this chapter, the support Hermione and Severus receive from Poppy, Harry and now Madam Pince are like fine music in my ears! Very well done!!!!
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
Severus has more friends than he realises. Thanks for reviewing. :)
Great chapter. I like the way you handled Harry and Madam Pince in this chapter. Looking forward to reading more.
Response from sunny33 (Author of The Runner)
More is coming soon. :)
Yay for Madam Pince. I always like seeing her character more fleshed out in stories, particularly as a kind gossip.Love the chapter, looking forward to more.

Thanks, Rhiannon. :)
