Alan Rickman obsessed ex-civil servant now living the good life in France. I only write in the good ship SS/HG. However, if you think that the only way these two can get together is by some sort of forced marriage, 'binding' or whatever, don't read my stories. You will be disappointed.

A lovely ending to a sweet story. (Though I do look forward to the promised epilogue, short though it may be.) And what a nice touch to have Purdy and company turn out to have been his loyal saviors, twice over. Singing house-elves must be a beautiful sound!

This story hooked me from the first chapter, when poor-but-proud Severus interviewed for a position at Hogwarts, right up to the last sentence, which sent our couple off on such a note of exhilaration and hope. And structurally, it shows off an incredible potential for the drabble format -- I really admired how the tension and flow maintained throughout the short bursts of prose. In case the sentiment hasn't emerged by now, I really loved this story!

my favorite part was that purdy saved him twice over and the healing power of house-elf song - who knew, but it makes sense. i look forward to the epilogue.

Aw, great ending. I loved how you saved him. House-elf song... trumps phoenix song, I guess. Lovely story. Too bad Burbidge will probably escape Azkaban. But he'd have to be nutters anyway.

Ooohhhh - that was absolutely wonderful! You definitely made me tear up there. And I think that they'll be SO happy. Again, I love what you've done with your original ideas - Betty and Corvus and the Tower. This is a fantastic fic and I really, really appreciate you posting it. What a wonderful ending. I think you maintained the tone and gentle quality of their relationship beautifully throughout the piece. And I was thrilled that it was Snape's arrival which pushed Burbage over the edge rather than something of longer duration.

An update ... YAYS!!! And I totally loved every bit, especially the elves song of healing as well as Severus' reveal that it was Purdy who saved him in the Shrieking Shack.
Hm...I am wondering how the Slytherins are enjoying their fully restored tower? I'm sure they'll be overjoyed should Severus decide to accept being Head of House again!

I never thought when I started this series that it would be so popular. I am rolling my eyes at you Melusin! How can you say this? You are an amazing writer and I follow your stories with little more than stalking like behavior!! Silly goose. I thought the elves singing healing magic was just beautiful. You have given them a happily ever after. Although I wouldnt mind if Draco made an appearance in the epilogue. Just to give them some shit you understand!

Gah! You can tell I've not been very good at keeping up with my livejournal flist of late. I completely missed that this had gone up.Thrilling stuff! I love the way that Vasey and his chums had been trying to let Severus know covertly and he's finally twigged. And his Indiana Jones moment. Poor Slytherins!
