When the Ministry refuses to finance Hermione's research project, the only option she has left is the library at Malfoy Manor. She hasn't met Lucius since the war. What happens when she comes face to face with him again? And what has Snape to do with it all?

I am a latecomer to the Potterverse (way after HBP). I was searching the web for everything and anything about Snape one day when I accidentally stumbled over my first Severus/Hermione story. I read it, was intrigued, searched for more, and the rest is history.
My fandom world very much revolves around Severus Snape and Lucius Malfoy.
My favourite 'ships are Hermione/Severus, Hermione/Lucius, Severus/Lucius, and my OT3: Severus/Hermione/Lucius.

Are we going to find out how she drugged herself? Or was it just the emotions combined with the wine? Isn't she lucky though: Books, research, working with Severus, flirting with Lucius. No more whining about the Ministry, please. One cannot have it all (she's already going to have more than her share, by the looks of it).
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
Hermione's drug was emotional exhaustion combined with alcohol. :)
And I agree, she is a very lucky girl!
Thank you very much for your review and the lovely stars :D

Interesting, I wonder when Hermione will take the plunge and publish. Nice layers of things going on I was amused by her fantasy and intrigued by her potion.

Whoops. Just after they begin to know each other a bit better and she's softening up to him. He's not going to turn nasty on her, is he? Or is Severus to play a deus ex machina to rescue her? Or is it part of Lucius' and Severus' joint seduction plan? Actually I hate cliffies. I'm one of those who first want to know that the butler has done it, and then sit back to read when, where, how, and why. Pls update soon!
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
Would I ever write a truly nasty Lucius? *looks mysterious*
I don't like cliffies too much when I'm reading either, but I have to admit that I love writing them ;)

You just might, for a change...! But whatever happens, I trust you will let him come round before the end (:-)))

Very nice chapter with lots of information perfectly added to the story. I especially liked the bit when you referred to Snape's potion book - bind the past and the present together, and see what we willl get in the end ;-)Looking forward to the next chapter, dear!

Great chapter and introduction for the story; however, I'm a bit confused. I'm assuming Hermione was going to marry Ron, but then decided not to, thus Mrs. Weasley not really liking her anymore? And did Harry do the same thing with Ginny or is he actually GOING to marry her? And I guess Lucius and Narcissa are divorced and Kinsley decided to marry Narcissa after the divorce? I just didn't get the clear message on those fronts, but other than that...wonderful job!~Jen
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
I'm sorry I confused you. Hermione has indeed split up with Ron, and Harry and Ginny aren't a couple anymore either. Narcissa has married Kingsley after her divorce. I hope that helps!
Thank you very much for reading and reviewing :D

Great chapter! I like how you have Snape working on a similar project...does that mean they might possibly end up working together? That could be very interesting. Again, great job.~Jen

Loved this line:They didn’t touch on the subject of Snape and Malfoy or Hermione’s possible love affair with the Dark Arts again, and a pleasant afternoon was had by all.And this one seemed vaguely ominous:Smiling, Lucius looked at her before he said softly, ‘Contrary to what you may think, Miss Granger, I do not enjoy violence. It is crude and uncivilised.’...though it's probably as close to an apology/excuse/explanation of his actions that Lucius is likely to make, and the ominous feeling might be due to her blacking out directly after he said it...
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
I'm so thrilled that you found that line ominous, since that was exactly what I was aiming at :D

I do believe that is the closest Lucius will come to an apology. Nice job keeping him Slytherin!
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
Thank you so much for your lovely review! I'm very happy that you found Lucius's characterisation believable and Slytherin.

