An Extension of my Romancing The Wizard story - Lost and Found. Their romance had been, through necessity, brief yet intense, infuriatingly unconsummated, but nevertheless significant for them both. Moments were grasped whenever possible: when he brought her notes about the Horcruxes when the boys were away. What happens after the events of the Battle of Hogwarts.

What can I say a 30 something mother of 1 who works as a clinical chemist in a path lab and has a 'thing', if its possible to have a 'thing' for a character, for a certain Potions Master.
RL has stalled the plot bunnies and I've no idea if/when I'll feel like writing again.

Please, oh please tell me that you have not given up on this story? Tell me that the muse is just taking an extended holiday!! I have fallen in love with this story. I usually don't read unfinished stories, but it was on one of my favorite writer's, favorite stories list so I gave it a read. Please update soon; I don't know what I can bribe you with but I'll start with chocolate!

Oh, I am SO glad she didn't proceed with Padraig. He is nice, but she hasn't handled her grief yet. Some people grieve quickly and others linger and embrace their grief. Hermione has to mourn not only the man, but the loss of potential... all her dreams and hopes and wishes disappeared with his "death", and it will take time for her to confront that head-on and respond properly.

I think it was very telling of the link that Severus and Hermione obviously still share that in the early morning hours, about the same time she was recalling their meeting in the Forest of Dean, Severus was dreaming about making love to her... and both were sad about the way things had turned out, she believing that he was lost to her through death, and he believing himself unfit to be part of her life any longer, that he would hold her back. And both are ashamed of the injuries they received in the final battle. Severus is all too aware of his reduced abilities both physical and magical, and Hermione feels she must apply a glamour to hide her scars.
I approve of Hermione's reaction to Padraig's putting his arms around her waist, and when he urged her to go to Spinner's End so she could began the process of "getting over" Severus I understood exactly how she felt and why.
I can't wait to see what Narcissa says to Severus while they walk in the garden and decide the best place to plant his potions garden. I'm sure he will tell her that he will not tie Hermione to a broken man, but I'm also sure that Narcissa will plant the seeds of recovery in his mind.
I was thrilled to see Severus engrossed in the article in Potioneer Monthly, especially since it was what he considered pure rubbish from a less than talented potions maker. Since he is taking notes on all the things the writer had gotten wrong, I couldn't help but hope that Severus would feel the need to prove the man wrong. There's nothing like a little fire in the belly to get someone moving in the right direction! Once again you've given us a stellar chapter!!!

Aww, Beth, you've brought tears to my eyes.You're the first one to pick up on the fact that the pair were thinking of each other at about the same time of day, fifty points to your house, m'dear. Both feel the loss of the other keenly yet both still have a way to go.Hee hee, trust a fellow chemist to pick up on the fact that the fire in Severus' belly may well be rekindled by the article in the journal, you're right, there is nothing like wanting to prove someone else wrong to get the old heckles up and a certain determination running free.Padraig has one last card to play, I think but I doubt that Hermione will listen to him.Narcissa is of course plotting, Lucius may still have a few home truths to reveal and you should never underestimate a Hufflepuff... even if he has been quiet recently, he has information now, and I dare say he'll use it to light a fire under a certain dour man. Narcissa does have a plan, Lucius may still have some truths to tell Severus, and you should never underestimate the wisdom of a Hufflepuff Magiotherapist.As for Hermione, Padraig has one more card up his sleeve, and Ginny is waiting back in Scotland to join Hermione in a visit to Spinner's End.All is not lost, this is an SS/HG love story.Thanks for taking time to leave a comment.
I really hope that Narcissa has a plan to convinve him of informing Hermione of him being alive. I ache to see them suffering apart like that.

At least Severus is thinking about Hermione and the possibilities for his life, good. I worry that he'll learn about Padraig. I suspect Severus would back off faster than light. I'm such an optimist, huh. Wonderful chapter, I loved it.

Between Lucius and Trewella I hope Sev will see some reason and decide to let Hermione know he's alive. But I'm afraid of Minerva's plans. If he were to have only the sligthtest indication that Hermione is starting to move on, he'll back away more quickly that he can say Legillimens.I trully wonder why he would condemn himself to such a life of misery, why he would deny himself happiness. Of course I know why, but I ache for him, knowing he doesn't deem himself worthy of love. Maybe Trewella will not be enough. Surely there is a psychologist he can meet to help him.Last I'd like to thank you for such a wonderful story.

Ah, yes, Trewella haas yet to put forward his view of events, which will happen in the next chapter. Minerva isn't really trying to get Hermione and Padraig together, her intentions were for Hermione to talk about her feelings with someone who wasn't involved in the battle against Voldemort.Alas, Severus still believes that he doesn't deserve love after what happened with Lily...damn that woman...you've hit the nail on the head, he has to accept that he is worthy of unconditional love.I'm thrilled that you love this story and that it has engaged you enough to review each chapter, I really appreciate your comments and encouragement.*hugs*
Do I sense a little progress here for our favorite Potions Master? After perusing the Advanced Potions text that Hermione had prepared from his own student text, and thinking on the dedication that Hermione had written, Severus was prompted to work on strengthening his control of his magic. Hooray!Lucius certainly gave Severus a determined lecture about how much Hermione loved him, and how foolish he thought it was for Severus to refuse to see her. Good for Lucius! I think his blunt words may have gotten through to Severus a bit, enough to make him think about his recent decisions to remain hidden. This can only be a good thing.With the new found information that Trewella has about Severus' relationship with Hermione, he has some new ideas to get him to work harder to rehabilitate his injured leg and strengthen his magic and his body. This should be interesting, and I can't wait to see how this turns out.Now, just what is Minerva up to? Whatever her plans, it's obvious that Padraig is aware of them, and I can only wonder what the Headmistress has in mind to rescue her protégé from her sadness.Great update! I love it!!! I love it!!! I love it!!!

Yes, our beloved Potions master is making progress, alas, there is still a long way for him to go yet. He needs to realise that he is worthy of Hermione's unconditional love.Severus was very much keeping to his Slytherin roots when he distracted Lucius with his display of controlling his magic...*sly grin*Lucius has reached his limit, after his conversation with Minerva he realised just how much Hermione cared for Severus, he has also realised that Severus is denying himself a happy future with someone who see's the man behind his myriad layers of protection.Minerva isn't really plotting as such; she believes that encouraging Hermione to spend time with Padraig will help her heal.I'm so glad that you are enjoying this fic, your reviews ALWAYS make my heart swell with joy.Thanks you for your encouragement and advice.*smooches*Sav.
