Summer Feature
As a special summer feature, we're spending the lazy, hazy, crazy days spotlighting (on LJ: http://petulantpoetess.livejournal.com/ and Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Petulant-Poetess/100679539999482) some of the people who make The Petulant Poetess a thriving archive and great community to be involved in: our mods, recommend writers, and top reviewers.
So far we've featured mods karelia, RobisonRocket, and Lyn_F, writer Subversa, and top reviewer blue artemis – which writer will we feature tomorrow? Check LJ or Facebook to find out!

Pay it Forward Recs = Spreading the Love
I'm pleased to announce that sunny33, Jinxie, mimmom, HBAR, and snitchette were our top five reviewers for the month of January and sunny33, Owlbait, tenoh27, Jinxie, and snitchette topped the reviews tallies for the month of February!
The mod team offers squishes and thanks to all all of them for being such vital and supportive members of the TPP community – additionally, each will have the opportunity to recommend one of their favorite stories for inclusion in our Grab-Bag Thursday recommendations on Facebook and Buzz, joining Pay It Forward recs from previously recommended authors.
(Note: If you are an author who has been recommended and have misplaced the email giving you instructions for PIF recs, let me – juniperus – know!)

Thank you, Reviewers!
It's that time of year again when the admins go skiving off, and instead of pushing chapter after chapter through the queue, they indulge in reading reviews. ;)
They learned something profound: one would think that picking the top three reviewers on an archive with more than 27k members is tremendously hard. Well, it wasn't. Clearly, the reviewer who posted more reviews than anyone else deserves to be named and, perhaps, gifted a little something, right? So, I'll give you
Sunny33, who left the most reviews for the second year running. For you, kittylefish has written Stepping Out, with a little help from Clairvoyant and karelia, and you'll find it on the front page under the Featured Stories.
There were two other reviewers who stood out incredibly with a consistently high quality as well as quantity of reviews. Hbar is one. She so regularly makes authors squee that rumour has it that Severus is working on a way to bottle them as treatment for depression. Now, how cool would that be?
Hbar, astopperindeath, with a little help from Clairvoyant, has written for you The Ghost of Christmas Passed Away, accessible on the front page under Featured Stories.
And last, but by no means least, we have braye27, a real-life Potions mistress, who is not only enthusiastic about reading fanfic but lends support to many authors by cheer-leading, discussing ideas and being there for them. Braye27, for you, Clairvoyant, with a little help from sempra, kittylefish, and astopperindeath, has written The Voodoo That you do so Well, also found on the front page, under the Featured Stories.
To all who have crossed paths with The Petulant Poetess, may your 2011 be an improvement on 2010, with much enthusiasm to read, review, write, beta-read, alpha-read, and cheer-lead!
Sincerely,
The Petulant Poetess Faerie

Attention Hotmail Users
If you use a Hotmail account for TPP and do not receive correspondence, please check your spam folder! We've had several occasions recently when authors with chapters in the queue seemed to not respond to any letters sent. The problem is Hotmail, not TPP. Hotmail apparently delegates correspondence from TPP into their spam folder. So, if you have a chapter in the queue, please check your spam folder, or better even, switch to a gmail or yahoo account. They are also free, but offer considerably better anti-spam measures than Hotmail does.

Slash is now Genre
This is just a heads up for authors who post or have stories in the Forbidden Forest category: We have changed the Slash from Warnings to Genre. It's taken a while to implement because our headmistress, who is also the coding goddess, has a busy life, and we wanted to be absolutely certain that the coding doesn't get messed up. But it's finally there, in the Genres. Happy writing and reading!
