Reviews for A Husband's Discovery
That was a mighty impressive feat! I don't think I could have done it without commas. I get in so much trouble at work because my boss hates my wordy writing style. I hate the condescending, child reading level handouts they make for my medical patients who are apparently too ignorant to be given the respect to decide what they need to know or not about their condition because they are not a medical professional, and "No one reads handouts anyway!" Not those lame ones for sure. The story was also quite lemony good, as well. Oooooh how they hate the "as wells"!
This was very very lovely, and hot :)
Also, lol @ Lucius giving up on the hooker as soon as he realized there might be effort involved.
Very nice, but it left me wanting a bit more background on how things came to be between Severus and Narcissa. I guess that's for the next installment!
Very erotic. Rather intriguing, indeed. I can certainly see Lucius enjoying the sight - of both of them. And I certainly hope to read more about the three of them..
scintillating
Fun read! Lucius enjoyed watching them so much, I'm sure he'll want a nearer vantage point next time:)
Quite an image. Thanks :D I wonder if voyeurism will evolve into active participation.... not at all a hint in any way shape or form that you should write something following on from this and along that theme :D
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
*lol* Not at all. (Like I believe that for a moment.)Thanks. I'm itching to write something more serious and less erotic-based ... do you have a couple hours to spare in the day so I could get that done? The Q has been absolutely nuts, not to mention my life. And I'm editing for my daughter, of all people!! (Darn projects and reports!)
Response from sweetflag (Reviewer)
Saw through me, eh? *shucks*I'm sorry that things are so hectic--I wish that I could donate some time... We need Time-turners! I saw the queue length when I submitted, and I've never seen it so huge--was a whopper! I do have some free time, so if there is something that I can do, then just holler.
That was definitly hot! I enjoyed reading it very much!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Thanks!!
Ooh, what a twist. I was actually looking forward to a confrontation, but voyeurism! That's hot, too! Now that we've had Narcissa's and Lucius's perspective, can we look forward to Severus's?
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Oh, voyeurism in my book is extremely hot, so of course it had to be this way. *smirk*
Now that is an interesting reaction! Not rage, not apathy, but....arousal. How unexpected. Hmmm...we shall see how this develops.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
That's Lucius in my world. Anyway, he'd be a hypocrit if he raged about it.
Response from HermioneJeanSnape (Reviewer)
Yes, well, Lucius seems to be the kinky type, but also I don't think he'd be prone to sharing. He's a Malfoy, I don't think sharing was covered when he was a kid. Also, Lucius could easily be a hypocrite. It fits his personality.However....I like the possibilities here :)
Only just saw this new category! I've read the counterpart of this, too. Nice! Great solution to a boring sexlife. But by whom exactly is Lucius turned on here: his wife, or Severus?? Or both?
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Lucius is an odd one. I think he's a bit of a voyeur. And I DEFINITELY was thinking in my head he had been turned on by BOTH. (See Insinuation. You'll know what I mean.)
At first I thought it was Severus too, heh. I had to go back, and then I saw all the little things that made it decisively Lucious from the beginning. That was cool. A very interesting look into his mind.Should I feel corrupted, cuz I feel almost naughty for enjoying this, lol.Cheers,Stef =o)
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Should you feel corrupted ... hmm ... If you feel that way, perhaps my job is complete! *snicker*
So Lucius... so so Lucius
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Mm-hmm... I love to write Lucius. I should do it more often. I believe once I'm finished with a couple WIPs, I will be concentrating on characters I haven't yet fully explored.
Response from irishredlass (Reviewer)
oooh I would love to see you do something with ss/hg and ginny with one of the Malfoys

The lack of commas doesn't take away, though it certainly doesn't read as "NSS's" style.
Forget that, though. There was a lot to love in this piece -- the details of the whore's ill-fitting clothes and the bar of soap stuck to the sink, Lucius being asked to leave a restaurant, and most of all, his tone while describing all of this -- it's so, "I had a terrible day, and this is what happened," over cognac, except that it's about a disappointing sexual experience with a prostitute. !!!
And they were doing it on ol' Lucius' desk, eh? That made me snicker.
This was great, surprising in the details, actually, and the overall tone.
Author's Response: Thank you.
Yup, you take away my commas, and the prose just won't flow like it usually does. But from all the little things you mentioned, I think I made up for it a little. :)
I am amazed at this delicious little story you created without the use of a single comma, dear. It is the perfect accompaniment to A Wife's Needs. Lucius' kinky side is always fun to read! Well done!!!Beth
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Lucius' any side is always fun to read and/or write and/or look at, in my opinion. Very, very nice to look at.
My, my, my, naughty Lucius. And don't even get me started on how naughty you are. Gee, i love you! ;-)Have a very, very nice weekend./M
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Me, naughty? I have no idea what you're talking about.
I liked how you set up the story. I was surprised when the narrating character said Severus was fucking his wife. Like what? That wasn't Severus before? And I'm amazed that you guys wrote these great little one-shots with no commas! That takes some skill…
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Yes, that seems to be a problem with this story, unless you read its predecessor first. Then it would be obvious it was Lucius at the beginning. I couldn't even use all of Severus' exclamation at the end (to mimic the other story) because it had a comma.
not only erotic, but provides an interesting glimpse into lucius's psyche - all with no commas! i'm impressed.
i think there's a little error: "The manager at the restaurant he was supposed to meet the rather expensive prostitute had asked ..." i think you are missing a "where," maybe?
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Actually, the word 'where' is optional at that point. It works either way. ;) It is a little wordy though, that's for sure.
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
if you don't have the "where" then don't you need "at" after prostitute? it seems like she's just kind of hanging there. which of course, she was in the end anyway. :)
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Nope. The prepositional phrase is: at the restaurant he was supposed to meet the rather expensive prostitute – it's confusing, really, because it had to be written in a way that no commas could be used. Makes it difficult to read.
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
okay, thanks for explaining. i see it now. :)
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
's okay. I was explaining for myself at the same time. I was second-guessing myself there for a while.
*chuckles* Oh, you had me going there for a minute! I thought the narration was Severus, but you twisted it and made it Lucius! And what a delicious twist it was!I commend you for accomplishing this comma-less ficlet. I can't imagine writing without commas, as they are so handy. But not only did you manage it, but you did it very well.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Thank you. It wasn't easy. I kept having to delete beginnings of sentences because introductory phrases sort of messed things up. No using names in dialogue... It's amazing how dependent we are on commas.
Oh my my naughty Lucius enjoyed the show. What will to do with this next?
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Maybe a lengthy sentence challenge would do?
Sounds like a win-win-win situation. Welcome to the crazy challenges committee! :)
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Mmm-hmmm ... Did you post yours yet? I'm playing Texas Hold 'Em while answering reviews and totally shirking other responsibilities. Didn't check yet.
Kinky! I, of course, approve.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
So. Does that automatically mean that anything kinky you approve of? Hmmmm.... 'Cuz you know there's more where that came from.
Response from peppermint (Reviewer)
I approve, in general, of kinkiness. ;)
I understand better what you meant. Lucius the Voyeur. I think it fits his personality rather well.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of A Husband's Discovery)
Oh, I think so too. Most definitely.
Hot and sexy, thank you!
Wow! That was so hot.
I am actually a Lucius/Narcissa shipper and in my head they have always been faithful to each other, but on occassion for their sex games, something like this scenario would happen.
So hot!
