Young grandma of 6.5 with too much time on her hands, absolutely gah-gah over Severus Snape. Writes AU SS/HG SS/OFC usually all NC-17. Some really do like it hot after all ;)
Reviews for The Smitten Pedophile
I really dislike older Snape lusting after a kid. Yikes. I'm just surprised so many people see it as hot. I wanted to call the Aurors on him from the start to toss his child-wanting arse into Azkaban. I can see a young woman having a crush on a professor. That happens often enough with us, doesn't it? I just don't like his peeping and lewd thoughts about a child. Glad he's not trying to drug her and use her at least.
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
Yep. The reactions are mixed all right. But to be honest, I'm thinking the "hotness" is fantasy-based and RL reactions would be different. In stories, we (or I anyway) get turned on by things I KNOW I wouldn't accept in real life or find the least bit sexy. I am posting the second half to this exploration but without the romance of Snape's monologue. It definitely throws some ice on it. lol. Thank you for commenting SW. ***

People always argue, "Oh, it's fiction, so it's okay to be hot." I disagree. I can't get over the wrongness of it, though I expect it's because I've been through it. Things I never get turned on by are rapes or anything dealing with the abuse of children. You will be interested in knowing that after I read your reviews, I was moved enough to write my own story, only having Snape dealt with in a different way. I'll post that later today maybe (if i have time).I'm not saying I don't read them. I do. I just like the stories to be realistic and not glorified. That's just my thing. :) Good writing.
oh my very nicely done!!! Very nicely done indeed!!!

This was really amazing! I love Severus's words -- he could really see Hermione's value. Good job!

Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
. Yah, it's me. :) Well, if you're patient you may be able to read a few of them here at the TPP, with better grammar. lol. But no, there won't be any more to this story. Thank you for commenting. **
Response from huanita (Reviewer)
Ms Figg, again i love your site and i will try this summar to finish reading all the ones that interest me. i did read the one where you said good-bye to all the characters that you created, made me cry. but this one would be so A.U!! i think that it would be a great possible marriage law response with a twist, maybe. Thanks again for writing, Huanita
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
Cry no more

. I've decided to start writing HG/SS again, starting with a little one-shot called "Er . . . Hello Again." It's in my blood I think, and a person can do more than one thing. I'll just have to multitask. :)) Ah, but I think I'm Marriage Lawed out. :) But you never know. Again, thank you for being so supportive. ***
This is a great scene. It is terribly erotic and Snape’s words are so very real that I can almost hear them.
And, of course, what he says is true – my how times have changed!

Thank you, Jade. :)
Welcome to TPP! I think you'll like it.
I find this oneshot to be very compelling. As others have said, UST is so delicious I can see why it's tempting to want more. OTOH, it stands alone quite well.
I understand the statement you're making, and it's profound.
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
Thank you, Mia. You're always so supportive and I appreciate it very much.
Nobody writes Snape and his "voice" the way you do.That's why I dread the day you no longer write HG/SS. I'm beginning to enjoy your original characters and their world is very interesting, but the way you "do" Snape (sigh) just wonderful.-

I was a little aprehensive when I saw the title, but started reading with an open mind. An interesting story and idea. It's a shame that he sees his desire for Hermione making him a smitten paedophile as he doesn't intend on acting upon said desire. Okay, it's a little creepy that he goes into the dorm room to watch her. Of course, no-one seems to mention Hermiones desire for him - I guess that would be explained as a young girls crush.Well written and I didn't find it squicky at all, although some may.
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
lol. Yes, a little creepy. Maybe I'll post the other version without his monologue. I guarantee squick will abound! Thanks for commenting.
I was little apprehensive when I first saw the that word Pedophile in the title, but the story was very well written and knowing Hermione, she got her man. Even in this culture there are people getting married at 14, 15, 16 and having children! Yes, a very well written story!