... and woke to see Severus and Luscious--oops, Lucius-- snogging passionately in front of her. Naked. Right? No, silly

How thrilling to find a German book in your story *beams*
Very good chapter, this one. I like how Snape comes into picture early, and I really like his hair being longer than in the books. But then, I like him however he looks
Looking forward to the next chapter, dear intriguing that they work at similar projects

What a nice way of getting rid of Narcissa, dear ;-) Marrying her to Shacklebolt is a pretty neat move!
I do like the beginning of this tale a lot. Hermione is captured perfectly, with her problems after falling out with Ron. Arthur Weasley as Minister is a good choice, too.
Will go on reading the next chapter now!

I'm so happy you enjoyed the beginning of my story and that you think my Hermione convincing! I like Narcissa, so I wanted her to be happy, just not necessarily with Lucius ;)

Your description of the lenght of Kingsley's speech? Bwhahaha. *snort* A bunch of very annoying Weasleys (you REALLY don't like them, huh?) and severel ex-Death-Eaters in the same room - and no one got killed?! Should I be proud of you or disappointed? 'take care of my garden' and Drarry and some funny banter and a happy ending for everyone (well, um everyone not redheaded...) and a wonderful last paragraph. Yeah! Lovely. It just felt a little too short.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
Thank you so much for all your lovely reviews. I'm so happy you liked this :)
Actually, I don't dislike all Weasleys on principle, but for some reason they turned out to be the baddies in this story ;)
Ah, and there's Narcissa. Just the moment when I realized I had forgotten about her existence (again: Good telling style, when it makes me stop questioning the circumstances. Like, um, dissapeared wives...)All right, I got really bad responses for one or another back-handed compliment. *cough* Still I continue with that practice: I think Severus and Lucius made their way from the plausible 'changed after war'-behaviour to 'totally OOC'. Which I should not like, but do (see the stars? I mean it.).This way they feel made for each other. You managed not to discuss someone being jealous or insecure and whatnot. They actually seem to love each other (There. A first: I used the word in connection to a treesome containing Snape and Malfoy. Can't believe it myself.). That's great. And what I loved most is, that the men seem to totally naturally share the master bedroom. They are so confident. Plants butterflies in my stomach somehow.Uh, uh, and is that a hint of Drarry? Don't answer. I'll go check it myself. And, um, someone here seems to bear a certain red-headed family a tiny little grudge...
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
Thank you :)
I'm very glad you like Severus and Lucius in this - people can change in many ways and those two turned out like this. And don't forget that they still enjoy a little scheming and plotting :D Yes, they're very confident and secure in their love for each other - I like them this way and it makes me very happy that you do, too.
Ooof. There was a plot. I had forgotten about that. lol Totally vanished from my thoughts.
Your writing must be fairly good when I read it and don't complain.
But, um. What happened at Christmas? Neville? Harry? Who is Hannah?
‘So, now you know,’ Severus said.Aww, how sweet was that?! Made me want to go there and pad him comforting on the back. Poor little sensitive one.
Ah, well Severus and Lucius. I had the suspicion since that tea-scene. That was a very intimate gesture.
And the houseelves?! The elves, that are afraid to be freed. - That's a joke I always find to be highly entertaining.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like this :) Hannah is Hannah Abbott. JKR said in an interview that she became the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron and married Neville. Sorry, if that was confusing. There'll be more about Harry in the next chapter.
Oh yes. Don't try to drug a former Death-Eater with anything mixed into his extra-specially blended tea! With a potions master at hand, no less!
I had to stop reading at that point.
Partly because I thought, Severus must be seriously mad.
Eventually I read on. Peering trough my finger like I would be watching some horror movie.
But, you solved that well. Very much so.
Excellent smut. With long detailed descriptions of the foreplay and less things like “cramping and/or tightening around him”, “felt so good inside her”..., blabla. Those can be good as well (and very good, for that matter), I am just a little fed up with reading it again and again with the feeling I could copy and paste it from one story to another.
Uh, and no silly questions like “will that fit?” from her. Thank you.
Response from Dreamy_Dragon (Author of Touch the Dark)
Thank you so much for your kind words and the lovely stars.
I'm totally thrilled that you liked my smut. *beams*
