I believe you have been taking pointers from other authors who give horrible horrible evil cliff hangers (Subversa, Sunshine, Keladry, Cocoachristy, Ginnyweasley to name a few)....

You know I was so tickled with all the chapters I got to read this evening and then this..

I was getting all warm and fuzzy (since its freezing in the northeast USA) and now I'm back to freezing.  Thank you very much.

I hope you are hiding under that desk with a keyboard and flashlight or the very least a pencil and pad of paper.

 I KNEW it! I just knew this whole chapter was going to be dating foreplay and then you would end the chapter at the good part! TEASE!!!!!!!! I really really really wanted to scream last night.  I knew you weren't going to get to all their first date, but I was kinda hoping you'd leave it at her going to meet him....not them seeing who they really are.  I'm so scrared now, seriously.  I'm afraid that they're going to start the whole "Miss Granger" - "Professor" bull shit.  And say a bunch of nasty stuff they don't mean and storm away.  I seriously hope they think before they start shouting obsenities at eachother.  Argh, I'm so upset!  I hope all of my inner termoil is for nothing.  Please submit that next chapter soon.  Please.  ~Brena

Okay, flaying done.  I actually figured that's where you would leave it.  So, now it's wondering whether his nasty side will show and leave Hermione hurt again, or whether Hermione can handle being with someone who belittled her for so long.  On the plus side, she always defended him and demanded respect from the boys, on the minus... he saw no difference. 

interesting cliffie!!!!!!!!  can't wait for the next chapter.  i really like this story and it appears that i am not the only one, with 83 reviews before me, you are a very popular writter.  i was wondering when you would have them meet.  my only thought is a saying i read in a book once, it is an old native american saying, "everybody looks the same in the dark."  and i think that hermione and severus need to think on that when they get to the looks department of each other.  it is amazing how many people go purely on first looks.  they already know each other on the inside, so why does the outer package matter so much.

The cloak looped over Hermione’s arm dropped heavily to the floor as she stared uncomprehendingly at the all-too-familiar face. Severus Snape’s features dropped in open shock.

“You!” Hermione gasped out.

“It can’t be,” he managed.

Hermione’s fingernails dug into the heavy wool beneath them.

And everything changed.

Good Lord! woman, how could you do this?  What an evil cliffie!  What I want to know... no, what I need to know is HOW DID EVERYTHING CHANGE?

I am so happy for Hermione and Severus that they have such good friends in Harry, Ginny, and Minerva to help them with their cases of nerves preceding this dinner date.  Hermione is a vision of loveliness in the soft green robes Ginny lent her, and Severus looks good in his ebony robes with his hair tied at the nape of his neck with a green ribbon.

The care that Severus took in finding dining accommodations that would allow them to have some privacy was an indication of how very much he wanted this evening to turn out right.

I can only hope that because they are who they are will not cause a problem.  After all, everyone knows the difficult road Severus had to traverse during the war and how hard he worked to bring about the fall of Voldemort.  And Healer Levy has already told Hermione what she thought about the man she chose to be the donor:  “You chose the right man. He’s a good man.”

I am very much looking forward to the next chapter!  This chapter was brilliant even if it is a cliffie of the worst sort!  Well done!

OMG! That really was one evil cliffhanger! And then you tell us the next chapter is done, and you're making us wait "a week or so"?  So mean!  This has been one delightful read, LT.  Thanks so much.

Awwwwwwwe!!  I am bouncing out of my seat.  This story has been so great.  They were both adorable as they were getting ready.  What a great way to make us feel the mounting tension.  I was tempted to skip to the end because it was almost unbearable reading through their preparation, all the while crossing my fingers that this chapter would contain their meeting.  I will be on the lookout for the next chappie!!!  Good to hear you have it written--I would give up on fandom if this were abandoned.

I really feel for Severus...freezing like that before he turned to meet Joy.  Although I find it a bit OOC, I dearly love your charcterization of Hermione and Severus and do hope they end up happy!

Too true!  Definately an evil cliffy there!  I admit that I've been anitcipating this from the first, and I really enjoyed all the built up tension you gave us there.  I was practically on the edge of my seat - so exciting!

I don't think this end as a bad evil cliffie. It would have been he we didn't already know who they are. Like if Hermione said YOU and nothing else and we would have still be dying to know who it is. 
But there, they met and discovered their true identity. And so the fun begins. Of course I'm slightly frustrated 'cause I want to know how they will handle the situation but I really think it could have been much worse. So I will wait patiently a week or so to read what will happen next.

You conveyed, with just a few words, exactly how a moment like that cliffhanger feels: The uncertainty, the feeling of being unprepared no matter how long you have thought and fidgeted and worried about it, the sheer magnitute of knowing your life is about to change.

It was a wonderful chapter, and I'm glad to read that the next chapter is already written. Well done!

I like how you depicted both Hermione and Severus' nervousness. However, the cliffie is definitely evil. Though I know that they both recognized each other, I still don't know how that is going to affect the date. Will they still be willing to get to know each other, or will they just set their backs up? Please post the next chapter soon!