I'm glad you enjoyed it

Very poetic. I sense quotes from famous texts in here and it annoys me to no end that I don't know what they are. Some Shakespeare perhaps? Anyway, very nicely done. I hesitated for a while before reading because of the title. It's a bit misleading, I find, perhaps because the age limit in my country is 15 and 14 is just short of that (so for someone to be considered a pedophile here, the child needs to be pre-puberty, twelve or younger, usually. Otherwise it's 'just' statutory rape or imoral use of minor). Cultural differences are indeed interesting.
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
Actually, that little line:”If only the hands of time could spin before the subtle curse of sin befell the honest heart, my dear, when love sufficed despite the span of years . . .”is original as far as I know. I wrote poetry for a while and when I started writing the line I thought it would be nice to add a little offbeat rhyme and alliteration to it. ;) Otherwise, it could have been VERY corny. lol. Yes, the title is rather misleading but I took it from the story itself. I find it interesting because when one questions the title are they also questioning Snape's view of himself? Thank you so much for commenting.
How did he get into her dormroom? Eh? Pervert. Teehehe
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
lol. I wrote this on the premise that the folding stairs that protect the girls' dorm in Gryffindor tower don't turn into a slide when the male walking up them is a staff member. ;)
Context is everything, as with the difference between different cultures regarding what is a proper age for marriage and child bearing. As we become more sophisticated, we regard teenagers as too young to be mothers, however biologically the body is preparing for childbearing in younger girls every decade. The earlier age of commencement of sexual activity in Western cultures, despite current mores , somewhat underlines the difference between what is biologically possible, and what is socially acceptable. Other, less urbanized cultures, have a less disparate view.

Hi Sunny33. Two weeks ago a former neighbor of mine called to bemoan his youngest daughter, age 8 had started her period. He has four daughters. Up to this point the youngest to start menstruating was 10. It's unbelievable how young the cycle is starting. Frightening too. Thank you for your thoughtful comment.
I wish this could be more than a one-shot. I love stories that are full of sexual tension, the wanting and not having. I have read and re-read your fic on your website and I am a HUGE fan! I'm so sad you are saying good-bye to Severus and Hermione, though I hope perhaps the Muse shall descend on you once more and give us one more lovely story full of lemons, of course! :)Livvy

I'm missing them terribly. Perhaps when I finish my novel I'll dip back in. Can't say for sure. But thank you for your kind comments. ***
I've read your work before and have enjoyed some of it, but I found this extremely disturbing. While I realize that your story isn't sexually explicit in any way, you're still making Snape a pedophile (to use your own description) and romanticizing his sexual desires for a young girl.

Hi
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
. This was a little exploratory piece that I wrote to see if I could make Snape longing for an underaged Hermione acceptable. Actually, it is one of two pieces, the second piece written without any of Snape's monologue, just the descriptions of what took place. Far creepier. I've been corrected several times on using the term "pedophile" because technically it is an attraction to pre-pubescent children usually under the age of 12. Many see Snape as being attracted to her on more than a sexual level, and his willingness to wait until she is of proper age something that lessens the "squick" value, whereas the second writing pretty much squicks everyone. Also, Hermine returning his interest also lessened the blow, although whether a 14-year-old is mature enough to make a decision like that comes into question. All in all, some are disturbed by this one-shot, and others want a story from it. lol. Go figure. But thank you for commenting.
Again, I love the exploration. Well done, my dear :)

. :) My first TPP post.
Nicely done, and so very true. Though, since JK never approached the BIOLOGY of a young woman, who knows if she would have been 'working' at 12 or if she was a late bloomer. Perhaps that would have been a fly in the ointment of the camping scenario if Hermione had to stop and change a tampon in the forest of dean.
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
lololol. Oh that's funny! Thank you for commenting. :)))
Good story. I like the stories short. With two small kids, it is hard to commit to long stories. When is your next story?
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
Actually, I'm not writing any new HG/SS stories, although I may clean up a few of my shorter ones I have posted elsewhere and see if I can get them accepted here. I'll keep your preferences in mind. Thank you for commenting.
Ouuuu nice and twisty! Especially that she heard him!!
Very interesting idea; I don't think I've ever thought of the situation from that perspective. Great job!!~Jen
I was suprised to see your name on the list of 'new' authors here. I have been making my way through your stories on AFF - which are excellent btw. This was very good as well. I am greedy - I hope you submit more!
Response from Ms_Figg (Author of The Smitten Pedophile)
Yes, I'm a new author here. This is the second moderated site where the owners were kind and patient enough to accept my work. Thank you for being so supportive. :)
I think that the different responses have to do with the fact that without the monologue, we don't know what Snape's thinking. For all we know, he's one of those sickos who not only lusts after young children, but also likes to murder them. I agree with you that words are powerful. One can look into history and see all kinds of atrocious things that were done while being rationalized and glorified with fancy words.
